My sciences classes in high school always called lobsters and shrimps the "roaches of the sea" for how closely related they are with exoskeletons and segmented bodies. I never thought I'd see someone attempt to eat something that actually looks like a roach.
crazy thing, lobsters and shrimp were treated like a roach, people thought of it as a poor persons meal to survive. prisoners ate it etc, only until later on it was popularized as a high class meal. cause shell fish is amazing lmfao
@@croppedcrit8812 Yes, I've heard this story! You know, the same thing could happen with eel and monkfish. Or maybe it's happened already. I wouldn't know. It's really satisfying to see that the sashimi version was delicious for him, seeing as Masaru spent the extra effort to extract that minuscule amount of meat. Now... imagine if he ate the roe raw, when the cooked eggs were already comparable to "kitchen waste" lol.
Imagine if all the animals were actually alive throughout the entire process and only died when he ate them and they’re just playing dead through the whole vid thinking he’d let them go

Funny how people say so many odd things "taste like chicken", but regarding sea food most things seem to also taste alike "like crab" or "like shrimp", which of course makes a lot of sense.
I find people who say a lot of things taste like chicken never had a truly flavourful chicken. Chicken has a strong distinctive taste, but I hear too many people call it bland. I remember eating a piece of KFC chicken and getting confused and distressed at how utterly devoid of proper chicken flavour it was. As if they somehow had extracted almost all of the flavour (and simple normal brining wouldn't do that because I have have eaten normally brined chicken plenty of times). I suspect it was the breed of chicken plus probably its diet. There are chickens bred to grow muscles so fast its bones cannot keep up and they can't support their weight on their legs past a certain point.
Been watching for some weeks now. Glad your videos popped up on my TH-cam one day. Very interesting. & you should make that a thing since most ppl don’t eat it as sashimi, they are missing out then! Also, love your videos. I’m always entertained. :)
