Can someone please explain why the commodity Apples(A) are placed on the x axis even though it is sacrificing?
As ma'am said in the previous video that the sacrificing goods will be placed on the y axis

Formula of price ratio is in terms of price of both the commodities i.e. (Price of X)/ (Price of Y). But while giving example, you are dividing the price of X with Quantity of Y. Could not get that. And when I divide the price of X with Price of Y, the ratio is not same.

Mam u told us tht on Y axis we will take the sacrificed things and on X axis we will take the gain in quantities but here in the graphical representation u have taken sacrificed on X axis??? What is the reason mam here??

Just a little correction. By convention usually any point on the Cartesian space is written as (x,y) instead of the other way that you have written at 5:10

In a last lecture, u said that sacrificing commodity will be on Y-axis ,but in diagrammatic explaination of Budget line you have put apples(A) on X axis contradicting the fact that apples were being sacrificed to get additional units of Banana.

Hi there! Great question! To answer your question, you’ll need to use the formula for the equation of a line, which is y=mx+b. You’re given the slope of the budget line, which is m=-0.2. You’re also given the income, which is 600. Plugging both of these values into the equation, you’ll get -0.2x+600=0. Solving for x, you get x=3000. Since you want to know the amount spent on product Natis, you’ll need to divide 3000 by 2, which will give you 1500. Hope this helps!
