Going on a mezcal tour in Oaxaca was one of the most fascinating experiences we had during our Oaxaca stay.
On this Oaxaca mezcal tour, we show the process of making mezcal at Geu Beez an artisanal mezcal distillery. Crispín and his son Daniel, welcomed us to their palenque or mezcal distillery. Along with one of their employees, we found them hard at work.
This is Claire and Rosemary from Authentic Food Quest exploring local culture through food, in your kitchen or on your travels.
Crispín, we learned, is known as a “maestro mezcalero.” This is a term given to those who have learned from generation to generation the mezcal craft manifested into incredible mezcals.
Daniel, Crispín’s son, who works alongside him, would be a 4th generation future mezcal producer.
Thank you to our friend Maggie for this Oaxaca mezcal tour. And her friend Daniela for introducing us to Daniel and Crispín García MÃĐndez.
    Thank you for watching.

@@authenticfoodquest yes he did! The town in which you guys filmed your video is San Dionisio Ocotepec. I remember he and my dad used to travel around to sell their product since mezcal faced hard times in the 80s and 90s. I was just a kid back then, then I moved to Mexico City and I completely forgot about mezcal till recently it became so popular everywhere even here in Los Angeles, CA thanks for responding. I’m gonna watch more of your vids.
