The reason they attacked you right away in Dread Hunger was because you had the bone dagger out which only the Thralls (Traitors) have access to. You can use the dagger it to summon a army of cannibals, summons snow storms, or turn invisible with high movement speed to get away.
Thank you for including me in your video Rye! I’ve just woken up to a sea of new comments on my videos, and you’ve absolutely made my week! You’re all always welcome in my hosted lobbies, if you’d like to experience just how fun Dread Hunger can be, especially with people who speak your language! Cheers, Plum.

would be nice if devs allow lan or make their game open source in case of something like a shutdown Id love for every game that has ever shut down to go open source
The Dread Hunger part is really interesting. Almost all of them were actually not friendly toward you at the beginning, even the kid was saying: "if I was the wolf I'll just kill him repeatedly", and one or two of them even thought you're a "假老外", which means "fake foreigner". But in the later clips, many of them started being friendly (or at least found the situation funny), such as when someone suggested kicking you out of the server, that kid defended you by saying: "Why would you do that? Don't kick him out! What's wrong with being a foreigner?" Well the guy (or guys, kinda hard to tell from the voice) who thought you were a fake foreigner apparently insisted that he's right even until the last clip, he was saying something like you can understand Chinese, you're just pretending to be someone from another country lol
The bad thing is, a lot people will never understand that is hurting the community/game they love. New players come in, current members are super hostile/horrible to new players. New people will stop coming then the game will die not long after. I got Dread Hunger about a year and a half ago. Faced the same thing, constantly getting kicked or killed. Found a couple people that didn't kill me or kick me. That only lasted a short time. Got tired of wasting my time trying to join a server and never looked back.
Hello! I just wanted to thank you for including me in your video! It's been years since I've last seriously played but I'm glad people still remember. my time in FoF. If you ever have any questions or anything just let me know.

It would be cool to start a community where people go to rediscover these dying lobbies together, and organize times to play games and fill up the lobbies.
About Verdun I think the fact they added bots was definitely for the best. They werent looking to create the next WW1 CSGO. But they were looking to create an immersive ww1 game with human wave tactis and stuff. I still play this game time to time and I still adore it
@@blitz8221 it is World War I game meaning you need a lot of parties in order to have a fun gameplay so let's take a good example you applying on a server to only have two people playing it's gonna be pretty boring that's why the implemented bots in order to feel the game more World War One style that you actually had the human ways and the attackers are more difficult
@@mrgreenfr6216Unfortunately you are wrong, the bots are probably the worst I've ever seen anywhere, and the game is not immersive, if you are interested I can tell you why
Bots just cheapen it and make the game not interesting. I had hundreds of hours and stopped playing after they added the bots, was so boring. Personally would play classes with only hand grenades and melee weapons, so much fun and wasting your limited nades on a useless bot was infuriating.
Seeing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory on this list unlocked a plethora of nostalgic memories that I have with this game. I remember playing this with my dad back in what probably was in 2005 till around 2007. We had two PC's in the room, one for him and one for me and my mom, thinking about it now this was probably one of the very first FPS games that I played and thoroughly enjoyed for a long time. I will never forget the time spent with my dad and essentially bonding with him on this game through big ass CRT monitors. Thank you Rye, for unlocking these distant memories through this TH-cam series.
Ah man, i have like the same kind of nostalgia. I played it alot back around 2010 with my dad but especially with my brother. Every school vacation we played the hell out of it. Best of times.
ive been playing fistful of frags since standalone and it still makes me tear up seeing that some of the cows still come home every now and then to relive this gem.
thank you for covering fistful of frags, the community is small but we're always looking to show new players something that's not only free but genuinely good fun with much passion put behind it. i made one of the trailers on the steam page and i host a fair few amount of servers in the game (Kyekful of Frags) it's worth noting that since the disappearance of the dev, the highlighted server list on the main menu excludes some servers that you'd be able to see in the legacy "find servers" browser. also, at 1:08 you noted that there was only one server with players, when the bottom right of the "main menu box" said it excluded showing you 1 full server. you can usually expect to find one full US server at peak US times and one full EU server at peak EU times. great video overall :D

Thank you so much for checking out Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory! I was the one who suggested it on Twitter, not sure if anyone else did on discord but I appreciate it very much! Will be exciting! The coverage you did on it was amazing, I learned a ton I didn't know about! There is another game I can recommend my brother reminded me of, called Tremulous, it has potential to be the most unique "dead game" I think! It's an Alien vs Human PvP shooter where you try to destroy each others base but get stronger over time, humans get better weapons, turrets, and the aliens can upgrade into stronger aliens, and put some type of defense down I believe. It's a really crazy game, released back in 2006!
