      I haven't watched the video yet but.... If a team has traded out of the first round, why the hell wouldn't you bid on these players? If the first pick Brisbane have is pick 27 and Essendon 28, bid at pick 1 or 2 (if you need that player type). What are they going to do take next available talent? At 27?! If a team completely commits to a academy/father son you have a free hit to bring your late picks forward. Where does Adelaide's pick 64 land after those picks get eaten up? It will raise the value for the bid on Welsh considerably won't it? Am I missing something?!

    • @biggi3st3v3
      @biggi3st3v3 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@el-violador yes, ur missing the fact that all the clubs like to play nice when it comes to academy and father son bids because they figure if they screw a team by bidding high, then the other teams will screw them in the future. Also, for players not named levi ashcroft, nobody's going to bid on a player they don't actually want, that would just be petty and would also invite retaliation in the future. Teams will bid if they actually rate a player at that pick and would recruit them if the other team doesn't choose to match. Josh dunkley is a great example of that

    As a Tiger Fan I wouldn’t be trading to get pick 2. The Draft is to even to do that this year. Picks 1 ,6 , 10 , 11 &18 are very important for the Tigers 🐅 in this draft and I think would be a massive mistake to part with any of those’s picks ? North would be a big winner out of that trade if that was to happen ? Yes it’s pick 2 you are giving up but getting 6 and 10 that could be as good as pick 2 or better ? In a very even year it is to much. Maybe a different Draft Year you would take that deal for pick 2 but not this year I don’t believe Richmond would be silly enough to do that in this draft. I do think with the right deal Clubs could get picks 20 , 23 & 24 off us for deal of first rounder picks for next years draft ? No Second Rounders picks for next year that would be a waste of our time for 20 , 23 , 24. I would be happy to take all are picks in this draft. 🏆17 🏆19 🏆20

As for Travagalia he won’t get past 10 and 11 if still available at the Tigers choice you would probably need to trade higher up again like getting Melbourne pick 5 or St Kilda pick 7 or 8 if you want Travaglia ? Not that I want to help you out on that because I want to see him at the Tigers 🐅 but just saying the truth. Pick 2 and F2nd for picks 6, 10 and 23 makes ALOT of sense Daz (and I'm genuinely saying this with my North cap off here [tho it is great])
    From a rebuilding perspective though it ticks every box! And getting a future second (high one at that) it makes all the more difference in a SPREAD of talent across the first few yrs of a rebuild.
    Richmond fans plus a few others, losing their minds over that are just thinking of the now in what's a SINGLE draft. Of course its a deep one and for Richmond to take the best two players in the draft for a tag team team tandem trick (say that 5 times really quick) your not just getting a premium punch fir the next 10-15yrs your getting the best opportunity from A REBUILDING PERSPECTIVE to draft inward. THROUGH THE SPINE.
    Which is exactly what you've done mate *chefs kiss perfecto. Teams will be looking for refinement and depth this year onwards people. Tassie looms and if any team can trade up for higher quality and higher chances to select in a draft, they're doing it.
    From a North perspective tho Richmond fans, trust me you DO NOT want to take all those 1st rounders into a draft. North went down that road and history is grim. I hear what you'll say "cause its North" and frankly yes.. along with Brisbane, Carlton, Melbourne etc near half the comp has gone through it and its no exception here.

    • @Womas161
      @Womas161 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah but your looking at it from a prospective of a normal draft and it's not a good deal for richmond at all we will be giving you potential travaglia and maybe shanahan for finn thats madness we need more than mids we need kpp players aswell you didn't take your north hat off at all your 2nd rounder nect year in a significantly compromised draft means nothing when we will have the pick before it.
      A fair trade is either 6 and 18 or
      10 and 18 and 20 then you get 3 pick an we move up in an even draft but to give you 2 first rounders to live 4 spots is nuts we don't need to do that trade at all you guys do. Also if you use pick 2 it will likely be on a kpp in tauru or Armstrong then we get one of the elite mids anyway.
      As I said we won't care for your 2nd rounder next year that won't even move the needle. Just my opinion and yes my richmond hat is still on but points wise those trades are similar..
      And wce set the price for a top pick this year with 12 and 14 so no way we give up 6 and 10 there is no chance for that. And as you said with tassie around the corner we need as many top picks as possible like you guys do

