    So helpful! Excel 2016; 2013 onwards actually, doesn’t display data analysis. You have to add it in. Go on file, options then add ins, then click data analysis. Then it appears and you can follow these clear helpful steps!

    Thank you for both the part 1 and part 2. I am completing my doctorate and was having an issue working out the formulas by hand. I totally forgot about the simplicity of the correlation formula and the ability to use the regression formula for the correlation validity. I appreciate it.

  • @ncvuj0718
    @ncvuj0718 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Okay. Thank you for the video man. But there is far more easy to compute a pearson and its pvalue. Using your example, it is as simple as
    First note that we have 13 pairs of observations
    And 2 degress of freedom
    *** The correlation ***
    In D1 we have : =pearson(B2:B14,C2:C14)
    which returns 0.860462439748914
    *** The t-stat ***
    In E1 we have : =D1*(13-2)^0.5/(1-D1^2)^0.5
    which returns 5.60108604214799
    *** The probability value ***
    And finally in F1 we have : TDIST(ABS(E1),(13-2),2)
    which returns 0.000160052673878084