wolfenstein enemy territory was the only shooter i spend so much time on that i became, he must be cheating good. that game was so addicting! and i'm not even a big fps fan. Tremulous, was my friends group go to game for lan parties, really unique game and made the matches really interesting. hiding your base as alians, and as human you mostly turtled, build defenses till you actually got decent gear.. similiar game to natural selection, but in my opinion way better.
@@unknown235 Love to hear you enjoyed both of those games as well! Some awesome stories you have :) Tremulous was incredibly unique and was so well made for its time, really is a hidden gem! And I believe people still play it to this day, hopefully we can get Rye to try it out :)
I wanted to suggest ET myself. Even if I'm not playing that much I still think that is the best FPS game that was made. I'm coming back to it from time to time and I think this is a good time to download et legacy again. I remember playing it 10+ years ago as a child.
I really wish Xfire was still a thing. A few years back I wanted to see how many hours I spent playing ET. Probably 1k+, I would come home from school in 2007ish and play sooo much of it. Even being 14 or so around the time, I formed so many friends through the game, most of them being double my age. I still think of them from time to time, even coming 15 years for some of them. Such simpler times they were... My favorite map, of the official maps, was either Gold Rush or Oasis. My favorite unofficial map was one of the various Rats maps, it was a two story house with a tram on the stairs if you choose to take it over jumping up them, I forget the name of the map. I can still hear "We have captured the Old City! Dynamite the Old City wall." "They've reclaimed the Old City" "We have captured the Old City! Dynamite the Old City wall." "They've reclaimed the Old City" "We have captured the Old City! Dynamite the Old City wall." "They've reclaimed the Old City" Spammed so much while playing Allies on Oasis. I remember being a cracked as fuck player in it, but then I quit FPS's for WoW and my twitch shooter powers left my body...probably with age too...nearly 30 and I still want to go back to these times of vibing in ET with my friends.
Oh my goodness, it's Spiral Knights! I remember playing a lot when I was a kid! Sadly with no new major updates, there's not really much you can do when you've done everything. It's a very charming game with phenomenal music. If you find the art style familiar, it's because the director also worked on Slime Rancher.
The problem with WW1 games, especially ones in trench warfare settings, is that the vast majority of people hate "campers" especially campers with sniper weapons like high powered bolt actions shooting you from so far away you probably don't even know where they are...but that's literally what WW1 trench warfare was. Yeah when people dropped into enemy trenches it was different but most of the time it was stagnant with a wide open no man's land and people "camping" taking cheeky pot shots at each other because everyone basically had sniper weapons without scopes that ballistically could be effective at 700 meters or more. This is why I simultaneously am very annoyed by Battlefield 1 not being like WW1 at all with lots and lots of SMG's and automatic weapons when irl WW1 had 90% of people using bolt actions and maybe handguns...I completely understand why DICE did it. Truly authentic WW1 combat would not be popular AT ALL to mainstream shooter gamers.
There's actually a mode in BF1 called "back to basics" that's exactly what what you want. Everyone can only use the standard infantry equipment for their country. The issue is that people are so obsessed with automatic guns that it never really took off.
Verdun (and its sequels) is absolutely the best WWI game out there, and it's annoying to no end for me that "vaguely historically accurate WWI shooter" is such an unpopular genre. It's really a barrel of fun when you've got a big active server.
Really enjoy your dead game exploring. Its part investigating, part mystery, part sad, part heartwarming. Always entertaining. Thank you for doing what you do and for sharing it with us:)
I used to play Spiral Knights. Played it with a small group, but we all eventually hit the grind wall. Some of us stayed, some of us didn't. We did eventually disband - mostly because of the lack of content updates. I still log in to chill inside the hub sometimes.
