The most unique and recognizable voice in the entire industry since the 90's. The chills.....wow.
Those vocals are just wow! Such a jazz quality to it and never heard any clean vocals in this genre anywhere near this good. Floor Jansen probably the best female vocalist when it comes to versatility in metal and Tatiana Shmaylyuk is probably the best female vocalist when combining clean vocals with growls but when it comes to just pure clean vocals, Anneke Van Giersbergen is in a league of her own.
Ever heard of Candice Clot? That bitch can combine clean and growls like shiiiittttt

The voice is amazing as usual, but Rene that guitar work is amazing. He's the Edge and David Gilmour mixed in one.
Of course the vocals of Anneke are wonderful, but what Rene gets out of his guitar is really mesmerizing :-).

@@gerardschotman4763 Beide dames kunnen zingen, maar hun repertoire met hún bands spreekt me niet aan. Het solo-album van Sharon vind ik dan wel weer fijn, maar de solo-albums van Anneke vind ik dan weer jammer.
I will never understand why a band like this is not recognize as is just value. It's just amasing, plz come in belgium in 2019 ;)

@@Muusfulify they started as a death/doom metal band then moved toward atmospheric doom and finally into atmospheric rock.
Not much is left of their original metal sound since the mid 90s. You hear it occasionally since then, but hard to argue they've been a metal band in the past 20 years.
Doesn't make them no less great. And Anneke has done some great work touring and collaborating with Devin Townsend and Ayreon if you want her voice set to metal.
Her vocal are other worldly... its almost unimaginal let alone acrually performed
but you did not not meet the maker... not even see.. thereof not epic. Just a fantastic idea...so close, so near. Possible intended.
Even though the performance is great, you can see they're not actually The Gathering anymore. I can't watch this honestly, unless they really come back, which I eagerly hope. Back to the A Noise Severe DVD :)
