Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Le nozze di Figaro - Jessye Norman. E Susanna non vien! Dove sono i bei momenti. BBC Symphony Orchestra Conductor - Sir Colin Davis
Yess, ms Norman is one of the best interpreter for Mozart opera. Love it. Her Porgi amor is absolutely fantastic. Rest in peace dear Ms. Norman. Thankyou for all you gave us. 👍👍🙏🙏
soft beautiful piano for the gentle wife, rock solid forte for the vengeful countess and total accuracy for the conviction in all those awkward intervals; i've been looking for a favourite for this aria for a while and this is it! thank you so much for posting this
I remember many years ago hearing her sing this at a recital in Glasgow, and thinking the pianissimo was so soft I could just hear it, in the stalls, knowing if I were in the gods it would equally exquisite. 50 years later I still remember that Dove Sono.
Glorious full voice.I cannot agree with the criticisms. All perfectly in tune , and the high notes at 1.31, 5.30 and 5.58 were not at all out of range or strained.
Love Norman. She could sing from the phone book, in Mandarin, and I'd still love her singing. I find some of the comments here fascinating. I guess I'm a musical philistine, and I have no musical talent of any sort, but even the concept of singing something as challenging as this piece in a tongue not my own would be far beyond anything I could contemplate. It's interesting to hear the criticisms, because I can't detect the faults. LOL
Very beautiful Dove sono by Jessye Norman. Dramatic soprano or mezzo. I guess it depends on the one regulates the voiice for performance. Here Norman is successful in adhering to the Mozartian restrictions.
Scott Johnson jessye Norman is not a dramatic soprano. She has a beautiful voice that is obvious. A dramatic soprano would have a repertoire very similar to Dimitrova. Jessye Norman would never sing Macbeth or Nabucco, Turandot. Etc. I know it's somewhat difficult to determine when a great voice like our Jessye . TY my friend. Sincerely Arnold Bourbon Amaral. 😳🌏🌎🌍
MENKHAR, I BOUGHT A CASSETTE TAPE IN THE EARLY 70'S WHICH I THINK WAS CALLED HIGHLIGHTS MOZART LE NOZZE DI FIGARO BY SIR COLIN DAVIS. IS THIS TAKEN FROM THE THAT ALBUM. I BELIEVE SOME OF THE OTHERS WERE WLADIMIRO, JESSYE, CLIFFORD GRANT?, YVONNE MINTON?. ROBERT TEAR?, .... IF SO, HAVE YOU POSTED OTHER SONGS FROM THIS ALBUM? ELVIS4221 6 seconds ago
Out of the many recordings and performances given by Jessye, perhaps only a handful display pitch problems. Otherwise she is on pitch the vast majority of times. What gives people the perception of flat notes is more attributable to her dark timbre which is heavy on undertones. If you don't have a good sound system where you can hear the overtones well, it'll sound under pitch even though it isn't. This is true for some of today's singers who have dark voices, including Sondra Radvanovsky.
It's not flat enough, if it is. Give us the minutes and seconds where. The only reason why I'm here on this thread is that Kiri's second go round wasn't Caballe, if you no what I mean.
Listened to the Caballe, she didn't do what I expected. Freni's version is awesome. Also listened to Leontyne Price in Atlanta version, it too was awesome.
Wonderful singing.Jessye Norman -first magnitude star. R.I.P.

Sublime. This is belcanto at its best and nobody does it better than Jessye Norman.

@@arnoldamaral7406 Jessy Norman sang a Wagner that recquires a jugar voice, and she sang dramatic mezzosoprano roles ase well.
@@arnoldamaral7406 You do realize she sang repertoire of dramatic soprano, spinto soprano and mezzosoprano? She was a Falcon soprano.

Romina Jofré that’s just right - no words to describe it
What year is this from?
E susAnna non viENN
I am I imagining things or was the conducting a little fast?
How much slower would you conduct it?
The greatest American voice. She is giving the whole world her best. Compared to her, Obama is a little nothing.
WTF does Obama have to do with Mozart singing?
well i am sure you are now happy with the greatest president ever -donald dump
this has gone a little off the subject :
I didn't know Obama was a singer.
Hahahahahaha well he has a nice baritone.... but yeah nothing like Norman's soprano hahahaha
Is she singing flat ? Sorry must be my ears .....
woof. I love Jessye but this is just a mess...and flat.
No it's not.

csierra135 Your ears need a tuning or an adjustment! Nothing's flat about this at all!
I wouldn't expect a basic bitch to understand. Perhaps a music degree would help?
