@NotPipi can you do animations film of how the flood took over and infected amber clad ship while infecting everyone even the crew and male/female soldiers into male/female combat forms?
It's not so much the graphics as it is the way they're used, the art style. Which the Anniversary butchered a fair bit. They used too many Reach assets that don't fit the tone or themes of CE, which the original assets were tailor made for. But if you take them out of context and look at them just in a vacuum, they tend to look noticeably worse. Though, honestly, I would stick to original graphics just for the comical amounts of blood.
@@Ohimeshinso to be fair to the anniversary using reach models a lot: reach takes palce directly before CE, so it makes sense the marines and equipment in CE would be the same as the ones in reach, though it was implemented poorly and had a lot of issues
That bit where Johnson was essentially comforting that infected Marine was honestly touching. It shows he knows whoever that marine was long gone, but if any part of them remained he wanted to end their suffering.
I want to see modders make a campaign with stories like First Strike and Breaking Quarantine as source material to sort of bridge the gap between Combat Evolved and Halo 2. These would make for some awesome cutscenes.
@@NotPipi Honestly, you CAN make an animation of the ENTIRE novel "First Strike" if you can do it with the help of Patrion. :) 😁👍 If you have time, you can check out this - The saga Fanfic / The Wormhole Chronicles crossover of Mass Effect and Halo by General Rage, and it’s quite an interesting story and maybe you’ll want to animate some scenes from the fic.
Oh man! THIS is something I've always wanted to see. Plenty of people say this already, but I appreciate your use of classic graphics. Stays faithful to the original vision. :D
@ 2:53 That part is sad cuz Johnson still saw him as a fellow marine. Also the marine still had enough control over his body at that time to basically be like "its ok, end me"
Really great hope we get more !! If I recall Jenkins some how fought the infection & helped a bit later on & died helping marines can’t remember gota love Halo Lore
I just want you to know. I love this more than halo followers animations. His noncanon events are just not making sense. These actually pay respect to the best halo stories, without straying from the source material ❤️
I'm not a sub, but I support anyone who will not let the memory of Sergent Johnson fade away! He was the real hero of Halo, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise!
The animation, though a tiny but rough, is quite brilliant. And the…voice sampling? was done very well. This wouldn’t look at all out of place in the OG Campaign.
Loved that no look grenade toss by Johnson, perfectly animated. Lots of character, the one AI johnson voice line has a weird pause mid sentence but its not a huge deal. Well done!
Thats absolutely incredible. For the first time, we get to actually SEE how Johnson escape and in original graphicas to. The ai voice over for Johnson is obvious but still amazing. 😊
Glad to see someone animate Johnson's return in the First Strike novel. It's crazy how A.I. can help people do voices now. They have some improving to do, but already great. And great animation with the Flood btw. Really nice.
Can’t remember if a fan theory or in the lore. But if you go to an alternative lift, that lift comes crashing down in pieces. That was actually Johnson blowing up the lift to hopefully keep the flood underground. Meaning you were only steps behind him.
This is how Halo 2 should have started. Thus having a long lasting saga, with OG ideas as it should have been, and not the 343 scam bullshit that we ended getting instead. Imagine this story expansion with H2 graphics. With this quality content i may become a patreon to support your dedication and passion to Halo.
Im embarrassed to admit have much ive rewatched this. Johnsons survival of the first halo ring was one of the most perplexing Halo mysteries and you managed to bring it to life really well!
Very neat idea! I like the closeness to the book. I think the AI-voicing wasn't too bad. The overall video could be a little more fast-paced, but the custom animation is NOT easy! Great work, and I'm excited to see the next animation! I think the story in The Flood where the UNSC assaults and scavenges The Autumn would be a cool video!
Incredible work, just incredible. I'm happy to see someone like you continueing to show the love for this franchise, as you are one of the very few keeping it alive.
Man... Absolutely gorgeous! Way to stick to the lore from the Halo Graphic Novel! Much love and respect for this masterpiece and the people behind it. From an old and jaded Halo fan.
2:15 just a little detailed i noticed here, perhaps that flood form turning off the light bridge is jenkins. I can’t remember exactly where or which book it was, but jenkins was infected by a really old infection form that had been the sample that the forerunners had saved away for thousands of years, and so when it infected him it didn’t fully take control and he was still to some extent control himself, although in agony. And so he was able to help johnson escape
Pretty lore accurate, was about to say about Jenkins, but forgot that combat forms can get up. Jenkins doesn’t fully turn and retains some of his consciousness, “The Flood” goes into detail about it
Came here from HiddenXperia, I hope his video on your work gets you some more recognition because this stuff is awesome It also reminds me of how easy the tv show could’ve been and infuriates me even more they went the route they did
"I should also tell you i made it to the pillar of Autumn, it blew up next to me, but I cunningly held onto an Elite i had in my bear hug and blocked the blast. Later I found this Pelican"
SO damn good! The animation, the lighting, the pacing, all amazingly superb!! Only thing I would say is that it would be more impactful if Johnson actually fell when the lightbridge was disabled, and only caught onto the edge of the opposing platform with his hands at the last second. It's a bit weird that he coincidentally jumps for no reason at the same time as the flood disables it, because he's not looking back and therefore couldn't be expecting them to do that. Would be great if we can get smoother and more believable AI voiceovers in the future, or maybe even the original VAs eventually when your channel gets bigger! And it will get bigger, your work is incredible and only getting better over time. Muy bien !
It follows a novel, I believe its the one before operation first strike, I never read it, but I did read the graphic novel this follows a while back, and johnson does jump just as the bridge flickers out.
@@orangezilla247 Fair enough, but still, why? How would he know to jump? If there's a reason, it needs to be better shown in the animation. Maybe a shot from underneath the bridge, or a shot near his feet as he is running where it's focused on his reflection - which he suddenly notices is fading - so he realises the bridge is about to cut out and therefore jumps? It just feels like too much of a coincidence currently. But I mean it's a minor gripe, the video is a masterpiece overall anyway
It was Jenkins attacking him that threw him out of the room and he wouldn't have saw behind him and knew to jump before the light bridge went out but great work bringing First Strike to life. An alternate Halo 2 intro cutscene could've started off with snippets of something like this if it included the events of FS and flashbacks of Johnson's escape.
This was really cool, I like the combining of several different Halo media (the game itself, First Strike, the graphic novel) like this. The AI voices sounded sort of weird but it was still a cool way to see the novel dialogue brought into audio and stuff.
Just how I imagined since halo 2 about Johnson escaping the flood and keeping it classified as a mastery. you deserve a praise for this video good sir. *Salute*

Johnson should have his mini campaign on HALO CE REMAKE
That bit where Johnson was essentially comforting that infected Marine was honestly touching. It shows he knows whoever that marine was long gone, but if any part of them remained he wanted to end their suffering.
