The most striking, piercing presentation of my 75 year old life. Bringing Lawrence, Virginia Woolf, Gurdjieff into the context of life is treasure. Landscapes of time and personality. And the lovely, gifted, genious of KM.
Absolutely terrific documentary! I recently exposed myself to Katherine Mansfield's work on a complete whim and I certainly haven't been disappointed. She truly was a gifted writer, one who pushed the envelope in ways none of her contemporaries did or could. This excellent program brilliantly and beautifully sheds some light on the genius behind these timeless stories. She sadly may have only been with us briefly, but boy, did she make the most of it.
She creates some of the best imagery I’ve ever read of any author of short stories. And I read many. Her ability to fully place the reader into a scene as if you could circle yourself around and view everything is astounding! It makes for great haunting stories.
A superb documentary about a superb writer, V, Woolf said Mansfield was a better writer than she was, True, There is also an interesting movie about K,M, called Leave All Fair with Gielgud/Birkin, K,M,s letters journals notebooks and criticism are also superb,, She and J,K, Baxter are grossly undervalued world class writers
I am not sure she said that Katherine was a better writer than she, but Woof was very jealous about her way to write, this what i have read and what she said after Katherine death
She captures the feminine feelings of restlessness and wanting more, counter to expectations of conformity and convention. Her stories are slices of the female experience that remain fresh.
I had more studied about the your a cup of tea story for my intermediate level from Diktel Multiple campus khotang. Complusory english in the this a cup of tea story. Great dear mam.
What a life, a short life: The fits and starts; the uncertainties; here, there, ending with Gurdjieff, and teetering between life and death. How’d she get anything done?
Dear great mam your good story for nowdays in the international politics and all human behaviour . Great Newzealand for women voting rights and human rights. हजुरहरू सबैलाई धेरै सम्झना छ।
As a fan of both her fictional work and her letters. What a treat. But let's be honest, we don't believe for one solitary second that she and LM weren't lovers.

Just speak for yourself!
Right
But then D.H. Lawrence said terrible, cruel things to Katherine. He had a definite crush on Murray.

Yes, women were going "to change things",...but still willing to send British men to the trenches, who didn't have full voter franchise themselves.
strange to put the narrator in various settings; false and annoying. Comes close to an unintentional mockumentary.
