- Dear friends
Let’s evaluate the last Ipoh hidden gems episode. Whilst the general audience liked my honest opinion of criticizing selected food but some felt that since my channel is showcasing great food, isn’t it a little contradictory to bring up the bad food. Perhaps you are right, but based on the understanding that nobody is perfect, granted, I criticized some vendors but on the other hand I was full of praise for the same vendor too. If I keep the same formula of giving top marks for everyone, the whole format can get predictable. Perhaps is it why my videos are getting less viewership these days. I thought the no-hold-back criticisms is one way to spice up my videos. It’s still work in progress, no worries, nothing is written stones. Not yet.
Meanwhile please go out and support the local street food, be it in Bandar Mahkota or otherwise. Thanks, and see you in the next.

Elmo, I appreciate the fact that you're not afraid to critique the food and give your honest opinion, rather than just saying everything is amazing. Your attention to detail and willingness to explore different cuisines and cultures make your reviews stand out from other food critics. It's also refreshing to see the effort you put into learning about the people and places behind the food.
Overall, I think your reviews are incredibly helpful for those who are looking for authentic and delicious food experiences. Your honesty and transparency about your experiences, including the use of MSG, is also appreciated. Keep up the great work, Elmo! You're one unique presenter.
Thanks mate for your flattery which I don’t fully deserved
Many food blogger ( incl yourself ) are beacon of inspiration and hope for promoting our Malaysian foodculture as a whole, showcasing Malaysia's gem to the world thru your TH-cam. You did a great job and your contribution truly deserve all the recognition and award ( if there's any ) as our country are way lack behind Thailand and Singapore in Food tourism. Your definitely leading the way now. Stay positive Elmo..do not bother those nay sayer. Like the saying goes... "Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power.” ~Shirley MacLaine.
Cheers 🥂 bro.
Thanks for the great inspiration lowe
Thanx for another episode of excitement. I do, however, miss what you did last episode when you include prices of the food you ordered.
Elmo you are a good food reviewer . Bloody hell the lady at 63 restoran had a face like thunder 😂. Well done mate . Keep up the good work .
Thanks Ravi for ur sympathy
Wonderful introduction to Bandar Mahkota. Thanks, Elmo! 🇸🇬
Thanks Mark
Great video as always! Always stay true to your principle, we appreciate your honest reviews. Keep it up.
Honesty is the best policy
As long as the reviews are made with no bias and solely truth in mind, then the reviews should be made regardless of good or bad. Keep it up!
Thanks for the confidence Tan
Bro..... i like your food video......... Good Show....... Keep It Up.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for supporting mate
I like your presentation very much. Clear, concise and easy to understand. About the population, 50,000 in subtitles vs 500,000 五十万 spoken.
Sorry Edward I always make mistakes on figures. Thanks for correcting me
Honest opinion is what draws me to your video . Keep it up as that is your great traits ! Food is a very subjective matter .. you nailed it by saying " one man's meat is another man's poison " . Anyway Bandar Mahkota is a place I have never been and honestly i dont intend to go anytime soon ... but its good to know there are great food places there. Thank you !
Thanks mate
Hi Mr Lee, whatever you do or don't do, also people will talk. Please continue to speak your mind.
Always threading on eggshells and trying to please everyone to say the food is nice is not going to be good for you and your channel.
We do TH-cam as an outlet to freely (within reason) to express ourselves. If here also we need to put on a "show" then I see no reason to do TH-cam anymore.
I like the way you start the video by visiting the local wet market. I'm looking for a place to go at Bandar Mahkota Cheras and your video pop up.
Now you made me curious about Jalan Peel too.
Thanks for the English subtitles too, it was very helpful to a non-Cantonese speaker like myself.
Have a great day and keep producing videos Mr Lee!
Thanks for your honest comment kenny
One’s man meat is another man’s poison - very true indeed. Don’t worry - as long as this is done with an honest personal opinion , that is good enough. Great episode with so many good ‘tong sooi’ dessert and exclusive recipes from this Bandar Mahkota’s food haunting finds. The vegetarian restaurant illustrates good and original authentic vegetarian food. Thank you Elmo for showing us Bdr Mahkota’s side and also to your pal Gerry for doing some homework to spark this episode alive. Yatt Lau 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽….. and of course…… Mou tak Deng !!! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Malaysia has a lot of ethnicities cuisines and Chinese cuisines. coffee shops. restaurants. hawker there are all kinds of cuisines Thanks you Elmo & Danny Loke & Garry for intro Malaysian cuisine. 🙏 🇲🇾 🤝 🇸🇬 👍.
You r most welcome mak
We need Elmo & gang to give honest review for continual improvement. Pls share and subscribe to support his effort.
With due respect, it is ethnic cuisine and Chinese cuisine. The full stop is to signify the end of a sentence and not continuation. Please read widely in English to note the correct grammar and sentence construction. Sorry I find such mistakes very glaring and off putting. I apologise unreservedly for correcting the sentence.
谢谢介绍,拍摄的镜头很好。小龙餐室招牌“菠萝饱”为什么是倒过来的?
原來你都有注意到, 我都覺得好奇怪