      @ShadowLight-kn7rl วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Womas161 no no I completely understand on what your saying. I do strongly disagree on several points though.
      - I took this deep draft into account especially with the idea that if Richmond do in fact make this trade, then it strictly narrows the mindset of targeting KPP'S and from there Richmond can in fact recruit players for their future spin even after a trade with North.
      - I did take my North cap off. Whether you believe that or not is strictly how the domino's fall. Another reason this trade works for Richmond though is they're not hetching their bets off this singular draft. Dosn't matter how deep a draft is who recruit 8 draftees you've got 8 players who are most more than likely coming out if contract the same time. We can be generous and say they sign extensions at a staggered rate but the level of talent and development or lack of, is the same.
      It's like what Daz said though. Richmond can land two of the best three Midfielders in tbe draft and fill out their spin for the next 10-15yrs. That's done with KPP's
      To address your mention of WC setting a standard of dealing a top 3 pick, being honest, WC screwed themselves over in that deal. Having two players they could've signed for nothing as part of it significantly devalued pick 3.
      You raise an interesting debate, though I strongly disagree with what you've said. That as it may be, it's a good hypothetical to debate over and will be more interesting to see how things go

    • @Womas161
      @Womas161 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ShadowLight-kn7rl fair point in regard to kpp players and a future move afterwards melbourne getting 2 picks inside the 10 really threw a spanner in the works in regards to kpp players.
      I like the debate because there are so many different avenues /opinions aswell I do enjoy this time of year. I just no I can come across as arrogant instead of passionate sometimes 🤣🤣
      I just think where giving up alot to secure the top 2 in a very even 10 but I will concede our recruiters may think very differently. I have sensed we do want those 2 boys weather we give up so much remains to be seen but thats half the fun in the end 🤣
      Wc sure did shot themselves seemed like they should of just done the deal with us instead they would have pick 10 instead of 12 I'd suspect..
      I will throw up a crazy trade give me your thoughts
      We give you 6 10 and 11 and 20 for 2 and your future first or what would you change to get that deal done from your perspective but would get you guys all the kpp players you want in a stronger draft than next year which looks to be midfield heavy at the top again.
      Whilst we stagger top picks over 2 years making it easier to retain them in the long run.
      Completely hypothetical ofcourse I don't think it happens

    • @ShadowLight-kn7rl
      @ShadowLight-kn7rl วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Womas161 fully agree with what you said mate!!!
      In terms of your trade hypothetical, I think that's one too many picks given up. I agree on your thoughts that it's a strong draft. Hence why I took the direction that North's future 2nd though not a first rounder, it's points value as early second round pick will in fact be the same in value as this year's pick 20 (course its a liquid pick, though the projected value based off history looms promising lol)
      There is also the potential chance that a third party gets involved in this too as that is often the the case in what gets pick swap trades done more fluently.
      Be very exciting to see where things fall. I'll stand by my previous comment that granted at face value Richmond do give up a bit of something for getting something else. Same can be said for both parties tbh. Though for North it's more of a preference. We could certainly take pick 2 to the draft, tho that's probably not the most preferred direction.
      Bloody oath what a head scratcher 🤣 hopefully both sides come out if it for the better

    @ShadowLight-kn7rl วันที่ผ่านมา

    Love the trade Daz! Makes a whole lot of sense!!!
    Now. Armstrong, Trainor and M.Whitlock is spot on!!!
    Armstrong is the perfect student to Darlings master and the fact they both know how to use their bodies in the game means Harry can learn the dark arts from the get go while having the cover to make his own art work effective.
    Trainor is also a bargain get for North for every reason and pinch of culture too. So many people are sleeping on him and I get that, but its getting beyobd ridiculous. Tauru would be great, but if Trainor is on the board while Tauru isn't, you take Luke as he's just as good as Alix with the refinement of a tempered vision of play. It's the composure and precision North needs in a big man for the future as when Logue and Corr depart, W.Dawson and L.Trainor enter and go BANG!!!
    Matt Whitlock is the crème de la crème for North mate and I so wish he can land at the Roo's. Where Darling Mentors all the big kids for the forward line w/Larkey as teacgers aid, Matt makes the perfect shadiw to Charlie Comben. And that's what I'd have him do. Comben while down back predominantly I have no doubts he'll swing forward at times and be the perfect Utility at North. Whitlick is the perfect successor to that. And with Chom's injury sheet I have no doubt that Matt can become the same as he's strongest in defence but has shown to be a very capable forward. The blessing of a side with the continuous options of flipping a 3 pronged tall offence to Defence at the flip of a switch is a lethal combination and I am all for that for North mate.
    Loving your work mate! Keep up the good stuff!

