Texas School Rejects 'In God We Trust' Signs Featuring Arabic & Rainbows

  • Southlake, TX, parent Sravan Krishna confronted the local school board about a recent law requiring public schools in Texas to hang donated posters that read ‘In God We Trust’ on them. Krishna offered more ‘In God We Trust’ signs - only this time, one was written in Arabic and the other featured rainbow colors.
    The school board president promptly shut Krishna down, claiming the district doesn’t have to display more than one poster at a time and already had enough for each location. The law features no such stipulation.
    According to the Dallas Morning News, the posters the district already has were donated by a Christian tech company connected to a PAC that helped get conservatives elected to school boards across north Texas.

    • @marioluigi9599
      @marioluigi9599 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      It depends what you mean by "they should be separate". In America they can't be entirely separate because the constitution in the first amendment stipulates that religion must be freely practised. In France, under lacite, religion may be banned in public buildings, but it can't be in America. The US constitution says you must have the freedom to freely practice it, and it doesn't exclude public buildings from it.
      So if you were to ban the words In God we trust from being publicly displayed in America, this would be putting a restriction on the freedom of people to practice their religion, for the sake of nobody in the country but the atheists. It would be giving them an unfair bias to be able to dictate what words may be displayed in public.

    • @marioluigi9599
      @marioluigi9599 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      In Zorach v. Clauson (1952), the Supreme Court also wrote that the nation's "institutions presuppose a Supreme Being" and that government recognition of God does not constitute the establishment of a state church as the Constitution's authors intended to prohibit.
      So atheism as we have it today never really existed at the time the country was founded, and at the time it was assumed that everyone would be religious in some way. What was important was just that no particular emphasis was placed on one particular religion, especially not on a state religion, because that's what the situation was in England which had oppressed the American people under the King's rule, whose legitimacy came from the UK state religion of Anglicanism.
      Thus the freedom to be religious, and to express your religiousness is a deeply ingrained freedom within the American culture. It must not be taken away from any public buildings because there is not any legal wall of strict separation of religion from public buildings. Only the idea of favouring one over the others by respecting the establishment of any one of them within a particular context is illegal.

    To be fair... the whole in god in trust thing is thing that was implemented in 1956 and in my opinion a spit in the face to the founding fathers ( and I believe it's anti constitutional ) who wanted a secular nation and a separation of religion and state. Remember most the founding fathers were Christian but they knew religion is a dangerous game when mixed in with a government. They seen how it ravaged Europe.
    With that being said, this guy has a point if Christians can worship their god so can everyone else. Which this goes back to the point being in a separation of religion and state.

      I trust in the mighty God Jesus, not Allah. The Christian law of Christ is the best law ever. Sharia is the worst law ever. If a wicked Muslim and a righteous Christian go to the alikali (sharia) court, the Christian will lose and the Muslim will win because it is an Islamic court, no matter what the Muslim did. Non-Muslims (usually Christians) have to pay the 50% Jizya tax and get terrorized by the Hisbah police for preaching Jesus or for not having the money to pay the 50% tax. Jesus is more merciful than Allah will ever be. If you believe that the Lord Jesus is the Son of God, then you will have eternal life. Satan is created and is not begotten nor can he beget. Allah is not begotten nor can he beget. One imam deceived me when I was talking to him. He was only practicing taqqiya and kitman. Allah will be cast into the lake of fire by the Lord Jesus and so will millions of Muslims who worship the black stone in the Kaaba. Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand! Anytime a Muslim converts, they lie and say he was a fake Muslim. Did you that prophet Muhammad did not know where he was going when he died? Sura 8:30 and sura 3:54 both say that Allah is the greatest of deceivers. We shall worship God in the new moons and in the sabbaths in the new earth. In the new earth, no one will worship in a masjid on friday and no sundaykeeper will worship in a church on sunday.

But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. Actually, secular atheists don't make up the majority of the US population. Only in deep blue cities is that the case. We now need separation of atheism and state as the times have changed and now we have fundie atheists running around society.

Before the third world came flocking to America in endless droves, we were a majority Christian country. However, with all these new arrivals our old model doesn't work since the overwhelming majority of those who came to America from Europe were Christian. The US Constitution has no relevance in a growing atheist society since many major cities are mirroring the USSR in terms of toxic attitudes from the citizens themselves.

      @@taxthesocialist2602 I've got no problems with living in a culturally Christian country. What I object to is living in a country where the state gives official preference to one religion over another. The founding fathers were in favour of a secular state, with 'a wall of separation'. That's why the original motto was "E Pluribus Unum", and the original pledge of allegiance said "Indivisible" instead of "Under God", until the Christians in Congress voted to change them in 1956 and 1954 respectively.

Separation of church and state means that the CHURCH, like the ancient church of England, collude with the crown. Atheists are fighting something that doesn't exist since a Christian church in America virtually has no influence in Washington. Sounds like you have no idea as to what separation of church and state actually means. Wouldn't surprise since European history and heritage is being canceled by your side.
