      my grand ma has a fridge from the 60s and still makes ice and woks 100%, how the in the world LG can not make a fridge in the year 2020 that does not brake down with in 3-4 years. something its no right , cutting corners and cheap material to make more money. instead of making something good that will bring new costumers . THE BEST advertisement is to make a good product. but brutal capitalism in usa wont allow it and LG loves it. take the money and run. you guys dont care.

      My Lg fridge not cooling or freezing been in use 2 years...r they garbage help.....google many complaints with compressor replacement....can't get anyone out till next Thursdays....

      @@evapresswood7697 ya they make terrible refrigerators. Only thing you can do at this point is learn from the mistake and steer clear of LG in the future. Be careful of melting and condensation that pools on the floor if you have wood floors. You will be lucky if LG even compensates you for a fraction of the food cost that you lose and there is no way they will help replace anything else without you taking them to court.

      My 3 year old LG does not cool at all. I had to buy a new fridge today and I am finished with LG FOREVER. LG is a nightmare from hell.

      @@LGUSASupport I did. 6 months ago when I posted this comment. That was 3 months before it broke a second time after an LG technician “failed to completely repair the job.” Those are LG’s words by the way. So we sold it and went with another brand. Chose another brand for a new microwave and dishwasher since then as well. Your product is garbage and your customer service unfortunately ends the moment the initial transaction is complete. In a world of toxic corporations that abandon their obligation to their products lifespan, you take the cake.

    Is you fridge not cooling? Check first to see if it was made by LG. If yes, throw out fridge and buy anything else to resolve issue

    Do not ever buy an LG fridge. And by the way LG has handled this extremely wide known issue of their fridges not working and breaking down after a few years, where they try to act like there isn’t a problem, speaks volumes on the company as a whole so really I just wouldn’t buy an LG product at all.

      Bought the LFXC2476S in 2018 and in that time it has stopped cooling and all food lost. My Coleman cooler has destroyed less food than my $2000 LG refrigerator. Since this is the third time that their garbage product has stopped working, I've already tried all the tests, cleaning, etc. & just by looking at any social media platform, you can see that they were fully aware of the linear compressor problem but chose to ignore it instead of doing a recall.
      I just can't imagine how they can sell products knowing full well that it is garbage and will fail within six months of the warranty expiration... oh, that's why you kept hassling me about buying the extended Warranty , got it. it's because you knew that your product is so bad that there was a good chance it might not work a year and a half after purchase.
      I know that they will probably reach out & try to solve my issue, but it always ends the same: They suggest I call a repair person (it started working again both times).
      They told me they would pay for the lost food... as long as I had a receipt.
      Good riddance LG, you are terrible in every way.

    My issue was fridge too warm, freezer around 0. The evaporator fan (at the top of the inside) can be crap from the factory. Had this happen with a 20.2 cu ft - good compressor, fan would run for a while and stop. The evaporator fan up top and the condenser fan underneath should be on anytime the compressor is running. Beware the 3 pin/4 pin fan problem, if you have a 4 pin fan in a LTCS20020S, (edited for typo in model, transposed 2 letters) LG's own factory manuals and circuit diagrams call out a 3 pin fan that is mechanically superior but the connectors won't mate. Either find the correct 4 pin fan by using the part # on the old fan or don't populate the yellow wire as it appears to be unused in that specific model. Older models will have the correct 3 pin receptacle.
    Once the fan was correctly replaced by a competent electrician [although it's a 12 volt fan and you did unplug your fridge first, right?] cold air is again circulating through the defrosted coils that had loaded with ice because air wasn't moving.
    A faulty fan can also inhibit test mode, so don't automatically believe that your refrigerator needs a new circuit board because it won't go into test mode. Test mode also has a tendency to get an intermittent/failing fan to run for about 10 seconds then shut off. This fan is responsible for all your cold moving through the unit, don't cheap out on a cheap aftermarket unit, the service part was more robust than the factory part.

Don't have time to wait for A&E Appliance Rapists to compound poor quality control with gross incompetence that has garnered them a solid 1 star review. No one believes you actually care about anything but the appearance of caring about customer service.

    My fridge is not cooling and the freezer is frosting up the fan is working but it's not defrosting, I checked to see if the hole from the freezer to the refrigerator was blocked but wasn't, I cant make sense of it why isn't the cold air going into the refrigerator? Everyone I've asked say it's the fan but its working fine

    So frustrated with my LG fridge. Bought it in 2017 and the freezer is no longer getting cold enough to freeze food. When you spend this much on a brand new appliance, you shouldnt have to worry about having to replace it 5 years later. Wasnt there a class action law suit about the compressors LG used? Hopefully, they can help repair.

