This is going to be a long comment so skip if you don't want to read. I am a trans person. Knew pretty much my whole life I was born with the wrong parts. Came out as trans once I knew what transgender was and have had surgery since. I am pissed that people want to put laws into place that restrict or outright ban my ability to get the medical care I need. I will say I agree to a certain level that the LGBTQ+ is partly to blame as well. I fully believe we need to push for equal rights and protections, but I know there is a select few in the community that do more harm by, as you said, shoving it down peoples throats. The hypocrisy in the community upsets me so much. I just want to live in a country where I have full rights and protections without people sayin I am disgusting and deserve to be burned for being myself. And I will also add that no one is forcing kids to get surgery and drag queens aren't predators. If people would take the 5-10 minutes to actually research this, they'd see its just bullshit lies to push the mostly religious-conservative narrative that it should be banned. (THOUGH there are maybe a handful of cases that I have read about parents forcing it on their kids for whatever reason but that's a SUPER RARE thing and I don't believe any kid even got surgeries or hormones. I could be wrong so feel free to POLITELY correct me if I am wrong.) That being said, on the topic of Thy Art firing CJ, I am split on the issue. People have the rights to their opinions as long as their opinions aren't bigotry or wishing harm/death to someone else, say what you want. I also feel like a lot of celebrities fail to realize that they are more seen than the average person. They have a large audience and sometimes that audience will disagree with their opinions. And most certainly someone can't predict or control how others feel about a statement. I know I will have people who agree and disagree with what I say here and that's okay. While I think as a whole its sad for someone to lose their job over their opinions, in CJ's case, I wonder if he took a moment to think about pressing post. The hate transgender and gender-nonconforming people are getting right now is honestly unwarranted. It's the hot-button item right now so of course everyone wants to put their 2 cents in. But there is a better way to go about saying it. I know CJ will never see this but I genuinely hope he will look into things more than just a surface level to get a full understanding of the transgender community and what we deal with. If his genuine concern was for kids, I'm glad but as I said way earlier, it pretty much doesn't happen. We just want to be able to be ourselves without someone hurling garbage at us. Anyways, thanks to those that read this essay. Hope your days and nights go well

I have read your entirecomment, and am not gonna speak on most of it, since i myself am not trans, and therefore not in a position to do so. But what i can speak on, is what CJ said. What he said was brutal and yes, maybe not for social media, BUT he did NOT target trans people. I want to make that very very clear. I personally feel that something as sensitive as being trans or the posibility of, should not be brough upon kids that can't even form full sentences yet.

Some topics are more suited for certain ages.

Good content brother! Somebody was finally brave enough to tackle this issue. Metal can't be canceled. Woke bandmembers may fall victim to it, but true Metalheads will still follow a bunch of bands who's moral, religious, and political stance's don't match their own. I love a lot of bands who's members may conflict with my belief system be it through their lyrics or their personal choices in life. I also listen to a lot of punk bands that are extreme leftists (I.E. Leftover Crack) who's lyrics and lifestyles are a far cry from my own. So what! I don't believe that my way of seeing things is the one true way. People are different. I fully embrace differences be them politically, religious or other peoples personal choices. These woke people are intolerant hypocrites. Be woke all you want, just stop trying to brutally force your beliefs on the rest of us.

