    Interstellar Modeler,
    You know the world could be falling apart but like Mr. Rogers your upbeat voice will come up and as we slip into Ragnarok, the next modeling lesson or tutorial will still be going on TH-cam!

    I really like the direction you're going with the piping!

    Great progress so far.. this will really help me give me a visual heads up on what to expect and streamline my process when I attempt to build this same model some time this year (hopefully).
    looking forward to the next part of this build.

    I'm contemplating on getting this kit and building it for my father for his birthday. He loves the Y-Wing. What do you suggest? I love Bandai kits, but never have built any of the vehicles, only figures. Amazing work as always. I'm very proud to be a subscriber for 3 years now. Love your videos.

      Thanks Stephen. I think this would be a great kit to give your dad. It's not too large either so easily displayed on a desk or book shelf. I am continually amazed at the detailing and have no doubt he will be too. You can also find it at a decent price. I've built several models for my son. It's a nice, personal gift. There's something to be said about giving something that you've put your time into. Go for it.....and thanks for watching, so glad to hear from you.

    How do you deal with excess plastic after you cut them off the spruce post priming? do you add back some primer?

    • @InterstellarModeler
      @InterstellarModeler  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I often remove the pieces from the tree before priming but sometimes I find it easier to handle the pieces this way. Just based on how they were attached i knew there wouldn't be much excess but yes I would add more if I had to.

    when you do the weathering with brush, do you just use acrylic paint?

      I actually have used both acrylic and enamel. The trick is not to have much paint on your brush.

    Hello again, just watching your videos again before starting my own Y-Wing build. I am thinking about what kind of wash to use. I am moving away from enamels because I just can't stand the smell. What brand of wash did you use on the engines?

      @InterstellarModeler  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John....I just bought Vallejo's Black Model Wash. I experimented with it a little and it works pretty well. I'd recommend it. It's acrylic with easy clean up and no smell.

      Interstellar Modeler I am all for no smell. LOL. I have a bottle of it and have been meaning to try it out. You had said in one of these Y-Wing videos that you had some trouble with one engine the first time around. Well, so did I. I knew it was not right, so I had to take that whole engine assembly apart and start over. It was kind of rough on my fingers. It is all good now though. I am enjoying this kit very much. Thank you so much for answering my questions. All the best to you!

    Which tamiya weathering master kit did you used?

  • @Iwan_Cigfran

    Do you think it would be possible to just seal this with gloss acrylic varnish over this model without priming and painting first, and then weather it ? My concern is because I am hand brush painting that the pieces will not fit because of the thicker layers of primer and paint, that and I am lazy. LOL.

      @InterstellarModeler  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but it’s a small model which can make masking a challenge when assembled. Also be careful around the main body as the plumbing pieces are delicate. Lastly make sure you cover any clear windows as the clear coat will frost them over. 👍

      Interstellar Modeler Thank you for the kind response. I appreciate it. I just got this Y-wing, and the A-wing delivered today, which was surprising because it is Mother's Day.
