This just proves, Baseball isn't just a game; it's family. Coming from an Atlanta Braves fan, even some five or so months later watching this still gives me chills. Rest easy Jose.

I will never forget this game. I watched it on the Mets broadcast, but it was just as emotional. Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez both cried on camera. I'm not sure baseball has ever had to deal with such a loss. There were so many emotional moments in this game, but watching the Marlins leave the field after leaving their hats on the mound was incredibly harrowing. The Mets seemed moved as well, staying in their dugout until the Marlins had left the field.

This was very emotional for everyone and for me. I was crying when I had to wake up to see that terrible ESPN update on my phone. I am not a Marlins fan but when I went to Miami Jose started and it was the year after he won his rookie of the year award and you could just tell how much the fans loved him. Every time he got a strikeout the stadium erupted with cheers. He ended shutting out the Padres. The fans loved him and I couldn't imagine being a Marlins fan and that happening to a young pitcher. I play baseball at my high school and ever since I was a kid I have worn number 8 but this season in high school I wore 16 for Jose.

Whoever didn't cry dosen't have a heart or love for the sport i like some other people use baseball as a time to relax the mind i watched this man pitch day in and day out without having a fruan on his face they loved him like a brother and a teammate but what really hits home is i heard about his personality and the way he not afraid to do the hardest things i was 7 years old when i got a heart condition 2 years later i was 9 and going in for surgery wasn't even afraid i heard about him and I have that same personality there was many different times and types of conditions I had that could have killed me

after today, I came back to this. Yordano Ventura and Andy Marte died in two separate car accidents in the Dominican Republic. I watched this mainly because all of the tragic baseball deaths in the last 6 months have left me with somber and with a point to prove. no one deserves to go at such a young age, no matter who you are, no matter where you live, no one deserves to go like that. this was a sad day in the baseball world, it was a sad day in the sports world in general and the way they played, I can't see anyone watching this game then or in the future with a dry eye. today was another sad day in the baseball world. Two great players with tremendously bright futures died in separate car accidents. I will never forget these two days and I will never forget the three outstanding athletes who died on these days. they were great, talented people on and off the field, as an athlete and as a person. I pray for the best for their families and hope for the best. R.I.P. Jose Fernandez🙏
    R.I.P. Yordano Ventura🙏
    R.I.P. Andy Marte🙏
all great people with great futures
