i dig seeing the tracks you used and hearing some of your criteria. great video, i'm itching to pick up an explorer now that they're on sale and they're universally loved
Happy to see Miku and David Guetta in the test tracks! Terra for the win! Happy to see lots of sets I love in the top 10. Really need to try the Dynaquattro and the Tea Pro. :) Awesome video dude! Happy new year!
Glad You guys like Terra so much, I’m from Poland myself and it’ heartwarming to see polish products doing so well in this chi fi dominated world :D We also have some awesome tube amps from Feliks Audio.
Explorer gaaaang! Interesting to hear about all the sets in this varied lineup and a speedy likes/dislikes. Can't not love the evil chuckle after the Mega 5 joke 🤣 Haven't heard about Lime Ears in a long time, neat appearance!
I love the P5+2 as well, but pretty sure i got a faulty set where my right side is noticabley quieter than the left. There are times when I think "maybe it's just in my head and they are fine", but i think im just trying to cope lol
@Jaytiss Ya I thought about buying one of those IEC 711 couplers as I don't know any other way to measure it, but we'll see. Either way, I like the sound of them a lot, so maybe I should buy a second pair at some point and use this pair as the beater lol.
There's something about the explorer. Every person I've lent it to, immediately loved it within the first 1 minute. Comments ranging from how clear it sounds, how strong the bass is, and how nice the shell looks.
I really do like it too. But I feel like at very high volume, distortion in the mids and treble starts creeping in. But can't really fault it as it only has 2 BA's so it's hard to make them super loud without distorting a little bit
"Hello Bro Jay, can you please rank #1, #2, and #3 in a triple IEM battle between the KZ Castor Pro Improved Bass Version, Tanchjim Bunny DSP, and KZ Libra Hi-Res?" Thank you Brother 🙏🙂👍
Excellent Video! Thank you for this. I'm thinking between the Tea Pro 2024 or the Braindance with 80 ohm adapter. Can you give a quick comparison of those two (DK3001 BD with 80 ohm and not without it) in imaging, separation, details, and soundstage?
80 ohm I found too basshead-y, with loss of some microdetails and overtones in mid/upper treble. Bass also starts bleeding onto the mids. 25-50 is the sweet spot, imo. Tested with LG V60 in high gain mode (genuine, not china refurbished) and Shanling M1 Plus.
I have the Explorer and while I like it, I don't quite share your enthusiasm. I still haven't found the best pairing for it, it often sounds soft and flat. Surprisingly, the cheap Kiwi Ears Allegro Mini seems to bring it to life.
Is the Terra vented? The graph looks wonderful, but I can’t do unvented (i.e. crimson) I picked up the brain dance and with a 25ohm adapter it’s my favorite set at the moment. Seems pretty divisive among reviewers. Great reviews! Definitely one of my favorite reviewers. Good luck in the new year
Try a 25ohm impedance adapter on the Mega5EST Bass on kill Jill and let me know what you think. My jaw dropped. This combo is iem of the year to me followed by the Punch (which released a month ago so will go towards 2025)
Hello, friend! What do you think, if a 80 ohm adapter with a 3.5 output is plugged into another adapter with an input of 3.5 and an output of 4.4 (balanced). How much will the indicators on your chart change? Has it been possible to do this? Incredibly interesting :))
@@Jaytiss it’s so good. Really hard to find a fault with it. Warm, bassy goodness without sacrificing detail or resolution. Switches that work, energetic, fun, with totl techs. Which it should have given the price 😂
I ordered the Aful P7 partly based on your review. Hopefully I like it. Any reason you didnt use a few tracks in a variety of music genres for this important test?
@Jaytiss I have the Moondrop X CRINNACLE Dusk and at first I was planning on sending it back but I really like the tuning. The treble is less hot than the P7 but still very detailed.
Great video, I am a bass head and was very interested in Dunu BD but was afraid that it wont satisfy bass heavy track but after watching your video that Impedence adaptor will fix the issue, I want to give it a try can you recommend the Impendence adaptor and does it have any downfall in impacting midrange I love vocals to be very clean and bit forward. Thanks
For me personally the Ziigaat Estrella is the IEM of the year. The Estrella with a tape mod sounds like a mix of the Canpur CP622B and the Dunu Glacier. It has the impact close to the CP622B and the tonality of the Glacier and all for $300 is really mind blowing.
4:40 I sold cantor pretty quickly, butastur was timbrally better, the slightly better extension and detail wasn't enough to offset the overall boring and blah replay. I'm normally someone that likes ushapes and boring sets. The fit on it after tip rolling was quite nice
I have tried to respect your criteria for ranking IEMs/over ears despite some inconsistencies, but modifying and altering the ranking table every so often is, for me, a lack of respect for your audience (the buyers). Remember that the tables/ranks serve to help and clarify for the buyers, not the opposite. From youtuber to youtuber, very disappointed. You chose the path of clicks.
I’m sorry you feel that way. I’m primarily trying to clean things up. I talk about it in my discord. Very few people do ranking lists any more and it’s a challenge to keep it relevant. The latest big change was primary due to removing fractions to make strong cleaner bolder calls. I was giving things crazy ratings and things got inflated.
Granted this video is called iem of the year, so can't expect cheap sets. I will still say that end-of-year recaps should include something for everyone, t10 pro is still near 100usd, not cheap for most working people around the world
I mean I get that. But you are welcome to make content. I try to make content for all price ranges, but after a point it's tough. Honestly, I reviewed the Tanchjim Bunny and it's excellent.
@Jaytiss Appreciate the response. Apologies if I sounded too harsh, perhaps it could be another video entirely. Would also love to see your music recs or some tracks that you enjoyed this year
Happy New Year Bro!! Agree with your take on the KE4. Good to see DynaQuattro still getting good love, i love that iem.
Dynaquatro is just fun. Ke4 is clean but dull, :).
i dig seeing the tracks you used and hearing some of your criteria. great video, i'm itching to pick up an explorer now that they're on sale and they're universally loved
I think it's a great choice!
The Corona and Lime combo beat everything. Thanks for a great year!
Thanks! 🙏
Well done Buddy! Happy New Year
Thank you for watching!
Happy to see Miku and David Guetta in the test tracks!
Terra for the win! Happy to see lots of sets I love in the top 10. Really need to try the Dynaquattro and the Tea Pro. :)

