As you probably know by now I try to understand it before researching or knowing anything about it, so I am very glad I understood the part about being true to oneself, although obviously with some cultural differences I did not catch the symbolism embedded in the lyrics. Thank you so much for all the information, especially for the context onHuang Xiaoyun and on Red Moon Rules. Many suggested this song, but you and @continentzero7572 gave me more reasons to hear it.
First, I must say that I loved the quality of your reaction-perfectly authentic and sincere, calm and composed. I wish all reactions were like that, without clowning, exaggerations, or hysteria (you know what I mean). Moreover, as someone who has been following Xiao Yun’s career since 2015 (and Dimash’s only since 2017), I should inform you that this young woman, like Dimash, has a background in opera and can match him effortlessly in high notes, whistles, and sustains. Of course, she doesn’t possess Dimash's range, vocal power, or projection (which remains unique worldwide), but she is capable of far more than what you see in this song. She’s demonstrated this in another duet with Dimash ("Red Moon Rules") and in her improvised trio with Dimash and Terry Lin on "Unforgettable Day". Among her hits, she first astonished us at 16 with "All by Myself", then at 19 with "Upwards to the Moon", at 21 with "Your Answer", and at 23 with "Oracle"... She’ll be 26 in two months, and now that she’s signed with Warner, we can foresee the future predicted for her 4 years ago by superstar Hua Chen Yu : “Xiao Yun will be one of the greatest Chinese stars in the future.” Now, this future is near.

Dimash sings in Chinese so beautifully, & Xiaoyun helped him with his pronunciation. She is an up & coming Chinese singer, & her voice is strong enough to hold her own with Dimash.
I only noticed how strong Xiaoyun's voice really is toward the end of this performance, but it is a fact that Dimash is extraordinarily gifted and I am glad to see how he is careful to allow her to shine while still displaying his abilities where it fits. I do not understand Chinese at all, so I can't comment on his accent, but to an untrained ear it sounded like it's his language. A very beautiful duet indeed and sounds like it was a lovely collaboration between the two of them even off stage (her helping him with the language).

Great reaction 🙂 I have never heard this song before, and I really liked it. I prefer listening to Dimash when he's not going totally vocally crazy, and their harmonization sounded really good. Dimash definitely had his moment of flash toward the end, but it fitted well with the arrangement I think. Thank you, dear Sharkster! This seems to be a relatively new one and yes, a very enjoyable one indeed. This is SO good, right? He's a great duet partner for sure. They did a prior duet for the Singing With Legends presentation; and I read somewhere in the comments that Dimash requested to sing with Huang. Who can blame him? That duet is unreal, Red Moon Rules, and the copyright is tight so you may want to watch that on your own. In that same show is a duet with Gong Linna, and you really should check out the backstory to that one or you'll be as lost as I was when I watched it, lol. I found a backstage video of them first meeting, that explains the song choice. Still, an amazing vocal/emotional display from both. Thanks again for sharing with us!

As long as it is visible worldwide, I'll be happy to publish it. The duet with Linna is Becoming a Poet, right? If yes, I've added that one to the list as well. I'm glad to hear this was enjoyable to watch, even with my comments interspersed, but that is the point of a reaction after all... Thank you for everything!
@@AleksReacts You're welcome! I think you're going to like Red Moon Rules. It's fun! Of course I'm kidding. My take is I'm young until the age of 65 and after that, we'll see. 😉 I'm only 47 now, so lots to go until "we see". So, yeah... that's a lot.
Regarding Xiao Yun's latest update : her live performance "Running to You with Everything I Have" for the KPL e-sports opening was released 4 hours ago : th-cam.com/video/CqRK1uZOp9U/w-d-xo.html
I'm not that fast (an old, slow lady), but I have added that one to the list as well. Thanks for the heads up on something new, person with the cool handle. 🥰
@@AleksReacts Old Lady… I don’t know. I’m 76, so you could almost be my daughter. Jokes aside, I hadn’t posted that link as a suggestion for a future reaction. It was just for anyone who might want to immediately watch Xiao Yun’s latest performance. For a first introduction, I’d sooner choose some of her more major performances.
Of course I'm kidding. My take is I'm young until the age of 65 and after that, we'll see. 😉 I'm only 47 now, so lots to go until "we see". Based on quite a few friends I've made here, I'm starting to think it's closer to young until 95 and THEN we'll see. 🤣
The order isn't all that important to me when getting to know an artist. It's sometimes even more interesting for me going back and forth in time in a discovery chaos. What I do know is that I do want to hear more, so more there will be. 😊 Thank you so much once again!
