I been at melton since March of this year and its been good. I just hope the pay was more, but luckily for me i been getting back to back loads. Can't complain just a lot of work that needs to be done 👍

Yeah Melton was great in my experience! As far as pointers, just always take your time to do everything correctly and safely. All the way from CDL school to when you get on the road, don’t let anyone rush you. Always be safe and smart, especially in flatbed. Good luck!

Finding locations in the oilfield is usually easier than OTR because you’ll be on leased ranch property with no traffic and marked roads in/ out of the site. I’d say oilfield it’s definitely easier than OTR flatbed

I got my CDL through a school. And yes I think it’s a great company to work for if you want to do flatbed! It was my first driving job and I have no regrets about it

Peanut butter, protein bars, and the biggest sandwiches I could find at the truck stops were my go to’s to keep me full. Good luck!

how hard is driving in the oil field vs OTR? I was thinking about trying sandbox in ND. Like is it hard to learn? Hard to find the well sites?

I don’t think hazmat is required, but it’s helpful. I have both but haven’t hauled any hazmat yet
