Hi! I would be very surprised if they added yet another model to this particular line up of ATEM Minis, but if anything a 4K version? maybe something closer to the ATEM television and the Roland VR-4HD. There is lots of demand for self production now days, it would be cool too see something innovative from them again, that’s affordable.
Technoramus Thanks for putting the video together. I’ve been thinking about getting one. Does the video and the audio work in real time or do you need to setup a delay in the software? I already have the Rode Caster Pro for audio so I’m looking for a good video solution.
Hey Fern! Thank you so much for this video. This is litterally the best video after watching many, explaining and covering what I’m going to be getting in an easy way to understand. THANK YOU. Quick question, Am I able to take just the audio from this device after recording? Asking because I want to publish just the audio on certain platforms. Please let me know, I’d really appreciate it!
Thank you! I really appreciate your feedback. All the video tracks have their own independent sound track so, yes, you could take the audio from there. In the past, I’ve taken the sound track from videos using Premiere directly in Audition and made them into audio only podcasts.
Great video. I have been looking into this unit for a while to get other's input. In your video, you did mention a con on the 3.5mm audio input. The actual form factor of the jack is not a problem. The 3.5mm jack is a balanced jack ( TRS ), which is good, so connecting an audio mixed to it that use XLR jack requires an XLR to 3.5mm cable. Just mentioning so not to confuse others. :)
Great review and in-depth explanation. From what I understand, I order to get the 4 ISO plus the program, the device needs to be hooked up to a computer to change the settings. Is that correct? Is there a way to change the record source settings without a computer?
Hi there, that is one of the down sides of the device, to fully customise it or modify settings, you must use the software provided. The device is primarily the live interface, while the settings and preparation will have to be performed prior or during recording via the ATEM Control software. Once all the settings are done it is fairly easy to cut from camera to camera. If you are looking for something similar but with settings on board, i would recommend you check out the Roland VR-1HD th-cam.com/video/8iu_OMQ9jKQ/w-d-xo.html
That’s the amazing thing about the ATEM , it’s got its own streaming service, so you configure the platform, TH-cam Facebook etc, then it’s programmed into the box. No need for a computer from then on just press the go live button and it’s streaming. You can simultaneously record the ISO to your HDD via USB-C and control settings via the ATEM software on your pc
@@FernLecaros Aha!! If I wanted to play a countdown video before the stream, would I play the video from a computer into the Atem to HDMI 4, say, then when the presentation starts just switch to Camera 1? I’m trying to get my head around it. 😄
@@CharlesBudd you probably have a couple of options, 1 is play a pre recorded screen and timer, or stream something from your PC directly, the original Mini has 4 HDMI ports, you can use one of these for your pre video timer.
Excellent video, great audio, Thank you I'm going to get the ISO, but I'm just a beginner, would you suggest me cameras and mics please, Thank you very much.
Hi there! Yes that’s totally possible, but it’s not onboard, you have to use the provided ATEM software control, the feature is called Advanced Chroma Key.
Hi ! No it records anything coming via the HDMI. The device has some cool features if you happen to have BMD cameras, where it allows you to control them remotely.
Hi, the ISOs only record to a SSD directly connected to the USB C port, someone did tell me they managed to connect to their NAS to the ATEM via USB C and record there. In saying that, given the right configuration you can do anything with the computer as long as it has a fast USB C port. It would be a good research project.
So, when you use the iso to stream onto a Mac as though it were a webcam, do you only get the program feed as a "webcam", OR can you get all 5 feeds as 5 independent "webcams"?
Just the main / master output only. There is nothing stopping you from changing the feeds going through the webcam. You can record the independent streams to a hdd.
Nice video that doesn't have massive technojargon like many others. SImple yet understandable and effective descriptions! Excellent!
Glad it was helpful!
I have not have time to unbox mine yet, great review. Thanks for the effort
love the video and love all the D&D 5th additions in the back ground!!!
Love D&D
Thanks for the great review. Really good info about the device in a very digestible format. Appreciate it.
Thanks mate, great video. Very helpful.
thank you this was very useful
Fantastic video. Thank you for your info and effort.. Great stuff
Great video, amazing sound as always very informative
Few more youtubers expect a new model by December or April 2021 with extra buttons what’s your thoughts on this..

Awesome Video. Great reveiw how easy is it to sync audio with video. Does it do it automatically inside device.

@@FernLecaros, Thanks, I will go check it out. :-)
What a great Video! Thank You!
Can Atem Mini Pro Iso do independing recording of four hdmi inputs. That is, start and stop the four recordings separately? Thanks.
Great run through. I’m still not sure - can you stream and record at the same time if there’s only one USB C output?
Yeah, you stream via Ethernet.
@@FernLecaros Ahhh - to the computer or straight to the internet or both?

Very interesting video! Is the recording to the Hard drive restricted to Blackmagic Cameras only?
From other videos I've seen it isn't, no. Someone who has it can confirm though.

Great video. Thank you.
Can I download the ATEM software for free on any computer?
Gibt es das Video auch aufr Deutsch?
Does the ISO also expose the 4 feeds as 4 separate web-cameras over usb?
Hi there, unfortunately not, it only feeds the active camera from the switch. Multi feeds would have to be compiled in post.
@@FernLecaros thanks for clarifying this
what are the equipment used in this video?
what is the recorded quality like?
1080p but very crisp and clean audio👍🏼

Thanks. Do you know if something like Black Syphon could do it?
Might have to do some technoramus research on that one ;)
🙌🙌🙌
good information but too slow pace for me!!! thanks though... I need more excitement and great content to stay for the whole video!!!... cheers...
Thanks William. It’s a very comprehensive product, I couldn’t have done it justice with the Peter McKinnon treatment. Thanks again.
I would say they are different tiers and not different generations ;)
Great point!
This was great! Thank you!
