I am SO glad I found your guys channel because this is fantastic! Some songs I knew were sampled, others I was like "That sounds oddly familiar.... Wonder why" and others I just had absolutely no clue, and it's so entertaining! You guys lay out the video really well too, and I love the facts you provide (especially so detailed like in the Avicii levels video) Keep it up!
This is great! I loved “More, More, More” when it came out, and I also loved “Steal My Sunshine,” and from the moment I first heard “Steal My Sunshine,” I always thought “I swear that’s from something from the ‘70s,” but I could never put my finger on what, despite having listened to BOTH SONGS many times over subsequent years. I have each of them on playlists I made and listen to frequently, yet I still never put it together! I rarely miss things like that. I’m glad I found this today, because now I finally know. I suppose I might have been able to find the info somewhere if I’d done a web search, but it’s one of those things I tried to figure out for so long, I’d given up before things like Google and Wikipedia were around, so it didn’t occur to me to look into it again. Now if I could just figure out why I was so certain “Uptown Funk” was using a sample from a ‘70s song (because I have tried to look that up and have never seen any mention of sampling being used in it, so I guess it doesn’t), and I wish I could figure out which song it reminds me of. That’s been driving me crazy for years.
I don’t know that they sampled that. As a drummer it’s a very simple beat and with triggers, that snare sound would be very obvious to try. Just my 2 cents.
