Arch, I was just going over my Codex Eldar for the past few hours, and I found that Wraithknights use shimmershields that protect both them AND the troops around them.
You see, this why mass artillery bombardment is the Eldar's worst enemy. Dodging is futile when every is boom. Ex: Basilisk artillery firing a volley into a eldar formation through the offending xenos titans. Or just Ork boiz rokkits spam blotting out the sun. You know.
so im reading the Horus Heresy books, and im reading the Thousand Sons book, and its Mindblowingly awsome how the Primarch Magnus the Red destroyed a orc titan with his psychic powers!!!! i mean, HOLY GODEMPEROR that i COOL!!!! Just to show how Powerful the Primarchs where
I think he did it when the Psi Titans were being tested, then again I read this stuff from all over the place so no idea if cannon or not anymore though I believe it still is, Psi Titans are awesome
Yeah Magnus the Red, before he went Chaos (But after his deal with a demon) he destroyed 1 of the 2 ancient Eldar titans, but the backlash after he did it knocked him out of the fight and his Thousand Sons had to take out the other one while protecting Magnus... Basicly infantry vs a titan.
John Doe Probably the same as other races, even though you nay think your protected Chaos will affect you in some way. The only military exceptions on this are the Grey Knights with their training, aegis wards and faith in the emperor. The other is the sisters of battle whom with their fanatical faith in the emperor pretty much shields them against corruption since in the fluff they have only had 1 sister fall to chaos and the Grey Knights currently have none.

It's my dream for a Planetside 2 style game to come out in the Warhammer 40K universe and Titans of different kinds will show up occasionally. Be friggen amazing.
+MrAwsomenoob You might be being facetious, but to my mind Liberty Prime would classify as a Scout-class Titan... that's if it wasn't either destroyed as an example of Silica Anima or technically considered an ultra-heavy combat robot rather than a Titan.
Eldar Titans use an Infinity Circuit for command control, similar to the one used for Craftworlds. This allows the Titan crew to achieve the agility that such war machines are known for. This also accounts for their odd tendency to act as a single entity even outside the cockpit. This agility was crucial, because the effectiveness of the Holo-Field depended on how fast it could move. Since they couldn't fire their weapons at full speed, slowing down to fire their weapons opened a window of vulnerability. Stepping on a mine or stopping to bitch slap a Bloodthirster with a Power Fist is not advisable. Their arm laz0rz are typically used for Titan-killing, though they can mount D-Cannon for some AoE damage. Still, their only secondary weapons are the wing-mounted Missile Launchers. Imperial Titan command thrones are believed to retain imprints of the former Princeps' will and personalities, but not anywhere close to the Infinity Circuit of the Eldar Titans. Ork Titans aren't noted for their firepower; they're noted for being damage sponges that can absorb insane amounts of damage. Multiple Power Fields and thick armour spread out across a lot of hit locations made it annoying as fuck to kill. And unlike Eldar Titans, they came with a ridiculous amount of secondary weapons that made it a real beast against massed forces. Of all the Ork Titan weapons out there, the Super Lifta-Droppa and the Gaze of Mork were hilarious to use.
Ah the spore mine. It's like a well programmed linux/unix daemon in comparison to a Windows executable. It does it's single basic job and it does it exceedingly efficiently and stably well!
KX139 Ta'unar Supremacy Armour is your answer. i believe tau is best among all if they can revolt against Ethereal castes and gain free will and democracy pretty much tau is the best option warhammer universe has for a good ending ( but we know that will never happen in warhammer universe)
The KX139 Ta'unar Supremacy Armour is not a titan. It is incredibly powerful and posibly able to deal with smaller titans, but it is most likely not the final anwser. Especialy when we realise that the tau are pretty much the only species that (at least at this time) is able to have technological advancements. But i doubt that they ever will create their own titans. It doesn't fit their preferred battle tactics. They'd need some great changes or addtitions to their tactical repertoire to make titans a reasonable concept for them.
