Why would you remove all that stuff? Only need to remove top radiator hose and 2 -10mm bolts that hold the housing. You can also buy the whole housing with the seal for only a few dollars more. You wouldn't need to wrestle the new T-Stat and possibly damage it....
the original thermostat for the 6.0 was a 203* but ith the over heating problems ford had due to a number of engineering errors they dropped the t stat to a 192* to give it an edge on not over heating. didnt really address the actual problems but...

didnt really address the actual problems but...
took me 45 minutes and I didn't even take the airbox out . I'll show you how to get it done next time .
