I hope you kept the Gone With The Wind book, I'm in the U.K and just did a quick search, 1 price was around £5,000 lol Please don't keep dismissing all the books!! You've become a man possessed looking through boxes with blinkers on, you're giving me anxiety when you say throw this & that, I dread to think what good stuff has been thrown away off cam. Yes I know you can't keep it all, but you're missing other avenues of sales!! You went to the flea market and spent money, when you could have had more value in other things here in the books, might not but you don't know till you look them up :) Much love & stay safe Jacq
Jacq Winstanley : also being EU we grow up different. I would more or less throw out all collections of sports cards as I have no clue of them. Also videos most CD's, plastic toys etc. if I can't donate them.
They seem to have no clue about real antiques. All they want is silver or cash. They have probably learned that baseball cards and stamps can be worth something, but everything else is just junk in their eyes.

The grandfather clock depending on age, and working condition can go from $2000-16,000.00 Great idea on going in 1/2 and 1/2 with the locker w locker nuts!

Uncle mike is a real man
Watching a man with no idea of any value search for gold whilst simultaneously wiping thousands in value off various items and talking about throwing valuable stuff in the bin .....it was like being in the zoo
I think jack has the greater appreciation for the old things. Probably would see a lot of it more valuable and take more time going through it all.

Those 70’s and early 80’s appear to be commons, however, they still have value. Look for high numbered ‘72’s. Look for those early year Nolan Ryan’s. Always keep your eyes open for the all black 1971’s!
The right encyclopedia can be money, Pirate. The 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica seems to go for $700-1200 in good condition.
Gustav Becker clocks seem to be in the $200-300 range.
Royal Doulton figurines have held some sort of value - the Artful Dodger is about $30.
You won’t believe this, but many of the old encyclopedia sets do get bought because people like the aesthetic value of the same colors on their bookshelves. I used to have a buyer for any sets bound in red hardcover.

Punch was a famous publication in the UK. That book could be worth money even with the damaged cover.The angled cover is a cheese dish, there should be a base plate too. GWTW looks like a 1st edition.The Artful Dodger is a character from the film "Oliver!", originated from the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The actor who played him died of alcoholism. Very sad.

The 1857 metal thingy is a ink well holder and a pen sits across it, the glass wrapped up is possibly for this too.

Excellent videos! I have a sports card shop and I believe I saw an Eddie Murray rookie in the Vintage baseball cards you skimmed through. If in really nice shape, could sell for big money. Maybe gradeable. Also in the packs, the 1991 Topps you need to check and see if they are the Desert Shield versions. Super Limited and can sell for over $200 per pack.
Are you able to tell without opening? I don't recall the wrapper being transparent enough to see through. I recall they used the standard wrapper.
@@Matt-nq8sz topps used the same exact wrappers and boxes for the desert shield cards. You would have to open a pack to tell. With that unit being the way it is, could possibly have some there! The regular packs would only sell for a dollar or two anyway so it is not that big of a risk if you open a few just to check.

Yeah, the box or ornaments on the bottom of the box are Vintage ' Shiny Brite ' and can be valuable. The box itself could have some money. I recognize the box because I found a box of them in a storage unit I bought last year
