Bought a Taos 7/22/2023. It has broken down twice (8/6/23 & 8/15/23) . What a nightmare of a car ! Dealer won't take it back and now I am calling lawyers for help.

@@KonflictedI've taken few long highway trips with mostly city driving and car has been great. Easy on gas, responsive little turbo engine and compact size with comfortable cabin.

I had a 2022 4-Motion. Terrible turbo lag but the biggest problem was road noise. I couldn't do a long road trip in it, it was just too fatiguing from the noise. I had to get rid of it about three weeks later at a $4500 loss, it was worth the loss to get rid of it.

I have the SE FWD cause I test drove the model with AWD and the DSG transmission and the FWD with traditional Asin 8 speed automatic is night and day smoother.

We have a 2022 TAOS SEl 4motion with ~16 k miles on it.
Good: 30+ fuel milage, nice tech. The Lane assist and adaptive cruise control work well. Interior space is massive.
Not good: Turbo lag and transmission lag = poor 0 to 30 acceleration. Driver seat is power, passenger is manual. Rear hatch is manual and difficult for under 5ft persons to reach and close.
Really bad: Head gasket leaks that cripple the engine and lead to (IF you are under warranty) 1+ month replacement times. Rear braked pads ware out in under 1 yr (used by the adaptive cruise control to slow you down). BUT VW extended the warranty saying this was due to low quality pads and won't happen again).
Overall we Like ours (we seem to have dodged the head gasket issue) . many have not and have returned them under lemon laws.
