This made my Little Irish Heart Soar. I am reminded of when I was working in the UK. I was in the staff canteen one evening. On the Telly was the BBC program Mastermind. Everyone was shouting out answers and I answered a number of questions right, mostly about UK Geography, History Etc. A few people asked how do you know so much about UK general knowledge. I just said "don't know books." Then this guy (I consider a friend and still do to this day) just looked at me with a bemused and bewildered face and with a monotone voice free from sarcasm and devoid of irony (I thought) replied "Paddy and his Books, Paddy and his Books." Shaking his head in a almost austere manner. To which I just laughed and replied "indeed." My name is Sean. I never got into countdown so when it was on. I would chat, drink tea and watch. One day someone asked "how come your not playing along." I just replied "Irish schools don't teach Maths or English." I remember a really kind Woman who I use to pal around with just put her hand on my back in a kind of comforting motion and then said "poor thing, you have done so well to become a engineer, People are so cruel." Have to say enjoyed My time in the UK.

Funny. If something like that happened on U.S. Family Feud, they would have thrown out the question long before all those answers. Of course, they wouldn't ask a famous Irishman, because they wouldn't even be able to answer a famous American. Anyway, I'm surprised the guy on the right didn't answer "Turkey Lurkey."
To all TH-camrs out there, as it's 27th December 2020 as I write this message, I hope you all had a GREAT Christmas and didn't eat TOO MUCH TURKEY weither you're IRISH or not.😂😂😂🦃🍗🌲
@Christopher Chadwick it can be hard to watch and there was loads of conflict at the time, the fact most of the Irish people they named were entertainers in the English media kind of says something.
@@Sileaine That's those English people's fault for having stereotypical Irish surnames for no reason. (This comment is clearly a joke please don't cancel me in 15 years)

@@julianrolheiser6061 No. That _is_ a surprise.
Wouldn't Ian Paisley not be happy at being called Irish? Northern Irish maybe!
Surprised Bob didn’t say “Dustin the Turkey” 😂😂😂
It’s a win-win.

This question would be very difficult today. Loads of famous Irishmen today.
There was back then too, just more racism against Irish people at the time
This was taped in the middle of the Troubles! There should've been a few easy answers from that!
Ouch. You're not wrong though.
Bobby Sands?
Father Ted.
If somebody asked this question today on Family Fortunes, my answer would’ve been JackSepticEye.
Should be the top answer 😅
Name a famous Irishman
Johnny O’Donnell.
Guy was so cocky thinking his answer Garrett would be up there😂😂
Because it was the first correct answer any of them gave
one of the best ever Irishman and turkey

Terry wogan
St. Patrick, Gerry Adams, Bobby Sands, Bono, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, Eamon DeValera, Michael Collins, Liam Nesson, etc.
St Patrick was Welsh
@Christopher Chadwick Neither was Bono.
Why are none of those surnames stereotypically-Irish?
I am not sure Rory would be so famous now after being accused of domestic abuse.

The famous Damon O'Disraeli!
Really, a famous irishman is really a difficult amswer in family fortunes.
It seems to be as difficult as spelling the word 'answer'.
Hughey McFee??
Shughie McFee, the cook from Crossroads, played by the late Scottish actor Angus Lennie.
Bobby Sands