Never thought I would see Tactical Ops again. That part bought so many memories back, I could cry. I've played this game for several hundred hours via LAN against my childhood friends. I miss those times really bad. 😢
Spiral knights is great, its like a "baby's frist mmorpg" since there are no real classes, no real skills, the damage types and status effects are easy to understand. Tho the game gets really hard on the last levels of the main story. As you said the first mission feel really easy and enjoyable, but i'd say that a lot of people stopped playing when they hit the "hall of heroes" wall. That mission requires you to get better gear to rank up and progress on the mission line. To get such gear you can use recipees to craft armor and weapons (tho you can buy armors and weapons from some npc vendors or the player market, its really expensive and not worth it), to craft you need 3 alchemy orbs of different tier for each recipe, and the missions you complete give you around 8 orbs for the tier you need to equip, thus allowing you to craft 2 of the 4 pieces needed to pass the hall of heroes. Therefore that leaves you requiring 4 more orbs of that tier. Orbs arent thst easy to come by, you can get them to drop from the reward crates around the levels (usually at the end of each level, near the lift), or you could also buy them from other players (or with real money from the energy shop). Another important thing is that energy, the premium currency, used to be a time refill currency that limited how much you could play, each level required you 10 energy irc to complete, it capoed at 100 for free but you could add more energy by buying (it still refilled up to 100) and you vould use it to buy stuff from the energy store. Not its just a premium currency like rp in league or golden eagles in war thunder. Id say the most crazy grinding the game faces is the grind for unique modifiers for armors and weapons but i'd say thats more of a "im at the end of the grind and i need a reason to play" . Also a lot of people quit playing when they get the free tf2 hat.
I was a beast at Fistful of Frags, loved to play akimbo derringers, just running around executing players point blank and being awfully toxic about it, fun times.
Fistfull of Frags is still one of my favorite source games ever. Even though it's been a long time since I've last played it, me and my friends still reference the silly voicelines like "Pass the Hwhisky!" and "Oooh, Santa Lucia!" all the time. I hope it gets a remaster at some point in the future, maybe once source 2 becomes more widespread. If you are looking for more dead games, I would check out these 3 games: one is called Wreckfest/Next Car Game, it was a racing game with realistic crash physics similar to Beamng, but it never seemed to catch on. the vehicle handling wasn't the best and it also had some performance issues. It does have a fair amount of people still playing it, but they seem to mostly be from Asia. The game also had a demolition derby mode that was very fun. The second game would be Spintires, a logging/mud-bogging simulator with realistic mud physics. Basically, you are in the backwoods of Russia and have to navigate through mud and rivers in your shitty GAZ truck without getting stuck. The multiplayer was pretty fun as you could cooperate to help each other overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. It wasn't really that popular to begin with, so I wonder if there is anyone at all still playing it. Lastly, I would recommend checking out the original (and in my opinion superior) Insurgency. Insurgency 1 was one of my all time favorite games. The gunplay and the TTK was absolutely perfect and the weapon modding was ahead of its time. Insurgency Sandstorm had a terrible launch and really failed to capture what was so special about Ins1. Things were getting better, but recently the devs of Insurgency Sandstorm were bought up by Embracer Group, who promptly fired the entire team and essentially destroyed whatever future the game had. I really miss Insurgency and it is really sad to see the future of the series get snuffed.
Hey, I been thinking about this specific video a lot since ive seen it because spiral knights used to be one of my absolute favorite games. I joined it because of a friend, and even after getting another friend to play I was the only one left playing it in the end. I loved that game. Lol, obviously- but the grind wall mentioned was *very* real. A lot of the times you'd be on there grinding instead of making any progression- because after a point it does definitely slow down. I think i joined in a weird timeframe- because i started when it was relatively active, i was even in a guild of sorts- i got to say hi to people every day as i got on the game, and at the same time witness it dwindle into a wasteland of afk people. One of the reasons i really had to stop playing awhile, other then the grind wall- was the fact i had run out of the games "revival" items. Of which you need the premium (paid) currency for. I already spent a decent bit of money on the game over time, so it came to a point where i eventually had to stop- and the players left didnt really want to team with me. I was too weak for the higher up crazy players, and i wasnt a newbie. I was stuck in a weird middle i eventually couldn't get myself out of in a dying game i still hold fond memories with. I really hope it becomes more alive one day.. the video made me wanna play again- but i doubt many people will play it anymore after so long of nothing new.
fistful of frags was a classic, i remember playing it from standalone release and im happy atleast a few people come home to pasture just to enjoy it again. I only ever played spiral knight for a free tf2 hat tho. The enemy territory tournament footage seemed charming and it inspired me to download the game since it seems fun and reminds me of og DOD or BF1942.
