Probably should mention to not put used tackle back in the tray without a freshwater rinse and preferably dry. I keep a box on the boat for all used hooks and baits and i rinse and air dry at home
I purchased 2x 3700 flex from Amazon a little bit ago. Not at all thrilled with how the dividers fit in the two narrow sides - they are
tight on bottom and loose and out of track on top and the short sides bend (cough flex cough) outward and sometimes the dividers pull out completely. The regular non flex are wonderful
Got a few of these and love them. Thanks for the review. Do you know how to obtain the “Water Wick” inserts? I can’t find them anywhere. They are not on Plano website.
I'm not sure how to get extras... I just got one for each box that I bought.
Just get silica gel packets. The insert opens up and that’s all that’s inside.
@@ferndelisle just opened one of the inserts. The small packet of “silica” (??) says to recharge packet by drying in oven one hour at 250 degree F.

How do you carry it on your paddleboard? Is that loop on the end tough enough to add a shoulder strap?
If on my L2Fish, I put in my tackle bag and then just have the tackle bag sitting on the paddleboard. If on my small paddleboard, I'll put it in the cooler which is where I keep everything else to make sure it doesn't float away.

How do they compare with each other when submerged underwater? Totally waterproof? I'd think the 3 latch box would seal better.
Go to your local pharmacy and be nice to the pharmacist. Ask them if they can give you all the dececants they get with the deliveries. They are small and have a few in box to absorb any moisture
They are not waterproof! Good but definitely not perfect.
Got a bunch of these. 3 of them now have cracked latches. That yellow plastic latch is brittle. I contacted Plano about it months ago… no response.
$30 for a box lol

Check out buzbe. They are military grade, sealed, and they float.
I hope I don't have hinge issues.. The latches also bend out on both ends which is a little annoying and worrisome. Will have to see how they last. I would try the Buzbee but they are just so insanely expensive.
@@RH-nc8uu The clear top is the only advantage to the plano. The other "3 latch" variety from Flambeau has the same ease of opening if you remove the other 2 latches. Easy peasy, and the single long latch does the job of keeping water out.

Plano clearly went on a crazy marketing strategy with these and reached out to all fisherman youtubers b/c everyone, literally everyone, has made videos on them.
The old so called waterproof stowaways are not 100% waterproof. Seen a few videos where they tested and failed. But, their probably good enough for the average angler, myself included. Never had a problem. The new Edge boxes are nice but, how about making a 3600 box at 2" deep?
One test I haven't seen on one Edge video is a full dunk test. I think Buzbe has a better overall product.

Solid boxes. My cons are 2-3x the cost and the clear plastic will destroy some of your baits. The clean plastic are almost like a UV magnifier and will ruin some baits by selective manufacturers. Yes you should not leave any box in the sun but this was early spring, 50 degrees temps. Your $20 JDM baits will thank you for keeping it out is the sun
