Thank you very much Timmy ! Could you tell us what is this yellow material you stick above and under the moutplate to strengthen it ? Is it plastic ? Fabric ? Tank you again ... and, Bravo !
Podrías usar una aguja, pero temo que la espuma se rompa con el tiempo. El pegamento haría una unión más fuerte a una mayor superficie de la espuma para que no se rompa.
Why did he use contact cement on the foam head and then hot glue for the mouth? could he not have used the hot glue to do the whole head? can someone explain this to me?
Hello thanks for watching and commenting first I wanna say that I use contact cement because it’s pliable and works really well. Second I would like to say that I pinch the seams to make the glue adhere better.
I want to make a Tom Sawyer for my classroom so that the children in the class can read more especially during the locking down period in South Africa. I want to know if you can place a pattern of a body, arm with hands please and what material can I use that is not too expensive to cover the body.
arm and hand patterns are real easy. Just draw out a three fingers and thumb for a hand and 12 inch long arm about 2 inches wide. Use it to cut the foam and fleece fabric.
Hello, I think you could make it for $16 or less. The foam is the most expensive part. However, if you find some free or discounted remnant foam you could do it for a lot less.
Over time plain cardboard would tear so the layering adds durability. Plus it gives the mouth plate a little bounce back and feels good on your hand. Also, the red felt is the color I want for the inside of the mouth.
@@wilson..... no problem and remember it doesn’t have to be exactly like mine. Try different thickness foam, change the pattern, experiment a little and have fun.
Although you video’d the process. Newbies such as myself, just learn a very small portion, of work involved. To truly make a great puppet, much time and energy, as well as cost goes into the finished work of art ! If you make more videos, possibly slow down the video and explain the process and materials used. Again, liked the video, but would have retained more, if explanation was given in the process !

sorry for the long wait for this reply. But it’s just craft foam that you get at the dollar store or a craft store.
me encantó la idea gracias por compartir
you are very welcome, hope it comes in handy for your projects
Could you also use contact cement to glue the mouth board rather than hot glue?
that would probably work just fine
Means we can stick it or not
Yes, stick it with glue
@@timmytube thank you sir for replying me🙏🙏🙏
I have smaller pieces of foam. Will it still work?
yes, should work just fine

Awesome, thank you very much ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
can i not put contact cement and use hot glue for ALLL of it?
You could but it’s not as pliable as contact cement
thank you very much

Contact cement holds better on the foam parts and is very pliable. It may work with contact cement but I have never tried it.

What kind of glue did you use
Hello, the foam was glued with contact cement and rest with hot glue. You can get “contact cement” at Lowe’s or most arts and crafts
This glue is toxic (can cause nerve and respiratory damage) and should be used with gloves, respirator and lots of ventilation. Be safe. Craft happy.
Why contact glue all around? Mind me asking why you "pinch" the seams when they are glued?
Hello thanks for watching and commenting first I wanna say that I use contact cement because it’s pliable and works really well. Second I would like to say that I pinch the seams to make the glue adhere better.
This is so cool! Can I ask, what is that thing you are using to stick everything together? 😢💕
just contact cement applied with popsicle stick on foam
Que cola vc usa😊
contact, cement, or rubber glue
Hola muy lindo al molde lo imprimi al 200 por ciento esta bien para hacerlo?

What purpose does layering the mouthpiece serve? Wouldn’t it work just as well with the cardboard on it’s own?
Over time plain cardboard would tear so the layering adds durability. Plus it gives the mouth plate a little bounce back and feels good on your hand. Also, the red felt is the color I want for the inside of the mouth.
