This error code does not just mean the battery is bad. You can get an f02 code with a brand new battery so instead of titling this video "How to fix error code f02" , maybe "how to replace the battery" would have been better because you just wasted my time. Good day.
@@calcanadian I am having this problem now how did you fix it ? Do I need to RMA this bitch back to APC ? I had the same unit for 9 years and just replaced it with new one and new one is giving F02 often and sometimes F06
With the battery going bad an inevitability, APC should have a dedicated error code. Seems like F02 just means "one of several things is wrong". Not helpful
I have the older version to this. The RS 1500 LCD. It does not have an indicator to tell you that it is charging. It only shows how much is changed. I’m disappointed that the new version also doesn’t have a charging indicator.
Thanks for your video, I always have a hard time figuring out how to open the case to properly get to the battery compartment! Don't know if it's because my UPS's are lightly loaded (I have my computer and networking stuff split across two of them) but I usually get 5 to 7 years out of a battery pack, which currently is only about $55 off Amazon. I wish the UPS's display would light up a better and more comprehensive error message before it goes nuts with the obnoxious sound and WTF, poorly documented error code - that would have allowed me to order a replacement before all the "Oh my God, it's dead" drama. I still haven't found a good way to properly recycle the old batteries, which I know don't belong in a landfill and could be dangerous for unprepared recycling centers to cope with.
If you go to the APC website they take their old batteries back for free either by picking it up or they will rout you to a shop where you can drop em off, hope this help & if you haven’t already subscribed please consider thanks 😊
If its under warranty return it right away seems like it has a problem with one of its connection fuses (assuming that you set it up correctly) which im sure you did or it came with a bad battery 🔋 hope this helps if it did please consider subscribing
By the way i mis read I thought you said 2 month’s lol anyways i think you need a battery replacement batteries should be replaced at least once every 15 months and sometimes they last 24 months in rare cases, so i think you need a battery replacement my brother
@@USComputerSolutions Thank you for the reply, I am getting 24.9 volts across 2 batteries. I see some specs online suggesting nominal voltage being 13 volts. I wasn’t sure if the chemistry of these led acid was such they were high much like 12 volt racing batteries which have a nominal voltage of 16. My next step will be to load test then outside of the power backup unit.
Thanks for the video, but your claim that the batteries need replacing after just 1-2 years is not true. I’ve used the same batteries for near a decade now without issue. It was only a couple days ago I received this F02 error, which is ridiculously loud, annoying and unnecessary. If I wasn’t home my cats would have had to listen to that crap all day long. Do the fools who manufacture these not consider the fact that people have pets, sleeping babies and neighbors? And why was there no warning to inform me that the battery was going bad so that I knew when to replace it? If this code indicates a bad battery, then it should say so. The lack of consistent explanation on the web is bizarre.

Agree. My 1500 is only a month old, so the battery is not the cause of the F02 code!

What is the solution to f02 error ??

WRONG TITLE! ERROR F02 OCCURS WITH GOOD BATTERIES.
Excellent irrelevant video about F02 error. Thank you for wasting my time.

Waste off time nothing about f02 error.

@@USComputerSolutions Thanks! Subscribing!
new batteries f2! should I just let it set and charge
My UPS is only 12 months old. The battery charge shows that its full. But when power cuts it does not give the back up and dispays an error code F02.

Half the video is explaining how to buy batteries from Amazon.
bought one on Amazon came Dead.... smh. does it need to be charged?, some places say charge for 8 hrs....
Incorrect! FO2 error is not battery error.
What is it then?
What voltage were the bad batteries ? What voltage are good fully charged batteries?
9AH/12V each battery which should give a total of 24V

@@kaijustice7048 the 2 batteries are in series to make it 24v. each battery is 12v.

My problem si f06 help me pls
Thx bro
F02 HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BATTERY!!!!
F02 = OUTPUT SHORT
In other words something plugged into the UPS is causing a short.
Not really. I got F02 even without anything connected to the UPS.
Me too, i had f06, found a relay with problems and replace It. After THAT i Saw THE f02, and i didn't Connect anything
Useless video does not fix F02 error which doesn't even show in the video!! Thanks for the waste of time.
