Love that Kirk is playing the hell out of Gary Moore's guitar instead of keeping it locked in a glass case never to see the light of day again. Great tone too.

@@Pallie611 Yes. Unless Gibson made him a replica to take on the road, which they actually did for sale for a good amount but Hammett is supposed to take the real guitar with him on tour.
Forgot about that, I was just thinking I wish he only ever used that guitar, its amazing sounding.

This song feel likes it's only a minute long. You get so lost in it and then all of sudden it's done and 7 minutes have passed.
It's position on the album when you listen to it sleeping hits just as you are drifting off and it sounds incredible.

My dad, who was at a Metallica concert in Chorzów in 1991, never dreamed that after 33 years he would be watching them again with his son by his side. I am extremely grateful to my dad for showing me the world of metal and Metallica when I was a little boy. This music has been with me all my life and I hope we will meet again at more than one performance.

The first time I saw Metallica was in 1986 with Cliff Burton, even got to see them after the gig. Now, I'm looking forward to going to a Metallica concert, but with my son this time.
Kirk switching those pickups mid solos makes the tone flow so smooth and makes for such a nice mix of cream and crunch
These guys are STILL packing stadiums and concert halls around the world some 40+ years later! I remember hearing these guys play early on around 1983, loved it ever since, am pushing 67 yrs. old now!

Hell yeah! I was at the Chicago show 8/9 and they were fantastic! First heard them in 1986 when I was 8 and my older cousin had their Master of Puppets cassette. Been a fan ever since. I’m 46 now and still rocking to Metallica!
Think about this: that stadium takes 66 thousand people and they sold it out for two days in a row.

All songs from Master of Puppets feel that way to me (even "The Thing That Should Not Be"). I guess I grew up on their 1st 3 albums, so I like the old stuff the best - & YES - This song is SO GOOD - both musically & lyrically. When this album was 1st released, THIS song & "Battery" were my faves, but soon I fell in love with the whole thing. Like you, I can listen to this song over & over - but I can say that about the whole album. Ending with Damage Inc made it perfect!! But "(Welcome Home) Sanitarium" IS a TRUE MASTERPIECE & is what I call an Anatomically Perfect Song. It could NOT be any better than it is - esp LIVE!!

@millerkmd1 I saw them last year in Amsterdam. This is how he sounds like. You can also youtube fan videos. These guys are the real deal still at the age of 60.

I was at this show in Warsaw. Came all the way from Edmonton Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 Can’t wait for the two shows next month here in town.
And what an incredible 2 nights it WAS - playing in Edmonton!! It's definitely a weekend that I'LL never forget!! I have to thank Metallica for playing Edmonton as their only Canadian stop on this tour. A place I could DRIVE to, & NOT have to FLY to Vancouver or Toronto to see them!! We sure got lucky with THAT decision!! 2 Unbelievably FANTASTIC shows!! Playing old songs, new songs, & songs from their whole catalog!! I certainly was NOT let down in ANY way!!

I've seen them a couple of times, 1st on the ".....And Justice for All" tour, & again 10-12 yrs ago, & now on this tour. I'm just happy to know that they are STILL gaining new fans & having a lot of people seeing them for the 1st time!! That's fantastic to hear!! Metallica Metalheads are the BEST - both old AND new!! Bang on my friend - & welcome to the Club!!

It was over 24 years ago & it seems silly for people to be still saying nasty things about Lars because of THAT!! I think he is an AMAZING drummer, & that's ALL I NEED to have HUGE respect for him!!

The first Ken Lawrence's explorer! James was using the second one with another top for a really long time, and now he is playing the old one!! I love this guitar, and I hope he will use it in future. This is a piece of Metallica's history.

This concert was awesome, this Setlist was just beautiful. Best live experience. At the top of The stadium, sitting and jamming. Inamorata, Ktulu, Moth into Flame, The RTL ones and Blackened were just superb. The concert was the best first experience, in The matter of Metallica