Holy crap, i'm sitting here listening to random 40K videos, and suddenly i hear a voice that sounds vaguely familiar. I look and and realize that you're one of the guys playing in Sargon's Cyberpunk game.
I know I'm gonna get shit for this but I keep seeing Zerg when you show off the Tyrinids. Yes, I know Blizzard was inspired ( perhaps too inspired) by Warhammer but MAN it hard to not unsee the similarities.
This reminded of that Warcraft was supposed to be a Warhammer game but that agreement was cancelled so Blizzard had to make their own world since the game was quite far in development.
The way the units look does have many similarities, but I think they are very different if you look at the lore. The most glaring difference is that everything in Blizzard's Starcraft universe is WAY smaller. So small that the story only centers on a few specific characters. But yeah the Zerg are pretty much the Tyrranids(sp) if they toned down the galactic conquest a bit.
Daniel rogers I don’t know nerons can rebuild themselves same with elder using wraithbone on lords guards and knights space marines can just nuke taus planets from orbit and suppress with titans tyranid could just make a new adaptations kill them or just nuke the planet with spores etc.
I don't know if this is still cannon, but there was a record of an ork growing to be the size of a gargant, and another being 10 meters tall. That's almost the size of a small titan. Not to mention they had control of a gargant that could hold 6 mega gargants in the throne room.
Well if you want to see eldar Titan like mechs there is the Manga Five Star Stories with large mechs known as electric knights and one is in a complete gold color with a Titan killer Cannon called a buster rock sawed off Cannon yes it has starship class weaponry built into it.
About those Tyranid spore mines. They are pretty interesting if you ponder on how they would actually detonate themselves. Basically they as living creatures would probably have some kind of fear or anger reaction to alien organisms which would cause some kind of bio-chemical or hormonal reaction which instead of stimulating the organism would produce or inject large quantities of reactive substances into the spore mines "blood" stream and result in it exploding. Kinda like a porcupinefish but with a suicidal reaction.
Beautiful news. I'm glad that they postponed the release date as it allows them to iron out the bugs and the problems in order to release a completed product. Thanks Arch.
I have no clue how the crunch works, but I have a question: how many imperial guardsmen (let's assume rank and file cadians for simplicity) would it take to get even odds against a Hierophant? And how many space marine librarians would it take? Could someone calculate these through and tell me?
It's all depend on what type of regiment of guard you throw at the Hierophant. If it's an standard infantry regiment, range from 3000-10,000 men, forget it. It won't matter if you throw them by the hundreds of thousands at the Hierophant. Most infantry carry their standard lasgun with some heavy like grenade, and missile launcher. Their weapon wont even be able to tickle the Hierophant. With an armoured regiment, range from 30-100 tanks, it's a much more even fight. Though I would take 2 or 3 regiment just to be safe. For a superheavy regiment, with multiple baneblades and manticores support, it's relatively easy to take one down, assuming they can get off the first volley. So it's not how many men, it's how many big gun you have that determent the outcome.

Of course, nothing acquired as loot stays the way it was found for very long, lack of maintenance usually means that a Lascannon for example would quickly degrade and be 'repaired' in such a way as to make it effectively a Zapp Gun.
MrMortull
I did read in one of the 40k books the orks had managed to salvage a Baneblade from the field and were "corrupting it's machine-spirit" until a delegation of Space Marines persuaded them that was a bad idea, but I thought that might have been a once-off thing.
Nope, I remember Orks having specialist 'Lootaz' mobs armed exclusively with weapons they took from their foes.
+Rellana1 Actually yes. The majority of Ork psychics manifests itself as a form of "wish granting." For example, a rocket painted yellow will create a bigger explosion simply because the majority of the Ork population believes it so.
+shenphilip1 And then there's always the most well-known nugget of Ork logic: "DA RED WUNZ GO FASTA!"
Seriously, if an Ork believes something works, then it will work, laws of physics (and reality!) be damned.
'...on a thoroughly suspecting defender...' i like that phrase.