      Well, the good news is that that means your freezer is still cooling. We have a couple more questions to keep narrowing down the cause of the issue you're experiencing. Is your unit installed in your kitchen, and if so, is it in a built-in cabinet? Additionally, could you please confirm the temperature setting on both your refrigerator and freezer, and check along the door seals on both for any rips or tears? ^Ian

      Alright, thank you for confirming those steps. Next could you please use either your refrigerator's push switch or magnetic switch to imitate the door being closed, then once the light is turned off, reach above the top shelf and place your hand over the vent? We'll need to see if the vent is still blowing cold air. If it is, please double-check if your fridge is level, and if it is level, could you please confirm if there are any signs of frost build up inside your unit? Be sure to look in both the refrigerator and the freezer. ^Ian

    Got a 4k dollar LG fridge last year, 14 months later the compressor has gone out. It is covered under warranty still but doesn't give me much hope.

    Do not buy LG refrigerators! Do your own research their compressors fail in three years very typical and their customer service is absolutely nonexistent our refrigerator has been out of commission for a month and a half now and I hope to hear back from them in 2 to 3 weeks for some sort of resolutionAnd this is from the consumer relations office of the president this is absolutely ridiculous and look for yourself I’m not the only one.

    My freezer and refrigerator stopped working but fix it. It sounded as if it was working but not cooling. Disconnect the refrigerator. Open the drawer, pull the tray, get your hair dryer, get a flashlight - you will see some ice build up on that area against the wall, aim your hair dryer to the orifice, set up a timer for 5 minutes. Hold hair dryer with the food boxes you have there or by hand. After 5 minutes change the aiming slightly...set the timer for 3 minutes, let the hair dryer rest, do another 3 minutes, turn it off and let the refrigerator disconnected for 30 minutes leaving the drawer open. Fix everything back to normal, turn on the electricity again. (Under the drawer there will be pieces of ice and melted water, dry it out.) That worked for me, I hope it helps you!

    Just had the condenser replaced yesterday...fridge will not get below 47 degrees and freezer won't go below 23 degrees...so I still don't have a fridge that works. Now what?

    Update: After Refrigerator #1 had its defective part replaced [the entire refrigerator] and I got one with a good compressor and immediately replaced the evaporator fan that wouldn't run at my own expense because I hadn't had a functional refrigerator since I took out my 40-year old Amana on June 18th (about 5 weeks ago) that still worked but was an eyesore, my refrigerator is currently cold enough to credibly be referred to as a refrigerator. So, if you make the masochistic decision to buy an LG refrigerator, just know that if you throw enough money at the problem you can get what is the minimum expectation of refrigerator ownership, which is a refrigerator that won't turn all your food into a bioweapon.

    Our fridge stopped cooling two nights ago. We lost everything in the freezer, and most of the food on the fridge side. LG is sending out a tech, but it won’t be for FIVE DAYS. It just blows warm air. Symptoms of the junk linear compressor. We’re getting service under the extended warranty put in place due to the class action lawsuit brought against LG. No promise that the new one will be a better design. The rep checked for an outside vendor, but that appointment was even further out. Very upset at this. This is expensive, time consuming and we need to get a small temp fridge for the interim. I’m hearing Samsung calling……. Do we want to do this again?

      Get used to waiting ours has been out for a month and a half now no resolution yet LG customer support is absolutely nonexistent but that LG customer service reply will say we’re here to help good luck with that.

    Bought an appliance package with super quiet diswasher, over stove microwave, stove, and one of these fridges. Diswasher went out 1.5 yrs and required 2 motor replacements (it's loud now but works), microwave required control board 2.5 yrs after purchase, stove required control unit of oven replaced at 3 yrs, and now this fridge mfg 04: 2018 so just outside the class action has a dead compressor at just about 4 yrs. The repair guy came and said 1200-1500k for parts and labor. Said throw it away and get a different one. Don't buy LG.

    This is so frustrating!! My compressor went out, had a service company come out to confirm a week and a day ago and now they are saying the compressor is back ordered?? I have called LG 3 times and finally got someone in their "Presidential Liaison" department that is supposed to be figuring out what is going on. Now I can't get anyone to call me back. My fridge is 4 years old and thankfully the warranty is 5 years. It's going on 2 1/2 weeks without a working fridge. What to do now? Just keep waiting?? And with the long holiday weekend this weekend, I want someone to actually work on this. HELP????

    I tried calling lg about our refrigerator. It was a waste of time. They basically say close the doors. I called a repair man and he said don’t buy LG because they don’t last and customer service is terrible. Unfortunately we’ve already bought numerous LG products because we own rental properties. Time to switch to something else.

    My freezer is no longer freezing after 3 years. It's only as cold as the refrigerator side. Unit is clean, aligned, and free of frost. Support is poor. They couldn't even send a technician. Said I had to call in a week to schedule. Terrible. If they charge me for this repair, I'll just destroy the fridge and find a better brand to support. Great TVs, though.

