Thanks for this demo! It's really great to keep up with emerging competition for the tools we use. I wasn't thinking much of Metrica until you demo'd the "Session Replay" feature. That could conceivably have a huge impact on usability testing (efficiency and robustness). I wonder what happens when that feature becomes well known to Western consumers and regulators. There doesn't seem to be anything harmful about the practice, but I can imagine many feeling (perhaps irrationally) that it's too invasive for comfort.
We also use Yandex metrica because we user Yandex Direct (adwords for yandex) to target Russia. If i'm not 100% mistaken (and it's possible that i am - because i'm not that familiar with the tool) you need to set up your conversions in metrica because there's no other way in yandex direct (like you can with Adwords using javascript code) or i just haven't found it. Is there a downfall in having Google Analytics and Metrica on your website at the same time? We do it now, but it might not be the best way?
I'm not a lawyer, but yes, I think you would need to do that in Germany. You are transmitting personal data to a 3rd party service and outside the country. So you might need to include that
in Google Analytics you have the Source/Medium view under Acquisition. But on yandex metrica i can only find Source...not Medium. Does Yandex Metrica really not have any info on Medium?
medium is a term made up by google analytics. I'm not sure if they have it, but if they don't then maybe they are storing the data somewhere else or have another term you need to use
thanks for the reply. I see. I dabbled a bit in the free version and it seems like YM doesnt have its own grouping for it, instead you can choose to see sub-info about (for example) CPC and there it will show you Google Ads and Bing Ads (the two "mediums"). I wish YA would have an option to show this in the main view instead of having to manually open up sub-views. @@MeasureSchool
As Google omits the keyword information from organic clickouts, when they are coming from a https requested search, there is no way that Yandex could pick up the information from Google organic searches.
No, it is good that YM is becoming more well-known abroad. And Metrica is a most used analytics tool in CIS. For example in Russia it has 78% market share.
Hello yandex metrica not see my form. I click analysis form and i see text " No Data". How fix this ? Please help me

I haven't found obvious downsides
Which analytics tool do you prefer: Google Analytics or Yandex Metrica?
I guess most people use Google Analytics, Yandex is more popular in CIS countries..
I can not speak for the author, but I use Google Analytics 80% AND Yandex for 20%.
Hey Julian,
do you have to change your privacy policy if you use yandex metrica?

How is their keywords metric? because in google analytics 80% of the keywords are hidden (not provided)
well... for Yandex it's pretty good, but GA still hides the keywords also in this tool
As Google omits the keyword information from organic clickouts, when they are coming from a https requested search, there is no way that Yandex could pick up the information from Google organic searches.
Hey sir, can I use both platforms on my WEB??
sure
yes, you can. I do that for my websites.
I LIKE YANDEX METRICA..
Thank you for your work but GA for CIS the most powerful tool. So, Did Yandex pay for the review? :)