Hey Rye, thank you for the videos you make, i dont know why but they cheer me up alot watching them, and things have been pretty hard for me recently so watching your content has helped alot. I hope you have a good Christmas if you celebrate it, and hope you have a day
Your videos about dead and abandoned games are some of the coziest I know. Recently stumbled unto them, and seeing a group of 15-20-ish people keeping a otherwise dead game alive just by themselves is just so cozy and I don't even know why. So thank you for making these videos, I really appreciate them and you.
for me spiral knight have a lot of memories with friends, but then my friends left, my guild broke to Pieces and soon after that i quit too, but for me this is one of those game you can never truly quit. i can't keep myself from hop back to the game from time to time just to remember what the game once was
To this day Wolf ET is still the best team based multiplayer fps I have ever played. Sunk thousands of hours into back in the day. Still hoping for a HD remaster one day...
Spiral knights, I used to play it twice every day once before I went to school and when i came home it was one of two games i used to play with my brother(i had no friends to play it with back then and was too not social due to never making conversation or connection with other students back then), i stopped playing as the little netbook used for it gave up on life and I forgot about the game and only tried once to find it again on a new laptop but both email and account were lost to time maybe I'll try again to revive that netbook and transfer the account to my current one and play it again for nostalgia sake . Thank you Rye for hitting me with nostalgia
looks like HAWGT has 11 VAC Banns and 7 Game Banns on his steam account which puts him on rank 41 of the most VAC Bann steam accounts FYI: rank 1 hast 66 VAC Banns 50 Game Banns
To be fair that's about the only way to interact in Dread Hunger. When I used to watch people play it with friends on Twitch, they were always fighting in the lobby despite being friendly.
These videos are all so wholesome, you have such good energy and shouting out smaller creators, communities, dude it bangs, I come back for all of these videos. Glad you do what you do. Keep it up
Used to play fistful of frags a good amount with a friend back in 2016 when we basically just played free game; he always acted like it was a cool game everyone played I had no idea it was already around 500 players by then
I'm the pehmo from verdun, yes I'm one of the better players. Thought I'd give my thoughts (rant) on the game having played for nearly 2k hours now. It's unfortunate how the developers threw the competitive community of verdun under the bus. Before the big update in 2018 there were many tournaments, often with real prizes, and lots of competitive players. The worst change for us in the big 2018 update was the removal of a game mechanic called jumpshooting, pretty self explanatory what that was. We asked if they could leave it in as an option in private lobbies, which would have been a win-win for both casual and comp players - they don't have to get shot by someone flying around, and we could keep playing competitively. But they said no, never explained why. That was in addition to just generally ignoring their most loyal players, countless in-game bugs (most of which are still unfixed), the bots which are absolutely terrible and much more. I'll end the rant with a rhetorical question, where would any popular fps like Counter Strike, Rainbow 6 etc. be today if they weren't competitive (meaning balanced, with skill based gameplay)? They'd be where verdun is now, dead. People like competitive games (Counter Strike), people dislike dying to bots and random grenades / artillery (Verdun).
Wolfenstein Enemy Territory was my childhood alongside Rune HoV and Quake 3 Arena, seeing it in your list made me so damn nostalgic. Appreciate it and keep the good work !
I used to play Spiral knights when I was young, middle school to highschool, with a few friends. We didn't get crazy far, but we started a small youtube channel dedicated to fighting our favorite boss. We recorded like twenty runs of fighting Fluffy (just a big pile of fur, I forget the name) to get his armour set. I remember loving the style most of all, like all the enemies were charming. I was especially drawn to customizing the little fella, though it was always extremely grindy to get the nicer customizations. Wild to see a game I finally know in this batch!
Call me pedantic or whatever but the way you pronounce "Wolfenstein" (when you even include clips of people saying it correctly) drives me absolutely mad
The bots really killed Verdun from it being popular. It also used to play a whole lot more like call of duty, with jump shots and all kinds of broken movement mechanics. once the developers got rid of all this the game slowly died out. The players now while good were a lot better before the changes i feel like. Pehmo(while i talk to him occasionally) is good he's by far no where near the best the game has to offer. while you'll prolly never see this or try the game again its always good to see someone enjoy it
Damn I had forgotten about fistful of frags for almost a decade now… was so fun playing it back in 2014/2015 when the servers were populated. Good times.