Both fantastic sets. Thank you for watching!

We also have some awesome tube amps from Feliks Audio.
I ordered the P7 and still excited about it. Greetings from one smoker to another!
I hope that you like it.
Thanks for doing this. It's how I like to compare IEMs, listening to familiar songs.
That’s the best way!
Explorer gaaaang! Interesting to hear about all the sets in this varied lineup and a speedy likes/dislikes.
Can't not love the evil chuckle after the Mega 5 joke 🤣
Haven't heard about Lime Ears in a long time, neat appearance!
I’m glad you liked it, I had a lot of fun making it
The p5+2 is in my list. Happy New Year!
It’s a great iem.
End of the year Jaytiss song gauntlet, only one can survive 😅
😂
I love the P5+2 as well, but pretty sure i got a faulty set where my right side is noticabley quieter than the left. There are times when I think "maybe it's just in my head and they are fine", but i think im just trying to cope lol
Channel imbalances suck. Maybe get it measured or something
@Jaytiss Ya I thought about buying one of those IEC 711 couplers as I don't know any other way to measure it, but we'll see. Either way, I like the sound of them a lot, so maybe I should buy a second pair at some point and use this pair as the beater lol.
Outro slaps. Reasonable list too.
Thanks! 🙏
I think the Punch is made for those test tracks
I got one in, it’s impressive. May not get a review for a bit.
There's something about the explorer. Every person I've lent it to, immediately loved it within the first 1 minute. Comments ranging from how clear it sounds, how strong the bass is, and how nice the shell looks.
It's a special set.
I really do like it too. But I feel like at very high volume, distortion in the mids and treble starts creeping in. But can't really fault it as it only has 2 BA's so it's hard to make them super loud without distorting a little bit
Great video, Thanks! I like my Explorer's a bunch as well. Do you have a link for those cool little boxes you are using?
I do! www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_containers/flex_hinge_polypropylene_box/229
No one should ever subject themselves to listening to Blue that much, on purpose.
Boo I like it. 😂
@@Jaytiss have you considered professional help? 🤣
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, brother.
How would the Chopin rank in 2024? If it even makes the list?
Chopin is still relevant. Very nice set.
Great video sir!🎉
❤️ thanks! 🙏
"Hello Bro Jay, can you please rank #1, #2, and #3 in a triple IEM battle between the KZ Castor Pro Improved Bass Version, Tanchjim Bunny DSP, and KZ Libra Hi-Res?"
Thank you Brother 🙏🙂👍
That's hard, I haven't heard any of those. I'd be guessing. I liked the bunny analog, and KZ EDC Pro.
Would the Impedance adapter that came with the fatfreq deuce work with the dunu brain dance to make it shine
Yes, that would help a ton.
Excellent Video! Thank you for this.

