Out of all the games that caught my attention...Paciffic Drive is the one i like because of one simple thing: you can costumize the paint of your Wagon like the Mistery Machine from Scooby Doo
It's crazy how big Balatro got and I like to think it's in part because of you! Your video got me to play it back when it was a demo and I recommended it to so many people! In a way, you kinda predicted how popular it would get and that makes you a realy credible game critic in my eyes!
i decided to check out your steamy demos vid after u referenced it in ur recent Thank God You're Here review. These games look absolutely promising and im v glad to have watched them! Thank you for picking out such great upcoming games
Loved this video, and thanks for posting links and creating chapters with the names of all of the games. You'd be surprised how many people don't do that.
For those who don't know: 6:04 Mullet Mad Jack's combat was heavily inspired (Basically a carbon copy) of a game called "post-void" it's 3$ on steam rn, if you wanna play Mullet Mad, play post-void. Fair Warning: Epilepsy
I think the clearest inspiration for Mullet Mad Jack is Post Void. It's a fast-paced, very violent roguelike FPS, the artstyle is bright and garish, you slide around for speed, oh, and you also have an object in your left hand working as a timer that ends your run if it runs out, and is refilled with violence. The fact that the devs don't even acknowledge Post Void is honestly kinda messed up.
Speaking of Esoteric Ebb, I too like it when rolls have layers of success and failure. Specifically, I enjoy it when there's a state between success and failure, like if you still succeed but there's a catch, or if you still fail but there's a silver lining. It's not only more interesting, but could also break up the inevitable string of failures that you're gonna get if you play with dice.
Pacific Drive is on my wishlist after seeing IGP play it. It's like a biohazard version of Beware, the driving post-apocalyptic driving game where you couldn't leave the vehicle.
So, at first I thought it was just the font of Children of the Sun that was making me think of the apocalyptic fantasy TTRPG Mork Borg, but the more I saw of it the more the two seemed to have in common visually.
The black cat in your banner looks strikingly similar to one of my two black cats. He has that same look sometimes, same golden eyes. He likes to think he's king of the house, but one hand raising up from me and he rolls over. Edit: Oh apologies. The photo is so close that I thought he was all black.
If only CotS's victory scene wasn't so harsh on the eyes for those of us with migraine problems. Other than that, it reminds me of that sort of low res 3D game where I think(?) One bullet is supposed to go through all the enemies. 8bit Ryan played it in a 3 Random Games video a few years ago.
mullet madjack seems to be a... postvoid-like/clone? but with a combo system and perhaps more guns, while being a little bit more mainstream. i hope it does well and isn't just a clone/like!
Ebb looks fantastic. I'm so tired of 5E games because it's such a garbage system compared to many other options, but I'm sure it'll still be worth playing in spite of that; I'm keen to see someone else try the Disco Elysium "your mental unwellness issues are your party members" thing, it seems quite challenging to write for that. Mad Mullet Jack looks like a first-person Hotline Miami in a lot of respects, though it sounds like it's less about planning a takedown and just more roguelite randomness.
Someone please let me know if they work out how to play poker and ski at the same time so my life may be complete.
Come on man, still no Sky: Children of the Light? Please
I do it all the time
Laika: Aged Through Blood essay when?
Gambling ain't right for kids. Lol.
Thanks for checking out Ebb! Really fun to hear your thoughts on the demo - I'll be sure to make the UI more visible in the full game! 😁👍
Oooooh I love the dice roll mechanic. Such an ode to DnD and Baldur's Gate, the latter I love and play.
Played Signalis because of you... I will send you my future therapy expenses.
The demos look so promising, great video!
SAME 😂
Tribes 3’s movement is how I move in a dream. It’s so surreal.
Boris is such a flipping boss - he decided he didn't want to be diabetic anymore, so he stopped.
Be like Boris. Be a Boss.

Mullet Mad Jack seems similar to Post Void
Very much so, it’s direct inspiration that the very least
was about to post this lol
Yeah, Post Void really needs more attention. That game is so ridiculously fun
Same here. If anything, Mullet Mad Jack, Post Void, and Anger Foot are examples of what seems to be a distinct new subgenre.

I think it miggt be because of Northernlion but yea a lot of great youtuber played it and it exploded!

Always fun to see these! I'm never gonna stop being amazed at the creativity of what these creators come up with.

A new tribe is coming?!
That is the best thing I heard all week !
Thank you for that
Pacific Drive and Tribes 3 look awesome!
Yeah i also lost a day playing the demo for Balastro.... so good...
Thanks for this video, i somehow managed to COMPLETELY miss the next fest so this was a big help. Anybody else have demos they enjoyed?

if mullet mad jack sounds like something ud like i really recommend post void, which has basically the same mechanics but is a short three dollar game
Children of The Sun looks sick
2:50
That is not where a truck’s gas cap is. 😂
Tribes LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOO
I've been playing midair CE wishing for a main title tribes game and I'm so hyped
i fucking love this series
I believe that Mullet Mad Jack is also heavily inspired by Post Void (if you haven't heard of it you're in for a short, if not confusing, treat)
Pacific Drive is on my wishlist after seeing IGP play it. It's like a biohazard version of Beware, the driving post-apocalyptic driving game where you couldn't leave the vehicle.
Adore videos like this!
You've gotta try the demo for Mouthwashing, I think it'll be right up your alley!
Children of the Sun has an AMAZING aesthetic, i love it so much
Also, play V.A. Proxy.
You were much more generous than Pyro and IGN about Pacific Drive
18:08 no. MORE!
I played through mullet mad jack 4-5 times. Its soooooooo good
So, at first I thought it was just the font of Children of the Sun that was making me think of the apocalyptic fantasy TTRPG Mork Borg, but the more I saw of it the more the two seemed to have in common visually.
_Children of the Sun_ sounds A LOT like the movie _Mandy!_ Down to the plot, psychedelic imagery, & moral ambiguity

I really liked abiotic factor demo. It’s like half life 1 but its co-op survival in a hand-crafted facility
Children of the Sun definitely has Killer 7 vibes

all of these games are things i want to buy
I want to see PowerPak cosplay as Mullet MadJack!
Tribes is back?!?!?!
mullet madjack seems to be a... postvoid-like/clone? but with a combo system and perhaps more guns, while being a little bit more mainstream. i hope it does well and isn't just a clone/like!
PostVoid is a game that is just like mullet mad jack and its out right now
Finally a game for me
I'm "feeling _fiiiine."_
Cool
Frankie goes to hollywood 3 tribes

🦆🦆🦆
That review of Tribes aged horribly haha. It's a shame such an awesome series has such a terrible developer.
I want to like pacific drive, but the UI is so awful, and I think they missed a chance to make the UI organic.
holy shit tribes?!?!?!?!
