I saw this in passing on my computer a day ago but was not able to watch it at the time,however this morning I decided to begin it knowing that Jeremy Brett was in the series but on starting to watch was surprised & delighted to see Vanessa Redgrave as Katherine Mansfield..what an amazing pairing Brett & Redgrave together ❤️🩷🌸☘️ I shall try to last this as an episode each day seeing them together is a treat for my eyes & ears x x

Did not know. He was married at one time to Anna Massey, a constant presence in Masterpiece theater productions and te daughter of Raymond Massey (East of Eden, Lincoln). Brett left her for a man. Brett had a wonderful career but battled severe depression.
@@paulmccarthy7461 It was only Anna Massey's claim that he left her for a man. How true is that? In Rebecca, Anna Massey plays the horrible housekeeper. She looked so old there but JB looked so suave and as usual very good performance by him. She acted well too I must say.

I was confused by the strange lack of continuity, so I researched. I read that each Episode has three segments. The first is about Mansfield's life. The other two are adaptations of her short stories. I'm not certain this is the form every time, it seems to vary. Nevertheless, when an episode takes a sudden turn and a title appears, I believe that begins a short story adaptation.
She lived in a Gurdjieff commune. I think at the end of her life. Had TB. Gurdjieff made a comeback late sixties, seventies among the spiritually inclined set.

Can't say I like this style. There is no introduction as to whether it is about her story or herself. I find it quite annoying actually.
