I had the pleasure of meeting Garrett at NAB many years ago. He took the time to explain the tech and even let me try on a full harness to get the feel of everything even though he knew upfront that I wasn't there to buy anything. What a cool guy and a fascinating bit of tech. I still love the HBO segments through Central Park from the 1970's while you wait for the next film to start.
Got to learn first hand from craven (the operator in the clip) and even had a zoom lecture/ama with Garrett in a recent steadi workshop i took. Great people… its crazy how much skill really goes into operating one of these !
"You single-handedly, changed the way, the world, views film."
"wow" :o
This guy is so chill lol.
I thought that was a stupid statement to make by the reporter. How is he supposed to respond to that? xD
thank you very much, Mr. Garrett Brown, for inventing the Steadicam!
ok
The steadicam is such an amazing piece of equipment. Great video.

and thats how you chase a woman to be your wife...with a steadicam!
While this video was interesting, I was hoping they would have provided a brief explanation of how it worked.
That's awesome

Great inventor and a good man good to see he still got moves in his seventies to run up those steps.
Changed the world.....one of the best inventions of all time😎👌
The British director Alan Clarke (RIP) was a master of the steadicam
Guy Lewis cool I’ll have to check out some of his filmography
Using the backside of a woman, to sell that shot.
Better than using Stallone's to sell rocky😂😂😂😂
He invented ALL those cameras?!
Not camera. He built a body mounted harness that has an articulating spring or shock absorbing arm that reduces vibrations or shakes.
Mastermind! Thank You
Amazing!
Much preferred to shaky nauseating hand-held over-used cinema verite style.
Legendary
well that lady ruinned it
Yeah. Didn't want all that cringefest
How many people run up those steps each each!?
Hi there Gary!!!! This was awesome! ! !
Good news story
Hope you got paid for it.
Who’s here after the most recent TMG bonus episode
En realidad a mi me encanta el hand held...
Amazing.
