All this time I jsut thought it was JUST to help trick us into thinking what the assassin was gonna do throughout the episode.
Monkey Wrench is EASILY rivaling Helluva Boss in every aspect, which really says something if you consider that it only has three episodes out as of now. It also has a cool assassin who is actually competent enough to actually win (and is not exclusively used as an villain, but moreso an antagonist).
Glad you're finally checking out this series. It needs A LOT more attention than its currently getting, and although its a massive tonal shift from "Monkey Wrench" you should also check out another indie space pilot called "Godspeed" if you haven't already. It was made by the same guy behind "Final Space".
note: the toys Noberts plays with at 20: are OCs from Zeurel, Spoiler and his evil alter ego, Black Ace, characters he dropped after he lost the animation tournament involving them (he didnt take the loss well at all, claiming favoritism was at play, and basically ditched the character out of spite, making it surprising he did a cameo of them here)

So the part where Karla was reading about taking out Sanchez first and then Bulldog is a old TF2 joke/tactic called Shoot the Medic First cus they support the heavy, but really they are more like Dark Souls: Ornstein & Smough as you can see for a very good reason.

More people need to watch Monkey Wrench, hopefully this helps encourage people to do so! I also hope that, in addition to reacting to episode 3, you also react to the episode 3 outtakes and "Episode 3.5: The Tape", those are REALLY funny!
this actually isn't the first series for shrike and beebs, but it is the first one to get an actual FULL series,shrike also sounded diffrent and had 2 extra people, the one before this was "civil war" which went nowhere sadly, the dolls norbert was playing with are from some small things also, only name i remember is black ace, unfortunately all of zeurel's old animations were taken off his channel so you would have to find them around youtube

The worldbuilding is second to none here. Superior to anything else you find on youtube. Zeuriel has mastered the art of subtle storytelling.
