      Regarding the battle reports you put everything in I enjoy in them: Prelude, fast setup. Movement/dice throws and after match analysis.
      The camera work and angles are also spot on.
      All in all every video is just a wholesome and enjoyable experience. And I wanted to let you know that all the effort is appreciated.

    That combo of Resolute, clone nav, clone gunners, and the Splat gun is nasty. Imagine 2 Venators....Great game as always lads! Btw Jon, the way you ran Mercy Mission with a naked C70 seems to be a good gamble.

      Being on the receiving end, I can say that was a killer combo. It was crazy how fast the Providence cruisers went down.

    I think mastering the SPHA-T gun might really also be part of mastering double arcing with a Venator. John really showed it off well here. That way you get your decent front arc and an upgraded side-arc.
    The token shenengians possible with CNO, Tarkin and some of the titles are crazy, but I think they can be also hard to all keep straight and get the timing right. Not sure I could handle it as well, but it's temping to try.
    I think Ken is right that it might be a trap equipping lots of upgrades to the Providence. I think if you do, some of that points really need to be devoted to keeping it alive, and it might want some support ships. Maybe a Munificent with Projection Experts and Watt Tambor on the Providence to steal shields for self-healing. And certainly something like ECM or Thermal Shields -because it's really easy to deny the one important token they need to stay alive to the Clone War ships. But of course, if you spend all that effort to keep it alive, maybe not spend so much points in the first place and get some ships that help you kill more. (Not that a Munificent isn't a good fighting ship, too).
    Mercy Mission is interesting. I think it remains to be seen if it ends up being "too easy" and encourage passive play. Though... you basically devoted 37 points to gain 40 points in this mission.

      Mercy Mission was an easy win in this scenario. A more balanced fleet (4 or 5 ships) could pose a challenge to it. Then it becomes a 57 point liability.
      John's ability to keep all of the token shenanigans in his head is mind boggling.

    By drawing enemy fire that Acclimator was keeping other ships alive, lol. Maybe not the way it was planned but still effective! Great game guys!

      It really was. I'm sure it was not John's original plan, but it wound up being highly effective. His Acclimator builds are something else - Swivel mounts and EWS make it a powerful warship.

    The republic and cis seem a lot more complicated with all the synergies, and comboes. Some of the tech you guys did was really neat.

    Regarding your community question of Mercy Mission:
    I'm a big fan of this card simply for the sake of variety of play; it provokes new playstyles and encourages alternate means to work around (or synergize with) objectives. Much like a carefully selected objective, this card can be used to distract and misdirect a focused build, kind of like sacrificing a queen to gain the checkmate in a game of chess.
    In short: This single card adds a healthy amount of depth to diversifying a GAR build's intended strategies without breaking any established game systems. While it might not happen anytime soon, I'm looking forward to more of these types of cards to mix up both the Clone Wars era and Galactic Civil War era matchups.

    Good to see more content, keep it up guys. For Ken - if you want to run 2 capital ships and no support with squadrons you really would benefit from Hyperwave Signal Boost to get your squadrons moving. Even if its just one turn its worth it for the 2 x 3 points. One of the most underrated upgrades for the droids in my view.

      Thomas, that is an interesting suggestion and I will keep it in mind for the next series of lists. In this case, I had one providence setup for squadron pushing, however with no squadrons to fight against (and the destruction of that providence carrier), it never got off the ground.

    Mercy mission seems perfect for people who fly life boats or similar. Just a small ship for another activation out of the way of the action.

      Mercy Mission is interesting in that you can gain the extra points, however you also lose out on a combat ship. It is some activation padding though.

    My own experimentation with the providence carrier and lucid voice really work out and it seems to like the coms frigate as a partner dreadnought like you said seems to want to dive right in.

      @@IONRadio Just seems like you ether want to play it stand off as a super carrier or like a WW1 dreadnought. Not really an in between in styles. Trying to find a decent commander to use. I'm intrigued by the constant refresh grievous might be able to get, but Mar Tuuk might be the best generalist commander seps have. Trench might work for a carrier I haven't tried him yet though.

      @@kathilmechworks4895 I think the options will open themselves up once the Recusant is available. I do believe that the providence is a better mid-range attack craft, but really requires support ships to get maximum efficiency out of it.

    Another great batrep, good to see clone wars factions, very helpful to try and figure out the different options. I’d always thought the clone gunners were kinda useless but comboed with clone navigation officer and a con fire dial they seem quite effective. With sphats you pretty much have to spam con fire so it all combos well together. I’ve also been playing resolute wrong as I was triggering it after reveal dial instead of resolve order (oops).
    Mercy mission is a very interesting card especially with flag bridge for zero points. John used it perfectly with a runner type ship. I wonder if you could also use it as a decoy on a ship that stays on the edge of the fight like a projection experts pelta or a charger to draw away enemy fire from your key combat ships? Loosing 20 points can be worth it if your 120+ ship stays alive.

      For the record, I thought about going after his CR70 with fighters, but realized that I needed another ship (Hardcell or Munificent) to go after it and support the fighters. Bombers would have been a better choice for me this game.