      Amen 🙏 on that I agree Lalor and Langford would be good at picks 1. & 6 if Langford is gone before 6 Smillie could be at 6 for the Tigers but one to watch is Harry Armstrong Richmond would be keen for the Tall Forward and may not be able to get him unless that get him at pick 6 ? Even that may not be enough as Melbourne may select him at pick 5. This is what I would do with Richmond picks if it was up to me and theses players were available at theses selections? Pick 1 Lalor , Pick 6 Langford or Smillie , Pick 10 Travagalia , Pick 11 Armstrong or Trainor , Pick 18 Hotton , Pick 20 Berry , Pick 23 Whitlock or Shanahan , Pick 24 Dattoli. That to me would be a perfect draft by Richmond. We would have great Mids and two of the best Tall forwards one of the best tall backs and two of the best small forwards in Berry and Dattoli. In saying all this I would still be open for trades with picks 23 & 24 offers for 1st round picks in next years draft only if Berry and Dattoli are not available there at 23 & 24 ? Respect the evaluation of each of the players, terrible trade for Richmond though. Don’t see any reason why they would do that trade. They can only take 5-6 players and pick 24, the start of round 2 will 100% be traded as it will more than likely be a hot commodity to other teams targeting someone who slipped, likely first round pick plus extra. If it’s 3 picks to NM surely 10, 18 and 20. North don’t need pick 2 as they need to target talls, allowing them to aim for Tauru/Trainor and Matt Whitlock later as well as best player available with 3rd. Worst case Richmond could offer 10 and 11 if saints come with an offer of splitting one of their picks with gws. Really want Richmond to get Fos and Lalor, but trading pick 6 plus 2 picks makes zero sense, maybe if norths future first was involved but even then it seems like too much in a deep and evenly based draft, not to mention how desperate teams are to get back into this draft.

      @@BigCatinBKK sure, I agree. Allen projects as one of the most ready to go players in the draft In our current midfield we have both Johnson and Erasmus holding their breath until Fyfe retires plus we have Brodie with 2 more years on his contract.
      I'm not a fan of bringing in first round picks and not having some kind of development pathway for them Erasmus is a case in point: best player this year in the WAFL and best in the WAFL Grand final, but can't get a game at the top level.
      Travaglia, Lyndsay, Berry, Hannaford: all hit areas of actual need for us. Pace, skills, forward impact.
      But Allen is a very decent prospect.

      @@BigCatinBKK what he said was Allen is a really good fit, not that he is best available. I don't think he is either a good fit, nor is he best available.
      I think it is around the top of Allen's range IF a club believes he transitions into the midfield. And midfield is not an area we need someone of his type We have depth there who cannot get an opportunity. Erasmus, Johnson and Brodie, with only Fyfe looking to exit. O'Meara can't get a go there. We need players who will impact forward of centre with speed, football IQ and good delivery.

    The tin rattling tigers, scream “save our skins” in one of the most overrated drafts in recent memory. What a shit year to have 8 first round picks. Be trading for pick 2 in a heart beat. I’d give up 3 inside the 18 to get it done. The top 5 are guaranteed 200+ gamers. The rest are a gamble.

    Ehhhh. I don’t love it, I’m still sooking since west coast have pretty much traded out of this draft, but I’m questioning a few if these picks. Nothing against it, I just feel like a few of them Richmond picks should be smaller, mids and forwards.
    I know west coast delisted witherdern, but I’m completely against picking travallia if Allan is still on the table. I’m big on him being that dash off half back, his got a big body too, something the eagles are really going to lack down there after gov, if he developed into a third tall back man, something to replace rotham with would be another ideal scenario. I liked it when they were playing him down there in the peel colours, he looked really composed down there. It gives me Daniel curtin vibes, I know west coast were looking to trade up out of this year to try and acquire him, and we still haven’t found that guy. 🤷‍♂️

      He wouldn't be a mid though. Would start at a point across the square so for the Dockers, he wouldn't need to start straight away and could slot on a wing or HF.
      Not every 1st round pick needs to play Rd 1
