@Yankee Fan the reason I wrote that is the size of the tarp and efficiency of the process which I didn't think it's worth for because I see a lot of people handling bad weather conditions on other sports and that was a first one for me. But when I think of baseball I get it. Of course I know what a tarp might be used for but I didn't know what is the term tarp means in English before watching this video. Tyler Livingston A 70 mph wind is very strong. I was in a 50 mph wind and could barely stand straight. Getting hit by the edge of the tarp at that speed can be painful, or fatal. People have been killed hitting a solid surface at less than 1 mph

Also, considering the fact that everyone else was holding it and preventing the tarp from going all over the field, I don't see how he could have gotten hit by the edge of it. And 1 mph??? haha what? Sorry if it sounds condescending but, "Dear MLB, please talk to an engineer." This wind and tarp problem materializes time and again all throughout the league, year after year. All that's needed is a large hole in the very middle of the tarp. The wind which gets under the tarp will just exit that hole, not at all affecting your effort to lay the tarp. Then once the tarp is down you go and place another tarp on top of that hole.
With winds that strong the tarp edges would still flap around and give you problems, hole or no hole. Hence the tarp flew away before it was properly unpacked so a hole wouldn't have helped anyways. In this specific situation at least.