      Support in my country took the fridge charged 100$ for pickup and deliver back, charged 100$ for repair, soon after the same problem came back - for a product with 10 year warranty on inverter, they sure do not guarantee usability for 10 years

      Bought the LFXC2476S in 2018 and in that time it has stopped cooling and all food lost. My Coleman cooler has destroyed less food than my $2000 LG refrigerator. Since this is the third time that their garbage product has stopped working, I've already tried all the tests, cleaning, etc. & just by looking at any social media platform, you can see that they were fully aware of the linear compressor problem but chose to ignore it instead of doing a recall.
      I just can't imagine how they can sell products knowing full well that it is garbage and will fail within six months of the warranty expiration... oh, that's why you kept hassling me about buying the extended Warranty , got it. it's because you knew that your product is so bad that there was a good chance it might not work a year and a half after purchase.
      I know that they will probably reach out & try to solve my issue, but it always ends the same: They suggest I call a repair person (it started working again both times).
      They told me they would pay for the lost food... as long as I had a receipt.
      Good riddance LG, you are terrible in every way.

    My fridge would cool to 60 and freezer to 40. I watched multiple videos and tried all the tips. All said and done, no change. Fans work, coil is clean and so on. Still won’t cool to where it should be. Everything is clean now and sounds normal but still won’t work. My LG French Door was built in 2017 and I called in my claim in Oct of 2022. Clearly out of warranty.
    Without an argument, LG is sending someone out this week (parts and labor included) at no charge. They will also reimburse me for food spoilage (take photos of the waist).

    My freezer portion is set to zero degrees. When I check the internal temperature with my temperature probe it’s only reading 22 degrees. Called a technician and he said the problem is the compressor. I find that hard to believe and know it’s a lie. My fridge is on 3 years old.

    Did not do our research and bought our LG refrigerator in 2017, lasted for a good amount of time, the compressor finally gave out, but the compressor was still under warranty for few more years, glad customer service was able to help and did not give me a hard time since I didn't couldn't find my receipt at least an estimate date, was able to get a tech in 4 days, of course there was a fee, frig is back to cooling again, they say compressor supposed to better and stronger this time, shall wait and see!

    Wasted $450 on 'repairing' a LG fridge with LG workers with non working compressor (classic LG) and electircal board.
    Replaced the compressor and "repaired" the electrical board.
    After the "reparing" the electrical board, the temperature display and system didn't even turn on 🤣
    The cooling and freezing did work for one fucking week and suddenly stopped working again and the temperature display that didnt work, you remember that? Now it randomly started flickering for no reason.
    450USD for something that since the moment they "repaired", already started failing, thanks.

    I have a brand new LG Refrigerator. It is now 13 months old. Exactly 1 month past warranty and like magic it is not making near enough ice. None of your basic fix solution mentioned in this video do anything.. Is it plugged in??? Really? Here is an idea... maybe make a refrigerator that actually makes ice???

    First thing I noticed was the Linear Compressor logo. LG lost a class action lawsuit suit over them. I’ve had nothing but trouble with mine and they replaced the compressor,evaporator and condenser and I’ve had it ice up so bad it took me 3 hours to melt the ice twice! Never buy an LG refrigerator!

    DONT BUY AN LG FRIDGE. They are pretty and on paper look great BUT THEY ARE POORLY ENGINEERED. Even the new compressors fail, and don't get me started on their defrost cycle (WHICH THIS VIDEO MENTIONS).

    12 months after buying LG fridge the compressor breaks. Repair guy fixed it 3.5 months ago. Bow its acting up again.
    All products in tidays age are absolute garbage

      Bought the LFXC2476S in 2018 and in that time it has stopped cooling and all food lost. My Coleman cooler has destroyed less food than my $2000 LG refrigerator. Since this is the third time that their garbage product has stopped working, I've already tried all the tests, cleaning, etc. & just by looking at any social media platform, you can see that they were fully aware of the linear compressor problem but chose to ignore it instead of doing a recall.
      I just can't imagine how they can sell products knowing full well that it is garbage and will fail within six months of the warranty expiration... oh, that's why you kept hassling me about buying the extended Warranty , got it. it's because you knew that your product is so bad that there was a good chance it might not work a year and a half after purchase.
      I know that they will probably reach out & try to solve my issue, but it always ends the same: They suggest I call a repair person (it started working again both times).
      They told me they would pay for the lost food... as long as I had a receipt.
      Good riddance LG, you are terrible in every way.

    LG is not a refrigerator, it is electrical cupboard. Don't try to buy any. I am crying with one whose compressor is not working

    The old fridge can work 20 years easely, your fridge are the worse fridge in the market, I got bad expérience, and advise any one to avoid any New fridge, its juste waste of mony

      Before LG made linear compressors, they're old or other compressor is not an inverter but its just a normal conventional compressor, those conventional compressors were so much better.

    Do not. I repeat DO NOT buy anything LG. They will not hold up their warranty. There’s a reason nobody wants to work on them. Oh and check out the class action lawsuit!!! Just another crappy Korean company.

      And when contacting support, the only option is a $500 flat fee service call as of March 2023. After losing my second entire fridge and freezer full of food, I will never get another lg product!
