Man i played the F out this game as a kid and that metal gear penguins part was my first experience with stealth games. No wonder i ended up getting into metal gear as a teen.
I wasn't aware it was a Metal Gear reference, I never heard Metal Gear before until I saw my dad played MGS4, MGS3 was the first game I played on my 3DS (it was actually the demo version) and enjoyed it
Same, is it different and go in a lot of different directions? Sure. But it's also incredibly fun and you can tell the developers probably enjoyed themselves too with all the minigames and extra modes included. There are even hidden arcade cabinets in the early levels.
I absolutely love how games from PS2 and any other consoles in the same era was so unapologetically-stupid. Like they're not afraid of having a main story mode and then some weird minigame, or cheat codes, or just straight up wild events in the story mode like the Melman helicopter. It's just pure stupidity at its finest and I wish we could get more of it
@henriquelopes9899 Dying Light 1 & 2 is another good one. They got so many weird easter egg quests. UFO with chicken puppet aliens, dancing zombies, Mario secret level, plants vs zombie secret level, hoverboard, finger gun weapon, etc. And ofc, GTA. I'm not a fan of it but even I know the weird shits that it has.

Former Speedrunning WR holder for this game. This is probably the funniest playthrough of this game ive seen. Espicially the part where you actually thought that the race was canceled. BTW you can beat this game in about 30 minutes.
I remember my mom helped me unlock and then equip the "Alex's Finger" cosmetic (weird control scheme on PC) and then I saw the Finger and hated it so bad, I was so fucking mad because I had forgotten how to unequip it so I had to go through the game with Alex's Fucking Finger and couldn't do anything about it.
Dude when I was a kid my sister and I spent an ungodly amount of time trying to finish this one level, I cannot remember what it was but we COULD NOT beat it. Like at all. We tried everything and even unintentionally finding exploits to skip long segments that required running in loops or up hills and shit (only with Alex I think) but just couldn’t beat the level. Literally just couldn’t. I wonder if I still have this game.

Developers still try now. The problem for when games turn out bad is typically the fault of executives for not giving them enough time or resources to create a good game. Don't blame them when it's not their fault.

Also caring about only graphics instead of actual content, always trying to one up other companies. Also trying to rush for people or a due date, which is typically a bad idea. Dishonored its extremely overrated game n only zoomers feel nostalgic towards it thats why they like it. I wont go into detail why dishonored is rlly bad (i played through it last year btw so it is an up to date view) but there is almost not a single redeeming quality about that game other than the setting is ripping off half life 2.
You know you played this game too much as a kid when you know the exact locations for strength and corners in the golf mini game to get hole in one's. Though Hole 6 will forever haunt my dreams with the crane mechanic's hitbox that can completely ruin a one shot run.
I do remember gloria being at least one vocal kid's awakening. Me on the other hand, I was too busy turning her weight into the superpower to take down battle ships and crush turtle shells in the toy room. It ended up turning into a 3 season war, between the animal kingdoms, and the hippo king was killed like 3 times before the turtles finally won

Played this when my dad brought this to me like in 2009, my favorite was play as Marty and we can kick people and runs away with a funny squeal. I like how Marty reacts when playing arcades Melman's Helicopter animation is pretty funny
This game aged so much better than most movie-to-game adaptations of that era. Like, genuinely. I know for a fact that it's not just nostalgia because I loved Charlie's Angels and some other Disney/Pixar ones but revisiting them now made me realize how much they actually suck as games to replay. Madagascar, on the other hand, has a special place in my heart, it was my favourite back then and it surprised me with how fun it is to experience it as an adult! After the pleasant surprise of learning that my partner also grew up with this game, we watched a whole playthrough by WishingTikal together and just giggled and laughed our asses off. They actually poured so much love and creativity into adapting this, it's insane. Thanks for sharing this beloved game to more people. I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much! 💕