hi mr lee... welcome to mahkota cheras... here food is normal only more choice but taste so so only. some more price getting expensive.
Yes price is higher than other cheras areas
Only the Good Timing Food Village which is in my boycott list for high prices. Other food court prices are okay, unless you eat in cafe style then it is expensive. Example: ELK Kopitiam related to May King's Lam Mee in Jln Yew, Pudu, it is so expensive, I am not going back there to eat.
Ya lah good timing is expensive, dunno what for
@@malaysiafood328 mahkota cheras area food is getting commercial expensive.... compare to pj some place price is cheapest.
Mr Lee, we will always support you, please continue giving honest comments.
Thanks a lot

Elmo , you are like a historian cum excellent food reviewer 👍 any possibility with regards to history do a review of secret societies of the 70s n 80s when u do your walk abouts in the older part of KL ? 😊
Thanks Alex perhaps secret society is a challenge but worth looking into
👍👍👍
Hello Elmo : this video is very entertaining and informative BUT for visitors from o/s , it's difficult to sample such wide arrays of available cuisines mainly because of time constraints
🤬😡😥😢😩😫☹️🙁
I miss nonya kueh , popiah , tong shui and so much more 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
Thanks Harry u would need a couple of days to savour the good food
As for Korean food, once you're very regular, then you're used to the famous options apart from just kimchi
Yes u will grow to enjoy it
👍👍👍👍👍
It is so true about long queue, it is not guaranteed taste great. I have encountered a few. While taking the food, I was wondering what am I missing that everyone is queuing for? Sometimes it is really mind-bloggling.
Food is subejctive, I am agreeable with Elmo only 70% but I did found some gems through Elmo.
Good Timing Food Village is on my boycott list because of the pricing. There are so many more food courts in Mahkota Cheras, except this 24 hours outlet.
Thanks Lai well said

Extremely right, Elmo! Taste is a very subjective thing as we are always emphasizing about. You are a TH-camr who share your experiences on foods, not a promoter for any eatery services, what's wrong to dare speaking your mind? Please go on with what you are doing without bothering too much about unnecessary cacophonies!
Thanks for the sympathy John
Could your low viewership be due to your support for the Penang shop's insistent of ordering a drink (in an earlier episode) even if customer ordered food from the stalls who pays daily rental to the shop owner? Just wondering..
Thanks Adrian that’s a good observation
I just try the Beef noodle u recommend, it's taste So so only ...
Nothing special..
人又怎样能拿苍蝇来做比喻呢😂?其实什么东西无论做到好还是不好都会有各方面的评论,你也不必太介意,因为每个人都有不同的角度去看东西,更何况是人的味蕾😅
謝謝支持
i laughed when u say that a bunch of flies surround crap, doesnt mean the crap is good
Thanks How that’s the analogy I sometimes give to my students
Maybe the title don't use "最正”,bcz easily trigger sensitive haters😂😂😂
Unfortunately BEST is Cantonese's 最正
