- This is the new Ford Puma - a crossover SUV that thinks it's a car!
Thing is, it WAS a car. Back in the day (and by that we mean the '90's) the Ford Puma was based on the Fiesta. It disappeared, only to return as an SUV, but the styling gives kudos to the design language that made the Puma what it was - one of the best selling cars of 2023 in the UK.
This new Puma was released in February 2024, featuring the new Ford badge, an updated dash and some design refreshes - to name a few.
Powered by a 1Litre, 3 cylinder petrol mild hybrid engine, you have the choice of a manual or automatic - and yes! an old school handbrake. Upon launch there were five trims to choose from, with the Vignale on a limited release. As these have all been snapped up now, you have the choice of the Titanium, the ST-Line, the ST-Line X and the ST.
The model we have here is the ST-Line X and is fitted with a whole host of options including 19" alloys, Matrix LED headlights, Driver Assistance Pack and a Winter Pack, taking the price up to around £32,500.00. Prices for the Titanium start at around £26,500.00
Check out Ford's website - or your nearest dealer - to see which trim and what options suit you best.

I’m the owner of the Puma since 2020. Drove 45 000km. Puma in Sport Mode is surprising agile and fast car. The best since Focus times. The best thing is the how precisely the steering is working and how Good and Economy is the R3 engine. I have 125KM M6 version without MHEV techn and achieve 6.5L/100km . It’s Great car for Daily driving
It really impressed us, I’d be like to drive the more powerful one now, thank you Marek
I just bought an ST late last year, nearly new (Barely more than delivery mileage) and 40% cheaper than list for an actual new one. It's pre-facelift but that was deliberate on my part as I wanted the 1.5 and it's gone from the range now so pre facelift was the only option. Also it's Manual which was another essential for me, I'm not keen on autos. It's a great car, really happy with it.
That’s an amazing deal, I really want to drive one, I really enjoyed this one but more power is always welcome. There’s a few cars where I prefer first gens, character etc. Thank you & enjoy it.
Hi Ben, must admit I went off Fords in the mid 80’s, and have never really looked at them since. However I can see the appeal of the Puma, it is a good looking car, well built and well specced. My neighbour swears by them, he got a brand new ST Line in August and was written off after a collision with an errant Amazon driver in a Transit shed in the lanes where we live. Thankfully the Insurance sourced him a new one to the same spec which he got last week! Great review, I share your chagrin at no grab handles, I use them all the time in the Honda which has 4👍
Glad you enjoyed this review George! Both Ben & I enjoyed driving it, especially with that old school hand brake! We also love the way it pays homage to the original Puma. Thank you.
My neighbour has one of these in black, and it's such a smart car.
They’re really fun to drive too, maybe il have to drive the ST 😀 thank you Nigel
@@PlanetautoUK Great job guys, keep up the good work!
Thank you 🤩
One of the Best Car from Ford but unfortunately not available in India. i hope One day Ford will come back in india. 😊
We do too, Dev! Thank you
I wish this car would come to Canada💔
Hopefully the Electric variant which releases next year may come to Canada - we’ll see what we can find.
If they put the touch screen and the insulation (for outside noise reduction) into the old model it wouldve been a lot better. When you do a side by side you notice theyve taken away some nicer details that made the car feel a bit more premium, overcomplicated the stocks on the wheel and to save money, changed out calipers for drum brakes. Youre paying more for this model because they've added a giant touchscreen as far as i can tell
There’s a few more tweaks and restyles too Ford badge moved etc, maybe the drums assist with regen, it’s sometimes the case. Thank you SJC
Odd how we just picked up a 155ps ST Line X Auto in the new spec 4 weeks ago......????
Yes, you’ve got a different chip with your 1 litre and like ST no manual available either, and that manual is superb 😀 such a shame.
