Yep, it had to be fafaru. (I have no idea how to spell that.) Boston Rob’s reaction to it, how his face just goes from smiling to dread in an instant, is one of the funniest Survivor moments ever.
The grossest one for me was that humungous pinching beetle grub thing that Deena and Matt had to eat in the last round in the Amazon. The fact that Matt swallowed it whole while it was still alive and then talked about how he could feel it squirming down his throat... he was crazy
okay listen... same.... bc ive eaten live mealworms before and they told us DONT JUST SWALLOW THEM!!! you have to bite them to kill them or else they will crawl back up your throat!!

uhh, 1000 year old egg isnt that bad lmao i've had it before, it's actually eaten in a lot of Chinese dishes with porridge. it taste pretty similar to an boiled egg except it's consistency is jello. i think it's probably the least gross thing they've eaten..
Yeah thousand year old egg is delicious! Once you get used to the texture it's amazing. I always order it as an appetizer when eating at a Chinese restaurant.

I’ve heard Balut really isn’t that gross! It’s a texture thing but just ends up tasting like chicken and eggs. The liquid tastes like chicken broth. I’m pretty sure it’s more of a mental barrier with seeing the developed chick and the texture of the egg

I rewatched Cambodia recently and I laughed when they got grossed out by some of the least developed balut featured on the show. I buy like 4 of those as a snack every now and then before covid locked us all indoors, and if you don't think about it too much, it literally just tastes like a hard-boiled egg lol. 😂
That dude from Caramoan asking "Why" made me laugh hard... Dude, when the sun goes down vendors literally roam around carrying baskets loaded with Balut all over the streets here in the Philippines... Before the pandemic that is...
Remember when Shambo bought slug guts spaghetti and was asking Jeff if it had nutritional value and he acts like he has no idea?? LOL! Imagine spending money on that thinking you were getting something good and instead you get seaweed and slug guts.

I get that this being regional prevents it from being used a lot in Fiji, but they only did it in Cambodia and Ghost Island during the thirties, sadly.

Michele had one job to do, to "act" or "pretend" like she's beyond disgusted, totally grossed out & having a real hard time swallowing her milkshake. In case there was a tie, the other team would pick her to do the tie breaker seeing how hard she struggled to finish her milkshake. A simple & easy task right? One would think, but it never got to all of that, cuz when it was Michelle's turn she gets up gets her milkshake & just starts chugging it! she didn't stop to take a break, she didn't come up for air, none of that. The cameras turn to her tribe & they didn't have to say anything, cuz their facial expressions said everything. some looked confused😕 some looked disappointed😞 while others just looked mad😠 when she was done she slammed her glass down like she had just won 1st place in a milkshake drinking contest L😆L when it was all said and done it came down to a tie just as predicted & the other team obviously chose someone else from Michelle's tribe who ended up losing thus sending them to tribal council. The tribe wasn't even mad at the one who lost the tie breaker, nope, they put all blame on Michelle, for 1 it was her bright idea💡& for 2 it was a good plan & strategy & for her to just go rogue & disregard the plan cuz she loves to eat and drink absolutely abhorrent as shit, so her feeling the need to show up, show out & show off just showed that she was a selfish show off & not a team player so the whole tribe, without any hesitation, easily voted her out.
I think I'd personally clean up in these challenges, because I just love protein. The smoothie and blood ones are probably the ones that I'd be least likely to deal with. Ironically, I'd probably lose by either eating too long, or if Jeff introduced Brussels Sprouts as a dish.
hahaha balut is just a common food in the philippines. there are vendors roaming around the neighborhood and yelling "balooooot baloooot baloooot" at night. they sell it for 1 dollar, and it tastes goooddddd

The Best Food Eating Challenge Moment: Angela Swallowing the Sea Slug Whole in Ghost Island!
I am actually rewatching Ghost Island right now and the sea slug slugger just devoured it.
Angela's shining moment! She dominated that challenge more than anyone in history.

Honestly, I could probably eat everything except the blood and baby turtles. I wouldn't even be able to handle seeing the cow be bled, I'd tap ASAP
I could handle the blood, larve, and possibly the smoothies. But the eggs, raw fish, turtles, and tarantuas/scorpions? No way!
The blood would be one of the easiest for me. The hardest for me would be the grubs because they're moving.
I know it's not gross food challenge but auction. But James eating the bats gave me nightmares.
