I think the authot should have explained how millie and enzo got together. Because in the first book when she tried to make a pass at enzo he was very offended (cuz of nina) but in this book they both were completely infatuated with each other. Which makes Enzo feel like nothing but a "male hero character" trying to fill that role, without knowing much about his character it felt very off.
I thought the same.
I think in the first book Enzo brushed her off because she wanted to do it up in the attic and he knew all the abuse that had gone on in there.
Dang I thought him and Nina ended up together
In the first book Nina asks Enzo to check on Millie
I actually liked the second one more than the first
I predicted the first book plot twist and then afterwards it felt like it dragged a little bit
The second book there was more plot twists that I couldn’t predict and could not predict at all where it was going to go and I loved that
I agree with you!
Thanks for the spoilers. I wasn't planning on reading the sequel. This helped me not feel like I'm missing out.
Love listening to books in a quick summary like this!! Would love to see you do more!!
In my opinion i loved both! Easy read and very entertaining
I loved the first one, the second one was so cringe and unrealistic 2 stars
You explained and summarized the book soooo well!! Seriously a lot going on and it wasn’t hard to follow when I read it, but some of it was a bit predictable for me.
Ive read it before I realized that the 1st book was an exact copy of The Last Mrs Parrish so I refused to support Freida Mcfadden anymore.Did some reasearch and found out that she does this on a regular, copy ideas of a book then do a bit of altering here and there. I actually deleted all of her books in my kindle. 🤷♂️
Interesting, I didn’t know this.
I’ve heard this sooo much. I picked up the first one before I read the last mrs. parrish and now that I’ve read that one, I just don’t want to pick up a book that has the exact same plot/trope. Such a bummer 😅
Same, I’m done with Frieda.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve read both of them… About a year ago and I just got the house made is watching today but because it’s been so long I wanted to refresh my memory without having to reread them, your reviews and the spoilers helped refresh my memory. I appreciate your review and I agree with some of the elements you were explaining. I definitely liked the first one more than the second, but now I am super excited to read the third and I’m excited to see you on. You now have a new follow or subscriber. 😊
Same!!! 🙃
I loveddd the seriess..and i agreed with a lot of your points..the second book had a few lose threads while the first one was a breeze to read nothing felt out of place...i would love some book suggestions in the thriller category
My recommendations for other books that are similar
• Verity
• Behind closed doors
• Behind her eyes
• The turn of the key
I wholeheartedly agree with your review of the Housemaid’s Secret. Well spoken and on point.
Hi there! I'm new to your channel and love it! Thank you.
Would love to see you read The Last Mrs. Parrish and its prequel and soon a sequel will be coming out as well 😊
Can I just say your ability to explain everything that makes my brain hurts is just phenomenal?? lol I tried reading the first book and just wasn't into it, it seemed so complicated and the second book seems even MORE complicated. I will probably give them another go at some point but sheesh. lol
Have you ever read Pen Pal by J T Geissinger??
Will watch this video later on when I finish both of these amazing books ❤❤❤
Your reviews are 🔥
I gave both books 5 stars! Highly recommend. While the second book wasn’t as good because it was basically the first book with similar sequencing of events, they are both so addictive to read!
I liked the second book more than the first
Oooh interesting 👀
Me too! The sequel has more plot twists.
I like the first one better. I just got the housemaid is watching yesterday & can’t wait to read
I read the first book.. I liked it a lot as it was pretty fast paced. Although I will skip the second book 😅
You took the words right out my head. I did not love this book compared to the first one. I feel like it almost made the first one feel cheesy now. I was very underwhelmed but still curious how the third one will be. Everything you said, is exactly how felt about it. I was frustrated at how naive Millie was. Clearly it wasn’t her very next job after the housemaid scandal but to the reader it felt like you said way too similar. Even the way Enzo was brought back into the picture was odd. Felt like an afterthought. I did enjoy both overall and it was fun little series to get into and to quickly read. These are my first Frieda McFadden reads and I am looking forward to reading more from her.
Please reply dear is it necessary to read those two ones?
I just cant read any more Freida books after the blatant copy of The Last Mrs Parrish. That doesnt seem to be the only book that is almost identical to other books.
I just finished the second book. I enjoyed it but it felt so dragged out up until the ending. The parts of Millie explaining her love life, and exposing her secret to her then bf seemed to go on forever. The part about her neighbor seemed useless. Don’t really like how the book ended so vague. I would love to know what’s next for Enzo and Millie, but I guess we would have to wait for the next book.
I read the first ❤and have the sequel on my tbr
I really can’t decide whether or not to read the sequel. I did enjoy the first book even though I found it annoyingly similar to The Last Mrs Parrish lol. I think I’ll save the sequel for when I’m in a reading slump cause it seems like an easy book to fly through!
I stopped supporting her after I found out that she does this on a regular.
In my opinion, the housemaids secret is wayyy better than the 1st one
I was not too interested in reading the books and now I know I will definitely not read them. Thanks for helping me save my time. ;)
To me, that sequel is a shameful copy-and-taste of the first one. I loved the 1st book, but this so-called sequel? Ugh.😪 The only reason I didn't DNF it was because I was listening to the audio and the 2nd book is shorter than the first one. But I did not like it and I do not recommend it. 😖
LOVED THE SEQUEL ❤
I felt like the sequel just went off the rails. Both are poorly written fast reads.
Honestly first books plot was so same to so many other books like parish one
I dont get the hype but it was okay
Loved the first book was super bored during the second.. still trying to make myself finish it.
I didn’t love it but I am happy I read it. It was pretty predictable to me.
Hey is there a 3rd housemaid book?? The housemaid is watching??
Do we know the whole story about the murder situation that put Millie in jail the first time? Did i miss that?
she killed a guy in a party because she finds him abusing her friend. its in the second part of the first book
Wow….too layered and complex for me 😂
I rated the first one a 4. The second one was so bad for me. I almost DNFed it but I finished it anyways. I rated it a 2.5.
I came here to find out the ending because this book just didn’t do it for me. Didn’t read the first book, dnf the second. Thanks for summing it up!
I'll be honest, I thought the first one was stupid and I gave it like a one or two-star rating on Goodreads.
Hahahhaha fair
I personally don't think its a worthy follow up...