Metal has always been the playground for the weirdos. I don't say that as an insult. As a teen female in the 80s,I was safer and treated with respect at thrash metal shows. I went to Rollins Band shows (89-91) with my best friend, and we were the only girls in the pit,up front, at small clubs, to the point that Henry recognized us and had a female friend keep half an eye on us. But we were fine. Rob Halford was in the closet for years, and Lemmy would spit on cancel culture. I saw Metallica w/ Cliff Burton open for Ozzy and the whole stadium seats were pulled apart and thrown all over, just totalled and we had a great time. Ozzy was asked about it the next day and he laughed and said he'd pay for the damage ! And this was 1986. My brother is five years younger than me and saw what I wore to high school... my denim jacket with a Judas Priest patch on the back. To my college prep courses. He listened to what I was listening to, and then started playing bass. He's the one who was a bouncer at a strip club, and who got me into Gojira. And I'm from New Jersey, a bridge and tunnel girl who went to NYC for shows. My brother knew one of my best friends was a gay male, and he also knew my friends were a mixed bag of people, because I was not a groupie but I had friends who were, I was not about giant hair and bustiers... I loved L7 (and still do). I only found out about Thy Art Is Murder from the Slaves Beyond Death video of a live show that is hilarious and I wanted to be in that pit !!! The biggest and best thing about metal is it has always been a place for humor as well as political commentary ... my brother's school principal told him he could not wear his Metallica Metal Up Your Ass teeshirt *the toilet with the knife sticking up out of it*, and my brother worked at a gas station and bought his clothing. He told his principal, ":listen, mister, when you buy my clothes you can tell me what to wear" ... which this adult thought my parents should come in for a chat about. My brother was just wearing a teeshirt at school, he wasn't making a statement other than he was a Metallica fan and it was to him a funny shirt. So my parents went and said they were fine with his shirt and were fine with their kids listening to whatever music, reading whatever we wanted (my brother had dyslexia, so for me it was read but Mark it was music and taking apart engines). Really puzzled the guy, but my dad was proud of my brother for saying what he said. My brother is not a big talker. He is, however, a father of a nine year old girl who is really doing well in martial arts and competing, and is a big Gojira fan, and also older stuff, because as a teen my brother was Beavis on a Cornholio bender 24-7. He went to see White Zombie tripping on acid with his best friend and they were rolling around on the floor .. just laughing and nobody was bothering them, in fact, many people up front were also just enjoying themselves. My brother loved Sean (the female bassist) and ended up getting the same bass she played. Ignorance and Fascism go hand in hand, and they have no sense of humor, satire, catharsis, or a feeling of community based on mutual like of a band or a book or a movie... or women wanting to have birth control, men wanting to be who they are and not try to pretend they re something they're not. Pantera was a BIG ONE for me and my brother, especially Walk. Just play it and listen to the song. Pantera now is just Anselmo trying to make a buck, but Zakk is there out of love for Dimebag. Who is right ? Man, I don't know, Iiked Metallica and Megadeth, still love Anthrax, and now love Jinjer and Clutch. "YOU CAN'T BE SOMETHING YOU'RE NOT / BE YOURSELF BY YOURSELF STAY AWAY FROM ME". Respect. Walk. Are you talking to me ? Walk on home, boy... My rant. Cancel culture can suck my left one.

When metal and punk etc 'started' they were always very vocally anti-establishment genres ... the establishment at the time being conservative.
But now those 'anti-establishment' Progressive sentiments are the Party line, and right now bands like Thy Art are sitting comfortable with the political power they're currently being afforded by the suits who pay their bills so long as they toe the line.
BUT...Progressivism is a purity spiral forever moving further and further, driven by the most virtuous (read: radical) members of the ideology. Just a matter of time til the Overton Window shifts too far and they realise they have to draw a line (that they're still toeing the line is disgusting to say the least and CJ is fantastic for standing up). The establishment will come for each and every one of those weak people who were plenty happy to betray and financially ruin CJ all to save their own skin, and they'll find no sympathy from the other 'rejects' they cast aside. Children that young cannot make a choice on whether they are trans or not, and especially should not have any procedures before adulthood to change genders. Even most transgender people agree with me on this. Im apart of the 🏳️‍🌈 community myself, but there are limits to everything. I have 3 small children, and I dont believe they have the mental capability to make a choice like that. But if they chose to transition later in life (adulthood) or they were gay, I would be supportive. I do believe there were other issues in the band besides his online post, like the band said, and maybe this unwanted attention was what lead to his dismissal, but Im sure he would have been cancelled anyway due to the backlash.

Cancel culture or call-out culture is a contemporary phrase used to refer to a form of ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or professional circles-whether it be online, on social media, or in person.

metal is and has always been polarizing and it his always been about rebelling against social constructs. that's why it's metal. it's just a heavier form of punk music. hardcore is where punk meets metal in the middle. all that said, this video was fantastic. you deserve more subscribers and you just got one. 😎

I agree with you inside moshpit, no one cares about political agenda we just moshing around without any care about outside world
But nowadays, these overly sensitive cancel culture people just make everything need to be filtered and we can't all out enjoying everything anymore.
Don't get me wrong I'm not homophobic transphobic or anything, but I miss where every platform work the way it was, without any care about anything that happens outside the pit, where we can release ourself without fearing to do anything "politically wrong".
Because in true essence of metalpit: "everyone got shit!"
I just wanna say to them: "Just grow up a little dammit, don't be offended by every single things in the world 😡"

Was he ever actually on drugs? I thought he was just naturally weird like Frank Zappa or something and I knew he liked wine like Maynard... but he sure writes a lot of songs about "tweakers" among other drug addicts

@@Chuck_The_Human Oh indeed, he's spoken on it a few times on record. The full details of it escape me just now, but I believe he said the brunt of his addiction was from the late 80's to mid 90's.

    Life's tough, get a helmet!
Interesting message dude, quite libertarian (the part about minding your business and not trying to shove it down people's throats).
