    Ouch I felt that plums😥Did the same at Bankhouse but luckily there is a workshop and I cut the hook and pulled it out without too much hassle .Nice to see you back in action .I fished this morning on Bigland in the Lake District it looked great but blanked and come off around 11 as the sun was full on .

      Ronnie Biggs if I had thought about it for too long I would not have pulled the fly out of my thumb.....you did not see it on camera but the first time I tried to yank it out it didn’t budge lol

      It’s wouldn’t 😂😂👍😥 And I bet your first thought was that’s bolloxed the fishing for the day 🤔 followed by F🤬🤬k that I need that fishing and I haven’t drove this far to end up in hospital 💉🌡💊🧪 But with the barb in to the bone you did well .Still in the Lakes until Friday and guess what? Full on Sunshine ☀️ until Sunday so the rods are back in the bags until next pigging week .

    Great video mate! Can't wait to try for a double here in 2020. P.B. to date is 6lb 10oz... And loved the bit of fish from river, must give that a shot too! Cheers.

    taking me back to the late 90's to early 2000's , used to go stalking all the time with a 7 foot 3/4 weight and landed trout up to 21lb 8 oz here in wales , shame these lakes are all carp lakes now.

      @barrybigplums  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sebastian walker it’s a very very powerful rod ..... good for long distance and casting in the wind. Not the rod for fishing size 20 dry flies but great for streamers etc

    I still can't understand why people get so excited about paying alot off money to catch big pellet fed pet fish! Know b4 anyone thinks I'm jealous iv caught wild sea trout to over 12 pound so I can fish!

    • @barrybigplums

      I think the argument tends to be that if people are happy doing it why do some have to take issue with the big fish waters? There is a market for it and people are having fun? So where’s the harm? My hardest fighting trout pound for pound was a just under 7lb brown trout that was smashing the fry at Spring Hill trout fishery. There is a thrill watching a massive trout visually take your fly though. I think there will always be that divide of the big fish market and others. Each to their own though as long as the sport stays strong the everyone wins