I've played Spiral Knights for 700 hours when i was a kid, i stopped playing the game and lost my password to my account a long time ago. This game was great, lots of grind and pay to win/play but a great game overall. Thank you for bringing back memories!
you add such a personal touch to these games and theirs stories that is much needed. i appreciate you shedding light on these lesser known games and the history behind the players themselves.
OMG Spiral knights made the cut ! When mmos were at it's PEAK. Games like Spiral knights, Fusion fall, World of Warcraft. Good times man . Also I personally left for standard grindy reasons after about 2 years.
This series has been fantastic .. for anyone 34-42 this style and types of games, especially the ones on the source engine where the best and my childhood . It’s amazing how games haven’t gotten better just better graphics but most have actually went backwards in terms of fun .
For some reason, I didnt expect to see Tactical Ops here. It was my first proper FPS game (even though demo CDs of some other games were more popular) in 2003 and didnt play anything else back then. It was always against the bots since 56k adsl modem with 100kps was slow as hell, but it was fun to play singleplayer too. Waking up early in the weekend just to play it till my parents get angry because I play a lot. All the other games like CoD, MoH, Wolfenstein, Unreal, Quake etc were great but TO:AoT was something entirely else. It was like a magical experience for me. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
fistfull of frags was one of the first pc games i ever played. i played it off and on for years, about 2014-2016. its sad to see its dead, but it was truly something special
Just a little piece of info - if you get VAC banned on one of the Valve's games, you get banned across most of the games on the same engine. It's been like that since forever. Unless I missed the update where it was per-game nowadays. So if he got banned on CS1.6, the player would be banned on All games that are on the same engine - Ricochet, HL1, etc. So that helps with "collecting" the bans more effectively :))
Damn, Enemy Territory absolutely brings me back to my teenage years, I was a very avid player and played pretty much every waking hour and was even quite good if I may say so myself. I honestly wasn't aware that it was still up and running and might just give it a go for old times sake, it's a very fun game, especially if you play with friends and keep constant communication since that's what's going to win you the match.
I play Fist Full Of Frags a lot! Sadly it is dying.. BUT (minus a few idiots) the community it has left has stayed dedicated and we're usually super chill and have a good time :)
ET is such a great game. First fps i ever played, around 15 years ago. Such good memories playing with my brother. Every school vacation we played it every day. The simple times😔
Dude I bought dread hunger when it released, and it was an amazing experience. Dropped off of it becasue of work but idk how that game failed! It's so great
That's so sad bro... Thank you very much for this kind of content. It really touches my heart and reminds awesome playtime for some of us, and it gives a glance of awareness to revive some old gems for others.
Seeing you play Fistful of Frags brought back so many fond memories. I might need to jump back into that game. BTW. Playing the challenge missions will teach you a lot about the game, and some of them are also really fun.

What's wrong with being a foreigner?"
Well the guy (or guys, kinda hard to tell from the voice) who thought you were a fake foreigner apparently insisted that he's right even until the last clip, he was saying something like you can understand Chinese, you're just pretending to be someone from another country lol
That whole scenario was so funny and surreal. Thanks for the translations
Guess chinaboys are racist.

I still play this game time to time and I still adore it
I don't feel any of the WW1 series games are DEAD, only "wounded" i guess.
@@blitz8221 yeah the bots definitely help and with Verdun you can always end up on a full server in Europe and have great fun!!
Fistful of Frags is so much fun! I remember playing it a lot when they released the standalone version. Pass the whiskey!
YES!! my dad played it when he was in College, and now I'M playing it in College. (mechanical engineering)
ive been playing fistful of frags since standalone and it still makes me tear up seeing that some of the cows still come home every now and then to relive this gem.
YEEHAW
Dino D-day is unpolished gem in large abandoned shooters pool.
I think IMO it's one of the best MP Source mods that ever existed.
thank you for covering fistful of frags, the community is small but we're always looking to show new players something that's not only free but genuinely good fun with much passion put behind it. i made one of the trailers on the steam page and i host a fair few amount of servers in the game (Kyekful of Frags)
it's worth noting that since the disappearance of the dev, the highlighted server list on the main menu excludes some servers that you'd be able to see in the legacy "find servers" browser. also, at 1:08 you noted that there was only one server with players, when the bottom right of the "main menu box" said it excluded showing you 1 full server. you can usually expect to find one full US server at peak US times and one full EU server at peak EU times.
great video overall :D
That HAWGT dude is on a fucking mission, im not sure of his objective but damn i commend the dude for his dedication
Hawgt doing the opposite of Rye and going through games just to troll them is hilarious

Hopefully, he does Enemy Territory Quake Wars next
I can still hear
"We have captured the Old City! Dynamite the Old City wall."
