This woman died and her family didn't want her abandoned storage unit time capsule. This adventure into the 80's is nuts. They rented the unit in early 90's and over course of next few years filled it up. The manager told us no one had entered the storage in over 20 years. Lets get treasure hunting in this abandoned storage unit.

Her family knew and are dealing with the stuff that wasn't stored.
I thought the same from the beginning - hoarder. The family got a result though. They got someone to pay them thousands to clear out all the junk
Fascinating to watch, but makes me determined to get rid of all my stuff before I die so strangers aren't digging through my stuff after I'm gone.

What I find really interesting about the locker recovery business is what people choose to save, and how they choose to save it. Some lockers are carefully organized, all packed in totes and easy to inventory. Others are just mounds of junk, mixed in with precious stones, paintings, jewelry and other things of value. It's amazing. Gives a kind of birds eye view of the psyche of our materialistic society.

Yeah it's ridiculous the amount of trash people will pay money to store , for years , and eventually either they or their surviving family members let it all go to someone else for nothing .. smh ..what a waste of money storing it all.

In my opinion, storage units, okay to store a few stuff in like if you're in a transitional phase, but if you are finding you are permanently storing stuff that you arent quite ready to get rid of, just get rid of it. You are basically getting rid of your junk by putting it in a storage space might as well get it over with and make more cash on the stuff than paying to store it only for it to go away.
I hope you have someone going through all that paperwork thoroughly. My grandma hid money EVERYWHERE

Absolutely agree! Bearer bonds, title deeds, etc. Who knows what's in those papers.
I went through all of my mother in law's papers before I had all her stuff hauled off. No money to be had, deeds, stocks, bonds, or anything else of value. Mostly tax papers from years and years ago. (Jan Griffiths).
I can’t believe they are opening that stuff without gloves.
Makes me mad when someone who stored and cared for stuff for years dies and the worthless family could care less and just be lazy and sell it!😩

I didn't want any of my mother in law's stuff either. It was in a storage unit, but only for maybe 3 years. She died in 2021 of covid. My husband (her son) said he'd help to get rid of it, but he died 9 months later himself of pancreatic cancer. So I was left with all this junk I paid $165 a month to keep. I just got it all hauled off the latter part of July 2023. I didn't sell any of it. They guys who hauled it off asked me about the washer and dryer if they could have it, and I said they could have whatever they wanted. I just wanted it gone. I have some of her nicer furniture already in my home since she lived with us until she passed. I didn't need the washer and dryer----I have newer ones than the ones that were in storage. Definitely a hoarders unit. My mother's is just like this been sitting since 2005. We're gonna a clean it out this summer.
My kids wont have to go through much. Everything i own will fit in a suv and no money to fight over

The Lady who runs the storage place was happy to see you, because all that Junk is yours now!! She doesn't have to deal with any of it. It's going to take you about a year to go through all of it

Oh my- I get why you opened the boxes at the unit- I’d want to load everything up as is and take to my own storage building to sort, yes I know possible more expensive for what is trash to be hauled away- so so much stuff. We had those round storage containers in our attic full of hand me down clothes. One persons trash is another’s treasure and you found lots and lots of treasure.

Be honest what did you get out of that unit? did you ever recover your money? I mean it really did look like all junk none of which I would likely keep. My mom just recently passed and she had a lot of knick knacks I brought it all to a secondhand store and just gave it away.
Wait he said 1943 for the pennies 😲 a copper 1943 is worth a decent amount. They switched to steel that year in support of WWII to save material

I liked it better when you used to buy the units by yourself. Nothing against your partners. Such an unorganized video ... too many hands could not see what you got. You an uncle Mike worked much better. These guys are more into trying to be comedians and appear on the video. Did not like it at all.