Eldar subtlety : designed to deal with the humongously lethal Necron weaponry. "Best way to deal efficiently with a heavy punch isn't to block it but to dodge it" Dodge like the eldar, sting like a bee, this sort of thing
Imperium subtlety : Ghostly and holographics titans? No way to know where he is on a 5km square? Juste bombard the whole damn square until you hit something, sergent! And i want this Sabaton song on repeat and more loudly!!"
That thing was too big to be called a Titan. Too big, too thick, too heavy, and too rough, it was more like a large hunk of iron. It was a Stompa.
There should totaly be a Video game where you build Ork Gargants.
+LordDarthHarry there sorta is, there's a mod for Dawn of War Soulstorm called Ultimate Apocalypse, basically every race gets titans and nukes, including Exterminatus for the Inquisition
+CorvusCorone68 No I mean actualy design and build 1 and controll it. Something like Besiege mixed with Robobcraft but with orks.
LordDarthHarry
hmm that would certainly be interesting
+dolan duk oh my i am imaging a batllefleet gothic style titan constuction and battle game . thoughts?
@Luke Maher Use da nu warboss, use krumped the old one.
Your pronunciation of "SUPAH DETH GOON" made my day, good sir X)
that is the most hilarious discription of an ork weapon ive ever heard!
40k orks dont you ever change!
also nice to know orks having heard of the duct tape and WD40 remedies
"a giant baby cannon that fires exploding babies mind you"
OH GOD HELP ME I'M CHOKING ON MY OWN LAUGHTER!
I think you meat to ask the EMPEROR to help you.
I think everything on the tyranid side causes horrors and pain induced screams
I think you confused them with Dark Eldar.
At least from what you said.
+Texas Red both. tyranids like burroring stuff DE are just sadists.
"As a massive fuck off lazer" HAHA
You have no idea how much youve taught me and kept me sane during lockdown. Just started with warhammer. Thank you Arch
i love arch. i could listen to you forever
48:46 - 48:57... It cracks me open every damn time! Arch you are a beautiful human being, so please never stop making these videos! Thx for the fun man :D
Wow Eldar Titans vs the AKD mirage knights from Five Star Stories would be a really interesting matchup.
Da Gaze uv Mork is my new favorite thing about the Orks. Everything about it makes me so happy.
"it is technically a massive baby canon , that fires exploding babies"
I've never heard someone speak with such sophistication and yet simultaneously sounding absolutely plastered
FINALLY! I was getting starved for 40k lore videos.
Imperial Titans: "Burn the traitor hive to the ground."
Tyranid Bio-titans: "We have weaponized our babies."
Eldar Titans: "We basically made an Evangelion."
Ork Titans: "Wu'unt it be funneh if we put a peenus on thuh giant death roboah?"
Arch, I was just going over my Codex Eldar for the past few hours, and I found that Wraithknights use shimmershields that protect both them AND the troops around them.
+shenphilip1 Nope, shimmershields are used by Dire Avenger Exarchs. Wraithknights have scattershields.
ah... Although looking around the Codex Eldar, I don't see an option for that...
Which edition? Some things change here and there.
@@thegremlin5886 none of them, they only have scattershields and those only protect themselves. Which is pretty nice already.
i LOVE the orcz crude thinking! "dis dakka biggah den DAT dakka, so dis dakka be better!" and "it not die from dakka. it good." XD
You see, this why mass artillery bombardment is the Eldar's worst enemy. Dodging is futile when every is boom. Ex: Basilisk artillery firing a volley into a eldar formation through the offending xenos titans. Or just Ork boiz rokkits spam blotting out the sun. You know.
This video contains titanic levels of heresy, you should report to your nearest commissar for some bolter treatment.
What aboot necron titans/anti-titan equipment?
A standard Monolith is about the size of a scout Titan. A Doomsday Monolith is even larger, those are their Titans.
