JarekTheGamingDragon This mod brings back memories nice video by the way i have one question about firearms mod 2.5 i installed this mod on my old CS 1.5 and it works but when i installed firebot to play against bots id dint work can you tell me is there some program thst can add bots in game and thst bots are not like stupid or frozen?
For everybody that believes that at 2:34 the weapon is a Sten is wrong. It is actually a Sterling sub-machine gun.

Sterling was the successor to the Sten - which was true, the gun was made during World War II (Sterling) but didn't actually enter service till the 50s... because the Sten was so reliable. apparently.

I remember this mod from back in the day, always thought it was awesome. The biggest problem with this mod was back when I first discovered it (around 2003 / 2004) no one else was playing it, and there were no servers to join.....so it was just 10 year old me running around by myself in these awesome maps with all these badass guns. 😕
The screen name I actually use now came from this mod. The default name in this mod was Freshmeat which my name is a literal translation in Dutch.

I really like that it's a mag reload and not a bullet reload
What i always remember the most about this mod, was the animation for attaching the suppressor to the MP5. It isn't a threaded barrel, it's actually an integrated suppressor that replaced the whole barrel. It was a really complex and interesting animation for its day, with a lot of details well beyond what you would expect from just some mod.
This mod was really ahead of it's time in both gameplay and animations.

I wonder if this game is still played by the public. Firearms used to be one of my favourite multiplayer mods. I used to play it with friends and family. One map that involved parachuting into the area was hilarious as everyone around you didnt know how to deploy them, so they just up and splatted around you. Good stuff.
press F10 to deploy parachutes lol

lol I hope you got the joke though :p (or was it F12? but it made you quit the game it was always fun the tell any noob that and see that player exit the server) It was also fun of seeing a influx of CS players asking how the buy weapons but you saw that in Day of Defeat and Natural Selection.
Online play was too difficult for me back then, but my father had plenty of people to round up for LANs which were pretty fun, probably better than online play.
Which version of Firearms mod was this? If I remember correctly version 2.5 and 3.0 had a few different weapons from each other, furthermore I think version 3.0 introduced a perks system which changed some animations with the reloads (Nomenclature perk) and the Stealth Perk allowed you to attach suppressors to some guns (M9, MP5 -> MP5SD, Uzi). 3.0 from what I remember added an Uzi, AK-74 and full size AKM, LMG's such as the Minimi and RPK and I believe a few snipers such as the Dragunov and Steyr SSG-3000.
Lovely video, also the MC-51B Vollmer "SMG" was probably my favourite weapon back in the day when the servers were populated. Also look forward to seeing if Firearms Source gets some love, ALOT of hidden animations in there fyi.

No, the perk system was in there pretty early on.. pre 2.5, not sure exactly when but quite a bit before 2.5-3. Also the quality and detail of the skins improved vastly in the later updates, the one showcased still had the akimbo Mac11 so it is defo an earlier version again.
can you do the 3.0 version it's more soother in models and animations in my opinion and more guns were added
Jarek I am very pleased to see the HK53 magazine very real not unlike cod where ammo counter reaches zero but still ammo on the box and yeah cool stuff this firearms :D
why does the sniper eject tank shells
Matthew Bennett Snipers were secretly portable tank cannons with scopes back then.
Jetfire68 They just tore a tank barrel off of a tanks and slapped a scope on it and said it was a sniper rifle
Thats a Barret M82 which uses 12,7mm ammo more know as 50 CAL which are pretty big.

yeah man, looks exactly like the source version. The character has no indication he is soldier, has thousand of weapons in his inventory. It looks nothing like the source one. The new version does though.
