Yes, they definitely need to make a 2nd album! The album is so amazingly phenomenal. The Heart of Amsterdam & Endless Sea are two of my favorite songs ever.

Thanks to Annekes appearance with Amorphis found this Masterpiece of The Year, even though a couple of years too late. I really love this song, applaudes to Arjen Lucassen for composing this, hooking drums and guitars plus melodies. And not to forget singing ladies. I just fell in love with Anneke`s voice. For me the Diary is one of the most beautiful albums ever composed and performed.

Only a few hours ago I was in their farewell concert in Amsterdam. I saw them for the fourth time and also last evening I got a bit emotioned at the moment that Anneke and Marcela sang to eachother in Brightest Light. Every show that moment is the highlight for me. Only some minutes ago I discovered this video and this one is so great. This because I was there in Zoetermeer as well and more important: the quality is great... SO THE QUALITY OF MY THE GENTLE STORM'S HIGHLIGHT TOO... YES YES YES!!!
Agreed Edward, saw the 1st and last show in Amsterdam (both with a terrible bad sound btw imho) and this one in Zoetermeer which was superb! Maybe a good idea if/when the management of Melkweg in Amsterdam invests the 4 Euro 'membershipfee' they ripp-off every person visiting a gig overthere in giving their soundcrew a free course 'basic sound engineering'???
Thanks a lot, van der Gaag, for your reply. An interesting one, because now I know for shure that a soundtechnician only should be judged after checking his/her sound on different positions. The sound of that first concert was amazingly perfect for me... realy impressing. (I can know that because I am a musician and every year I visit many concerts.) My position that evening: down on the floor in the middle. The sound of that last concert was not good for me. My position than: on the balcony, very close to the speakers. A friend, who also is very critical about sound, experienced the sound in that last concert as perfect. He stood down on the floor in the middle. After all I should have been on his position too.The conclusion is clear.
In that case, being a musician yourself, i have a question for you. Shouldn't people who come to see and hear you (and even pay money for it) have the right being treated with good sound wherever their position in the venue is?. I mean the sound in Melkweg is mostly crap no matter who the artist is and the two Gentle Storm gigs were no exception. As said before the gig in Zoetermeer was fabulous (no matter what psoition you had taken in the venue) but then again there hardly ever are concerts with bad sound in Zoetermeer. I thinkit more has something to do with the venue itself and/or their PA-system. There are loads of club venues which have perfect sound no matter which position you have... i should know as i am a bit of an 'old geezer' and have seen hundreds and hundreds of gigs in and outside of The Netherlands sofar.... Another question for you is... how should you go wondering around and check the best sound during the concert when it's completely -sold out- there is simply no room/space to do that... and what would happen if 1.500 peopleshould get that same idea during the last Gentle Storm gig... ;)

Marcela Bovio does the chorus for TGS live shows only. In recorded sessions, Anneke overdubs her own voice for the chorus part. But IMHO, TGS songs sound better with Annek and Marcela mixing their voices..