Set from Poland at the 1st place😮 I'm proud of my country now😊
It’s a great set. 🇵🇱

Nice, I like the explorer but it is dull in the vocals.
Will you please give us the link to your iems platic boxes. They look very convenient. Thanks.

@Jaytiss Thanks, and happy new year.

Great reviews! Definitely one of my favorite reviewers. Good luck in the new year
I’m pretty sure it is vented! At least I personally had no issues with it. Thanks for the kind words.
Could you try to mod letshouer s12?The shortbus mod
I mean there are some good mods it’s hard to get into them.
This is the year of the aful, definitely
They had a great year!

Oh and check out Tipper - Dreamsters to test iems. Crazy bass, lush mids and swirling ethereal treble. It’s my go to.
Interesting! I’ll check it out.

My advice is to get a 4.4 adapter if you can. Both Penon and fat freq sell a 4.4 adapter.
@ Thanks for the advice! As a result, do you think the indicators from 4.4 will change much from those shown on your graph with the 3.5 adapter?
Ngl I thought this was andy's video because of the font in the thumbnail. I can only comment with what I tried, but I really enjoyed the explorer.
It's so good!
My vote is for the alpha omega omega!
I still need to hear that one!
@@Jaytiss it’s so good. Really hard to find a fault with it. Warm, bassy goodness without sacrificing detail or resolution. Switches that work, energetic, fun, with totl techs. Which it should have given the price 😂
Can you recomended direct upgrade from yume 2, budget max 1000$?
Depends what you want. My ranking list has done good upgrades.
@Jaytiss sweet vocals and large soundstage
Dang, missed the EBC80
Na, that's coming probably end of Jan.
what impedance adapter you used in braindance?
80 is nice, 10 is also nice. It’s fine stock but with the adapter. So good.
I wish that you could try craft ears omnium they lend people demo sets have you tried contacting them ?
I have, I should have one incoming soon.
I ordered the Aful P7 partly based on your review. Hopefully I like it. Any reason you didnt use a few tracks in a variety of music genres for this important test?
3 tracks seemed. More simple. Aful p7 is one of my favorites of the year.
@Jaytiss I have the Moondrop X CRINNACLE Dusk and at first I was planning on sending it back but I really like the tuning. The treble is less hot than the P7 but still very detailed.
I love the Explorer. Wish I could try the Cantor.
It’s a great set. Very special. But Explorer is also nice.
@Jaytiss yeah two opposite tonalities.
Artetties 🍈🍈
lol 😂
@Jaytiss my favorite iems/fruit haha
The discord link the description isnt working 😢

Big fan of the KE4....but then...I got it for $117, so it just seems like a great deal.
That is a great deal!
Thoughts on the Simgot EW300 ?
I think they are fine. No massive faults.
Dunu sells a 25 ohm adapter. I think 80 ohm is about the max to get. After that it’s just harder to drive.

❤️. It’s a solid iem. Promo collab of the year.
The tape mod really put it over the top for me as well. Prolly should have been the default tuning.
@@MichaelBruceTaos Thank you for your time and research on this and the R1 mods, I enjoy both greatly.

@Jaytiss Nah, it was good, just not 600usd used good, I'm fine trying a lot of things to find what I need. listening on mest mk2 rn
Where do you get your plastic storage??
I think it’s called taps plastic.
Lime Ears! A plus for a very fun name. Aful for the big win. Big changes to the list!
Yeah, my list kinda went nuclear. :)

The sole purpose of this video is just an attempt to keep KZ out of the line, right? 😁😃😆
Feel free to love and hype kz. I honestly don’t care. 🤷 😂😆
@Jaytiss Really not good? i thought you would be talking about 28 ba 😄😁🤭
Do you think the Aful explorer has decent enough soundstage?
It's amazing.
No Kiwi Ears x HBB Punch & No Ziigaat Odyssey 😭😢😑😁🤭 ???
Punch is still coming. Odyssey is a great set but was a loaner.