      The perspective of being on the receiving end isn't necessarily fun. :) There is a lot to keep track of, but it can be a powerful combination of upgrades.

    loved the new ships, the ignition on the venator rocks, it's better than i thought even if you have to tokenmanage like crazy to fire each round.
    the merci-mission, if you go against a squad bomber heavy build i would have replaced it with some antisquads just to keep my ships safe, but if you have points to spare for a consular, why not.
    can't wait to see the recusant on the table(that ship is the one that interests me the most honestly)
    and my order finaly shipped, all 4 ships in german though, but i am fluent in german so it's ok

    For the question on Mercy Mission, I feel like it's a fine card, but it's more for a narrative style of playing and less for competitive play, where I feel like it could end up being a a cheap way to just get 40 points.

    I am confused about the timing of the SPHA-T. my understand is as follows.
    1. the ignition token must be placed after the move.
    2. the SPHA-T is exhausted.
    3. the SPHA-T is readied at the Status Phase.
    can the card be readied while the token is still on the table?

      the SPHA-T states that the existing arcs is also, a special firing arc. would this not mean could place the ignition token out of the front arc. fire the special arc from the token, then fire from the front arc? Its clear i don't know what i am doing. that par for this course. just looking for a little clarification. thanks.

      @@mattsomes so here is how the card works. After you move you can exhaust the card to place the token at close range. The card can only be refreshed during the status phase. There us nothing keeping u from refreshing the card if you have a token. What the exhausted card does do is prevent you from placing a new token out after you move the next turn. So as long as you can refresh it you can keep using it each turn. The token can be placed in the front or side arcs. Ignition attacks have to be the first attack you make and have to be made if possible. This attack also uses up the 1 attack for that arc. (Unless you have gunnery teams/adv gunnery) so in the case of this game I set up my weaker side arc with it so that I could still use my strong front if I could double arc ken. Hope that helps - John

      Let's see if I can't help you out here...
      After the Venator moves, you can place an Ignition token (end of activation). The card is exhausted at this time. During the Status Phase, if the Venator has a concentrate fire token, it can ready the SPHA-T.
      The ignition token on the table only triggers the exhaust card requirement, and new ignition tokens cannot be placed until it is readied.

      Special firing arcs are still associated with the hull zone in question. If the ignition shot is in the front arc, and you can make this shot, then you have fired from your front hull zone. Your second attack would have to be from a different arc. Naturally there are exceptions (such as Gunnery Team).

    Didn't see Solar Corona applied beyond the setup - which edge was chosen?

      Right side of the board from the overhead perspective.
      The edge on the Republic's left flank and Separatist right flank. I don't think any shots were made toward that edge that included an accuracy. The shots John made with Accuracies came in due to Clone Gunners.

      Steve, went back and checked. There was 1 accuracy that should have been pulled. John would have just replaced it with Clone Gunners, but end of the day, no real change to the battle would have occurred. Nice catch!

    Nice batrep. I am a little bit disapointed by the squishiness of the Providence dreadnougth without the Invincible+Thermal shield combo. May be grievous can help more than Kraken ?

      I think it was a combination of the SPHA-T / Clone Gunners and Kraken being the wrong commander. I really do not think double Providence is a good idea, it wants Munificents and Hardcells to support it.

    On that first SPHA-T shot, Providence could have thermals against the special ignition shot?

      Yes, that would have been possible and likely would have removed 2 damage. I opted not to waiting for the second shot. I did not quite realize the full impact of the Clone Gunner / Tarkin mutliple shot combo until the end of that round.

    Great game :) Ken I’m really shocked you had no squadron or engineering commands?? I think one of each would’ve changed the tide - your squadrons didn’t roll that well but directing all of them at one ship would’ve been good. Plus growing the odd shield or hull.
    Also I think round 3 you gave John the heavy ions and the standard face up crit - I didn’t notice if you had the upgrade for two crit effects?

      Much of the Engineering / Squadron commands were for turns 3 - 5. I was not expecting John to swoop in as quickly as he did.
      Turn 3 shot with HIEs did not amount to a face up damage - only 1 facedown card.

    Can you add dice to an ignition attack? Didn’t realize you could x racs

      In this case you can as the attack itself is at close range. Most of the Onager ignition attacks are at long or extreme range, so we rarely saw those.
      Salvo prohibits adding dice, Ignition attacks do not. (See Ignition keyword RRG pg 9).

    I thought I saw you do an ignition attack with the venator in back to back turns? How did you do that, I thought you had to ready up the Spah-t with a concentrate token the next turn and exhaust the card after movement?

      You did. :-) The SPHA-T card is exhausted once you place the ignition token. At the end of that turn during the Status Phase, it is possible to ready the SPHA-T card with a Con Fire token. This will allow the SPHA-T to be fired multiple rounds, however you do need to get the tokens on the ship in question.

    Is it possible to reduce the fish-eye effect, it kinda feels like what gets used in movies to induce vertigo in the viewer

      Thank you for the feedback. The fisheye is something we were not expecting from the new camera. We are looking at ways to correct it, and hope to have something in place soon.

      Releases seem to be varied depending on where in the world you are. For the US, Relese date looks to be June 2021 though. Venator should be out this coming Friday.

    FYI, if a player loses all of their ships they lose the game - regardless of fighters

      You are correct for casual games. However in tournament play, the match is concluded only at the end of a round. Therefore once all the ships from at least one side have been destroyed, that full round is completed and scored. (Tournament Regs page 8)

      Thank you, Kentucky fried Clash. We intentionally pace our intros to be fairly quick so as to jump right into the action. I suspect some of it is the anticipation of filming, etc. You can probably tell which episodes we filmed second on any given day. ;)

      In this fleet, Kraken's Providence "Invincible" has Electronic Countermeasures and Thermal Shields.
