    Fix the security issues like man in the middle attacks and vulnerabilities. When they have WPA4? Your hardware is great, but your firmware is two thumbs down.

    I just bought the Ax12 yesterday Wi-Fi 6 now Wi-Fi 7 is coming out I feel pretty stupid now. Should I return this and get the new one Wi-Fi 7 coming out ?

    • @Hbilbo98
      @Hbilbo98 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, it’s going to be a while before WiFi 7 becomes commonplace in new devices. Stick with WiFi 6 for now and upgrade in a couple of years if you are seeing performance drops. WiFi 6 is already plenty for most people, and you don’t want to wait that long before upgrading.

      @@Hbilbo98 you know what is crazy I had my nighthawk ax12 sitting in the box sealed until now a month I just didn’t hook it up until now, my good god this thing is super fast I don’t know why I waited to install it “ me being lazy “ but I doubt I upgrade for a very very very long time these speeds I never ever had with my old nighthawk it’s been 9 years since my upgrade 🫢😅

    It’s fun to think about, but hardly anything now readily supports WiFi 6, 6e it’s going to be at least 7 to 8 years down the road from now before Wifi 7 is the standard on a new tech item you purchase from the store, by then Wifi 15 should be available on home networking equipment lol 😂

    • @modestman6753

      Lol, in this year 90% new phones, laptops, tablets already/will have wifi 6 & many people already bought wifi 6 router to take advantage of their devices' wifi 6 capability. No need to wait 7-8 years for wifi 7 to be norm...maybe 2-4 years for majority people to use wifi 7

    Love your products but may I recommend you incorporate your Nighthawk line with the durability of your enterprise class. We do alot of gaming and livestreaming so low latencies is top on our list. My home is basically a small office so our main router is usually overloaded as soon as it goes Live. I've blown up 3 main routers in the last 6 years.

      One enthusiast to another, you sound like you're in the spot I was a couple years ago. Take a look at MikroTik, commit & get your hands dirty (the online community will help you out).
      I've never seen a router punch so high above it's weight, puts my Ubiquti gear to shame (I still use the APs though)

  • @genotabby
    @genotabby ปีที่แล้ว +4

    So many comments saying that WiFi 6 isn't fully in the market yet they are releasing WiFi 7. This is a new standard and early adopters can help to shoulder some of the upfront costs before it reaches the main market. There is also marketing that makes people aware of this new standard. Have you heard of 802.11ad? That was a standard between 802.11 ac and ax but it was not heavily developed and marketed so most people didn't know of its existence but there were products out there.

    • @Distress.

      Also they're missing the point. This is always a problem when moving up a standard. I'm not really interested in speed improvements as much as the QoL

    • @intothebeyond8763
      @intothebeyond8763 ปีที่แล้ว

      your device has to be capable of wifi 7 . if it's not then it just runs at the speeds it's rated for . Ex iphone X is a 802.11.ac device so it's speeds won't pass 600mbps even though it's standard can go higher it's the limitation of the hardware.

    The wifi industry seems to be moving at a faster pace than the standards on the connected devices. Atleast 10 years period should lapse between two wifi standards. Why don't you focus on making existing standard more reliable, affordable?

    • @Distress.
      @Distress. ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't improve an existing standard. It's the device manufactures that need to improve on their end. Wifi7 is more reliable

    • @nrikhy2793
      @nrikhy2793 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Distress. Exactly. Router manufacturers limit the hardware on most models as a marketing. Unfortunately it doesn't work this way. The world will most definitely skip wifi 6 and 7 , some will upgrade to wifi 6e but majority will still be on wifi5 till 2030. So they should focus on wifi5 and having models with support for more connected devices and firmware updates.

    • @Distress.
      @Distress. ปีที่แล้ว

      @nrikhy27 huh? I just pointed out you can't improve wifi 5 that's wifi 7. The standard and routers are out. Its the phones and other devices that need to get with the times.

    • @nrikhy2793