@@valtersplume3726 the also have the Seraptekh heavy-construct.
great videos bro, one of the few channels worth subscribing too
SUPADETHGUN!.....one SUPADETHGUN!.. arch you are my hero! :D
Not all Races employ Titans or equivalent to titans-
Orks- Gargant
Tyrannids- Bio-Titan
Humans- Titans
Eldar- Aeldari Titans
Chaos- Chaos Titans
Necron- Abattoir, Aeonic Orb
Tau- *Salty tears*
orc logic is amazing..
so im reading the Horus Heresy books, and im reading the Thousand Sons book, and its Mindblowingly awsome how the Primarch Magnus the Red destroyed a orc titan with his psychic powers!!!! i mean, HOLY GODEMPEROR that i COOL!!!! Just to show how Powerful the Primarchs where
Monir Martinsen Bouker eldar titan right? (Old comment i know...)
I think Sanguinius ripped an eldar titan apart with his hands but go Magnus
It was an eldar titan :) wasn't there 2 though? Guarding a mountain pass or somthing I think dark eldar gate or we way entrance
The ork section was super funny. The orks ways of knowing if you're a friendly or not was a great ending.
So the Eldar are basically Jaeger pilots?
58:25
How I Learned to Love the Bomb
question has there ever been a chaos possessed Tyranid queen / dominatrix / hive , in the lore/fluff ?
I do not think so as far as I know though there have been cases of tyranids encountering chaos and being tainted by it.
...which makes no fucking sense whatsoever. How would the Hive Fleets travel through the Warp if they weren't immune to its taint?
John Doe The same the Imperium can without getting tainted, they must have some protection of their own
Castlerea 12
Which begs the question, "how can they be corrupted, ever?"
27:19
I didn't have time for the entire video right away, so after a bit of Tyranid (which I know better) was curious about the Eldar and decided to skip ahead. That's where I clicked. Brilliant. xD
Hey arch was wondering what you thought about all the "minor" factions revealed in a end turn video?
where!
i couldnt find the original video but warriorofsparta put a vid up showing a turn ending passing through all the factions
I believe if you look on the Total War Facebook page you can find the video.
thanks for the great work arch!
Hierophanto Greeeenu!
I love the Way that Arch speaks. It sounds so sophisticated
Are you going to do harlequins soon or later for the Eldar;I hope so!
really cool channel, when i first noticed it, i just clickt it away^^ cause the videos are so long
later i randomly clickt on one of your videos, and found that they are not to long at all they are ingenius :D
thank you for this big amount of work! sub
clicked*
And we have another convert.
Of course if you turn into a heretic I rain down the wrath of the Emperor I'm such a manner that even the citizens of vraks would fail to understand
Come on Arch! i wanted to sleep...
arch could you remake this????
I have a question. If it's called the gaze of mork wouldn't that make mork cunningly brutal
ok now I'm confused
what if their just one ork with a split personality?
You are overthinking it. They really are just mushrooms.
Arch: this shall be the Final video on titans.
Me: me glancing at the hoard of squats growing in the corner and hearing rather loud stomping noises.
Arch I believe you best prep to amend your statement there bud.
god damn Arch stop making super short videos to ged the TH-cammoniz
It's my dream for a Planetside 2 style game to come out in the Warhammer 40K universe and Titans of different kinds will show up occasionally. Be friggen amazing.
so what class of titan is liberty prime? :D
+MrAwsomenoob You might be being facetious, but to my mind Liberty Prime would classify as a Scout-class Titan... that's if it wasn't either destroyed as an example of Silica Anima or technically considered an ultra-heavy combat robot rather than a Titan.
keep Fallout out of this please
Steven Tan why? it;s a fair comparison
+MrAwsomenoob "democracy is non negotiable"-liberty prime before setting off a nuke
+MrAwsomenoob
I believe the class would be "tiny".
12:40 Anyone else think that the cannon and spore mines are the exact same thing found in gears of war 1? Does anyone know which came first?
40k, by more than a decade
The greenskins are hilarious creatures. Just. Hilarious.
How much dakka must an Ork Warboss carry? Your question does not even make sense as it can never be enough! Praise The God Machine!