"They've reclaimed the Old City"
"We have captured the Old City! Dynamite the Old City wall."
"They've reclaimed the Old City"
"We have captured the Old City! Dynamite the Old City wall."
"They've reclaimed the Old City"
Spammed so much while playing Allies on Oasis.
Verdun was a banger as a browser game.
I got back to it this year, a little bit of nostalgia.
Can you share link to browser game?
@@karolkrajewski9098 its on steam now, but in like 2014 u could play it as a browser game.
@@karolkrajewski9098it's probably long gone now. I personally remember it being hosted on kongregate but I couldn't find it.
Coordination and call-in placement is key. Taking the trench in verdun is piss easy when the entire length of it is covered in gas.
WW1 was the end of traditional military tactics, and the beginning of new tactics. Kinda both morphed into one.
There's actually a mode in BF1 called "back to basics" that's exactly what what you want. Everyone can only use the standard infantry equipment for their country. The issue is that people are so obsessed with automatic guns that it never really took off.
I mean, I don't have a problem with it since it was fun and really got me into WW1, and now I'm enjoying isonzo right now.
Oh man i used to love fist full of frags. Played because of jerma, what a blast from the past
I used to play Spiral Knights. Played it with a small group, but we all eventually hit the grind wall. Some of us stayed, some of us didn't. We did eventually disband - mostly because of the lack of content updates. I still log in to chill inside the hub sometimes.
What sucks about dread hunger is that one group of TH-camrs I watch (salt raiders) have a good chunk of videos on it. Loved watching them play it.
It is crazy that Wolfenstein is still going strong. A lot of memories😢
I was a beast at Fistful of Frags, loved to play akimbo derringers, just running around executing players point blank and being awfully toxic about it, fun times.
I loved playing with dynamite and being reckless.
Ah, Insurgency, good times. Spintires was later rebranded Mudrunner iirc. Had a sequel called Snowrunner, still gets updated.
Man I wish I had friends that could reference FoF with me.
Wreckfest is dead? I thought it was going strong, it’s one of the best demo derby games out there.
I remember Fistful of Frags very well despite never played it, it always showed up in my steam store
Hey Rye, thank you for the videos you make, i dont know why but they cheer me up alot watching them, and things have been pretty hard for me recently so watching your content has helped alot. I hope you have a good Christmas if you celebrate it, and hope you have a day
Fistful of frags was so much fun when I was younger used to play with my mates, haven’t spoken to those guys for years
WE NEED AN INTERVIEW WITH HAWGT
Your videos about dead and abandoned games are some of the coziest I know. Recently stumbled unto them, and seeing a group of 15-20-ish people keeping a otherwise dead game alive just by themselves is just so cozy and I don't even know why. So thank you for making these videos, I really appreciate them and you.
You should check out Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. It's similar to Wolfenstein enemy territory, and has a pretty small but devoted community.
This
People still play this? I played it a ton in high school
lol i play this with bots on ps3 super fun battlefield-like game
holy shit, haven't heard this name in years
19:18 Kind of cool to randomly hear someone speaking my language in one of your videos, just shows that these games are beloved all around the world.
Fist full of frags is fun. I was just playing it about a month ago. There were usually 12 people hoping between game modes.
As a Dread Hunger Player, thanks for checking out the game while its on its last legs
for me spiral knight have a lot of memories with friends, but then my friends left, my guild broke to Pieces and soon after that i quit too, but for me this is one of those game you can never truly quit. i can't keep myself from hop back to the game from time to time just to remember what the game once was
To this day Wolf ET is still the best team based multiplayer fps I have ever played. Sunk thousands of hours into back in the day. Still hoping for a HD remaster one day...
Need a medic! I mean need a remaster!
Fistul of frag is actually a game that I use to play a lot and love this game same fore verdun and tanneberg
The amount of research you do is nuts. Keep it up.
