I decided to get into Armada with the Clone Wars and have had two battles with the two fleet starters. Both times salvo has resulted in the Acclimator and Munificent mutually destroying each other.
Deep in the African jungle lives a mysterious warrior. His name is legendary. His strength is remarkable. And His transformation is pretty good too.
I am loving the subtle blue paint job Crabbok. Nice job. if we ever return to normal life and you find yourself in England one day, look us up for a match!
I love the new ships and the new paint jobs you put on them. It'll be nice to see these factions get rounded out more.

Fielding Munificents without LTT seems like suicide. I played one game without LTTs and I wanted to rip my guts out
I fine with the squadrons if you give them a base coat they tend to fit into the stands ability more snugglely. Just incase you didn't want to glue them in.

13:22 It may be a rules-lawyer moment, but Flak is totally affected by Swivel Mount Batteries. The card notes you get a bonus die while attacking a ship, but the very next sentence indicates you just lose a dice while attacking out the other arcs (regardless of target).
if you take it literally, you are right. but guessing faq will fix that.. or.. not and this card is even less appealing

RE: Expert Shield Techs, my group has played that you do it in any order you want. So you can drop the damage to zero. Though no idea if a FAQ will say otherwise because I don't see anything out there stopping it.
Seconded, until the FAQ says otherwise. CGYSO also interpret it this way so I trust that if nothing else.

Munificent-class Comms frigate is my top 3 fav ships. Works well with LTT (linked turbolaser towers), reserve hangar deck and axilery shields team/medical team. I would love to play 3 of them + some squadrons, but 3 core sets are to expensive.
Fun game! You’ll have to see how some of the imperial and rebel builds fare with the new rules

It sounds like you have to first do the Obi-Wan ability because there is the word : "total" before "damage" but it don't make any sense because you normaly do the brace before redirect.

Separatist are my favorite faction! Got two starters and three fighter packs to fight my older sons Imperials. Probably will get a 3rd starter, so I have three Frigates.
Could you look at getting a gyro stabilizer for the camer? It would help increase the quality of the shots. They should be pretty cheap on Amazon I think.

Using Swivel Battery mount, can’t you add any color die to your attack pool- meaning you could add a black die at long range?

@Crabbok how do you feel about squadrons in armada now? you did some videos over the last year that you would like squadrons to be faster and they declined. has your opinion changed?
So when using Aux. Shield teams you do not lose any shields .. you can bump shields up at no cost to your own shields?

Just started watching this but maybe the video will show me the benefit. I cannot see a feasible reason for swivel guns, for 1 more point you can get an extra die for front and rear hull and keep your side just as powerful, 2 points more and you keep your front hull and add a die to your sides and for 1 point cheaper you get a red reroll (idk about you all but I always get at least 1 red blank). Maybe if it was at 4 points it could compete in the cluttered turbolaser slot OR, my wish, it came out as an offensive retrofit and still a modification (we have defensive retro mods already).
the benefit is you can add dice of a different color. the republic player didnt show it here, but you can add blue or black dice on a long ranged shot if you want. it should work great with leading shots or special critical effects.
Dang! From what I’ve seen, the republic is slightly outclassed. Just slightly lol but they are strong in the squadron realm. But I could be wrong! I’m excited to see another.
the republic does just fine. both sides work differently, but well. there is a bit of a learning curve with acclamators for most people.
I should have bought a second starter set, now I’m stuck playing on a 3x3 with my little brother.
meh, not worth the price... the individual ship packs will probably come out sooner rather than later and have some special cards with them as well
I've got one starter and two squadron packs. It's cheaper and more versatile than two starters, especially when new ships are coming out. Playing 400 pts games with my oldest son.
The Brace reduction damage with redirects is easy to find out.
When you do a normal Brace plus redirect do you Redirect the full 3 then brace it to 2? No, Because it doesn't make sense.
You brace the total amount THEN redirect the remainder. The order of operations would have to have redirect second otherwise Brace would be terrible.
it is even simpler than that. all defense token effects occur with the same timing, so its up to the defender to spend them in whatever order they wish. so they can brace 4 to 2, then redirect (obi+EST) to 0. it just depends on the order the defender uses the tokens in.
This has been bugging me for a while but i didn't want to look like an ass, but i really have to ask.

Sometimes I consider getting back into Armada and then I remember how FFG games have 57,642 cards, tokens, dials, rulers, etc. I just don't like that part of the game design.
Great game. Too bad the Republic could not win.
I've watched like 7-8 batreps and I've never seen them win. They get curbstomped every time.