Informative and very well presented. Both through sheer information and language :D just great.
I like this guy, it's like listening a full on documentary
How do you stretch a small list video to over an hour long?
Do Necron and Tau not have Titans?
Necrons have monoliths, which are basically their "titan size" troops
The Tau has Titans, but their Titans are smaller, with a lot of fire power and energy shields
Their titans are called 10 million crisis suits.
I've been listening to these lore videos while playing Dawn Of War
It's fantastic!
OOohhh i do love myself some lore videos
So Ork Gargents have what could affectionately be referred to as the "Strap-on of Doom" or Boom take your pick...LOL
Bio-titan is my new nickname for my junk.
Oi! Why are Orks AND Orcs always Cockney?
It just makes sense I think. Imagine a dwarf that DIDN'T have a northern accent. It just wouldn't be right!
George Bennett Right? XD but would a Chaos Dwarf still have accent or would it be like another realworld equivalent?
A Chaos dwarf would have a black country accent
F*** yeah! Space Cockneys!
NetMove
rSitan
Holy crap, i'm sitting here listening to random 40K videos, and suddenly i hear a voice that sounds vaguely familiar. I look and and realize that you're one of the guys playing in Sargon's Cyberpunk game.
Eldar shit on almost enything....... In real live thay would already captured the whole universum. Jup thay are OP
+living bio.virus if the eldar don't be a giant idiot and racist race , they can be a good big ears pals
if they weren't reduced to smallest race in the galaxy.
ALWAYS ANGRON true
10:00 I wonder who inspired who with this form of horror between Evangelion and Tyranids?
ENIN jager neither star ship troopers had gross bug enemies. Lovecraft had giant gross genitalial monsters. It's all been done before.
Zoidfreak Voidwalker Doesn't surprise me considering how many shovelware games they've let exist with their IP.
The way the units look does have many similarities, but I think they are very different if you look at the lore. The most glaring difference is that everything in Blizzard's Starcraft universe is WAY smaller. So small that the story only centers on a few specific characters.
But yeah the Zerg are pretty much the Tyrranids(sp) if they toned down the galactic conquest a bit.
i just consider them cousins of the main hivefleets
I speculate that spore mines may self-sustain via a symbiotic photosynthesis process of some description.
If the tau make titans every other race is screwed because knowing tau that's all they will end up building
Daniel rogers I don’t know nerons can rebuild themselves same with elder using wraithbone on lords guards and knights space marines can just nuke taus planets from orbit and suppress with titans tyranid could just make a new adaptations kill them or just nuke the planet with spores etc.
when was the ravener at 25:14 first introduced into war-hammer 40K?
9:25 - 9:40 LMAO hahahaha
I don't know if this is still cannon, but there was a record of an ork growing to be the size of a gargant, and another being 10 meters tall. That's almost the size of a small titan. Not to mention they had control of a gargant that could hold 6 mega gargants in the throne room.
The lore about eldar titans changed me form 95% to 100% sure that there needs to be a 40k anime
FUCK! NO!
Doctor Kalkyl of the 501st you are correct fuck no anime is fucking garbage
Well if you want to see eldar Titan like mechs there is the Manga Five Star Stories with large mechs known as electric knights and one is in a complete gold color with a Titan killer Cannon called a buster rock sawed off Cannon yes it has starship class weaponry built into it.
ah it cant be worse than dawn of war 3
Thanks again for the lore video. I often enjoy them while playing vermintide.
No Hydraphants? They are the Hierophant large cousin in 40,000 EPIC.
Beautiful news. I'm glad that they postponed the release date as it allows them to iron out the bugs and the problems in order to release a completed product. Thanks Arch.
Great channel, and titan series itself. I like the way you choose words :-) What's the music in Titans' by the way?
Hey arch love your videos im just wondering wheather you can make a video about the apex of imperium-s technological development at what time did humans posses the most advanced weaponry and what are the the most technologicaly advanced weapons the imperium has or had.