Spiral knights, I used to play it twice every day once before I went to school and when i came home it was one of two games i used to play with my brother(i had no friends to play it with back then and was too not social due to never making conversation or connection with other students back then),
i stopped playing as the little netbook used for it gave up on life and I forgot about the game and only tried once to find it again on a new laptop but both email and account were lost to time maybe I'll try again to revive that netbook and transfer the account to my current one and play it again for nostalgia sake .
Thank you Rye for hitting me with nostalgia
Just in time for rendering, perfect timing. Happy holidays!
I used to play Fistful of Frags. Really loved that game and it was thriving back then

To be fair that's about the only way to interact in Dread Hunger. When I used to watch people play it with friends on Twitch, they were always fighting in the lobby despite being friendly.
Please never fake your videos, coz i love the interactions between a random team mates in game
Is Double Action Boogaloo still a thing? Maybe it could be covered in this series

Tactical Ops holds a dear place in my heart. The monster servers, the sniping maps and the simpsons map was so much fun back then
Dread Hunger will be missed
Used to play fistful of frags a good amount with a friend back in 2016 when we basically just played free game; he always acted like it was a cool game everyone played I had no idea it was already around 500 players by then
Sup
Happy holidays, Rye. Really love your videos! Keep up the excellent work 🎉
I used to play Spiral knights when I was young, middle school to highschool, with a few friends.
Imagine having such a sad life as the guy who's been cheating for 24 years..
ive played wolf et since 2006 . past 10 years on and off, but that game will continue to hold a special place in my heart
Pehmo(while i talk to him occasionally) is good he's by far no where near the best the game has to offer.
while you'll prolly never see this or try the game again its always good to see someone enjoy it
Kicking in Fistful of Frags is about the most fun you can have with a melee attack in games.
I love FoF. I don't play it anymore because of lack of players, no updates and hackers but damn, do I got fond memories
Love the videos man thanks for checking out fistful of frag!
Damn I had forgotten about fistful of frags for almost a decade now… was so fun playing it back in 2014/2015 when the servers were populated. Good times.

I was surprised to hear the maplestory temple of time song at around 22:00. 😊
OMG Spiral knights made the cut ! When mmos were at it's PEAK. Games like Spiral knights, Fusion fall, World of Warcraft. Good times man . Also I personally left for standard grindy reasons after about 2 years.
Tannenburg and Verdun are some of my favorite games. I love the ww1 games. Thanks for showing them off
This series has been fantastic .. for anyone 34-42 this style and types of games, especially the ones on the source engine where the best and my childhood . It’s amazing how games haven’t gotten better just better graphics but most have actually went backwards in terms of fun .
I'm so glad FoF made it to this list. It was one of my favourite games back in the early 2010s.
I'm glad it still has a small playerbase
Too bad I missed you playing FOF, I play that game a few times a week.
One of my favorites, glad to see it getting attention
Hey, Rye. In case you decide to make a video on single-player dead games, then I would recommend Jalopy and Luftwaffe Commander.
fistfull of frags was one of the first pc games i ever played. i played it off and on for years, about 2014-2016. its sad to see its dead, but it was truly something special
"by who?? by who??" is for sure the thing I say most playing verdun, tannemberg and now isonzo lol
21:35 Tactical Ops was my Childhood, i used to play it whenever i would get bored of Unreal Tournament...
It's sad to see it "die"
I don't know why i haven't read one comment that pointed this out but bro's voice is soooo chill it's just great😂
ET is such a great game. First fps i ever played, around 15 years ago. Such good memories playing with my brother. Every school vacation we played it every day. The simple times😔
Dude I bought dread hunger when it released, and it was an amazing experience. Dropped off of it becasue of work but idk how that game failed! It's so great
The whole interaction at the card table was hysterical.
Sometimes I hate being a gamer. Playing everything and leaving it all behind constantly. It hurts. But it's taught me so much.
Idk why but I love this videos, I didn't even played this games but watching this gives me some weird nostalgy feelings
That's so sad bro... Thank you very much for this kind of content. It really touches my heart and reminds awesome playtime for some of us, and it gives a glance of awareness to revive some old gems for others.
Sad to see what happened to Dread Hunger. I enjoyed that game, sad to see it go.
Seeing you play Fistful of Frags brought back so many fond memories. I might need to jump back into that game. BTW. Playing the challenge missions will teach you a lot about the game, and some of them are also really fun.
