I grew up with DS instead of 64 so I'm really happy about the attention this version gets, even if the music is slightly different. I think it took me a long time to realize this was a starman remix, much less specifically of the one in Yoshi's Island which I played a lot before on GBA
I had my DSi XL since I was 2 or 3. It's really said nobody really remembers the remake when in my opinion it was objectively better (except for maybe the controls)
Even though I grew up with both N64 and NDS versions of Super Mario 64, I do love the DS Version, not for the controls, but how half of the soundtrack sounds like it has more depth than the original.
@pirategamer6630 You good my guy? The soundtrack of the DS got compromised to the n.th degree. The original has higher quality as a matter of Fact. I assume you played the DS one more so you love it more
As someone who grew up with DS as a kid despite having the full power to emulate OG 64 I stuck with ds. Plus those miniganes were the main thing I had played when I was younger. Wish I was able to get action replay to work on the game back then so every minigame was unlocked earlier
I've been replaying mario 64 recently and one of my favorite parts is definitely the wing cap which is weird cause I use to hate it, but I've finally got the hang of it and have earned my wings
i grew up with the 3ds but since the ds cartridges were compatible i was able to have a full childhood with a giant experience with new super mario bros, super mario 64 ds, super mario 3d land, Mario kart 7 mario and luigi partners in time and Mario party ds.

Same: i also grew up with the ds when i was like 2 or something

Koji Kondo is a master. I always loved this song but that bass hit so hard.
love the bass, shaker (?) and hi-hat combo
nice samba-esque feel
Yooo you made it! This version of the Wing Cap/Starman is my absolute favorite! So thank you for making this!
You're welcome, man! =p 👍
Super mario 64 ds was the first game I had on my dsi, and I remember loving that game to death.
At 2:29 sounds like Mario Kart star theme.
I'm realizing how better the percussion is on this version
lol no.
the original handled it better.
@@Lou-yf1joa different instrument was used than the original, the compression is a different story.
the original handled it better.@@TPF621
The end is a masterclass, the build up is so cool. 😎
Loved hearing this song deconstructed, it's so nostalgic (as are most songs from Super Mario 64).

It’s because you listened to the non console version of the sm64 soundtrack
For real. Even though it has "less" quality, it sounds amazing on DS.

Channel 3 - Strings Ensemble
Channel 4 - Strings Ensemble
Channel 5 - Acoustic Bass
Channel 6 - Percussion

Channel 8 - Percussion
Channel 4 has always been my favorite part of the theme. It’s always sounded so good to me! ❤❤❤

Ah, the build ups to realize this is both mario's hero and training arc into one, really like it :)

i enjoyed this way more than i should have
Would love to see the super Mario galaxy star power broken down like this please!
0:35 best part
Cant wait for a SPC700/TSU remake of this
Fun fact: This song isnt different. The OST version removes some instruments.
I like how almost all of these samples are used in zelda oot as well
This should have more views. Amazing job
when the thc delta 64 mario cart starts hitting:
Can you do the Super Mushroom theme? That one's my favorite.
i grew up with the 3ds but since the ds cartridges were compatible i was able to have a full childhood with a giant experience with new super mario bros, super mario 64 ds, super mario 3d land, Mario kart 7 mario and luigi partners in time and Mario party ds.
Channel 4 & 5 sounds like "Mario invinable song"
Sound a bit better then the 64 version
the OST version is different

CHANGE MY MIND
oh and the timestamp is 0:25 and 0:42
Beautiful music. I love hearing that a lot when I play as Mario hold on the wing cap.
we need a full version of that channel 3 music
0:25
2:30
This one sounds better than modern starman music
Does that make any difference between SM64 and SM64DS?
DS has heavier bass and percussion
is there a program/software that can't deconstruct tracks like this?
Channel 5 is an snake
There is a way to do like this to Mp3 songs? even after convert them to other format? if it's not possible
Question: does this sound the same as in New Super Mario Bros. Starman?
Yes
