I love the car everyone tells me my car is super nice especially the interior and dual touch screens, I have no complaints! Car is a little low I came from driving a jeep though so I still scratch my bumper a little lol MPG is 18 but whatever I drove a jeep before not much change. Best part I can smoke 3 series. Mustangs. Camaros. Mercedes C250. Lexus F sports without even breaking a sweat

How much did you pay for the car in 2017? I just bought a black 2014 Q50S Hybrid AWD with deluxe package/nav with 42k miles and paid $21,994--the dealer put on new tires Bridgestone Driveway run flat that cost $290 per tire at Discount Tire. It is very clean with a few paint chips that the dealer touched up before I purchased and it has every option possible. The dealer also forced me to buy a $1,000 add on package that includes wheel locks, tint, wheel hazard repair, they will pay $500 deductible if I'm involved in accident, and DOT vehicle theft tracking.
I paid about 31k with taxes, basically fully loaded at 17k miles.

My Q50 AWD weighs about 4100 lbs. I think you meant 4000 not 5000. Mine was also made in Japan.

Peanut ... yep, still sux.. I use my phone.. just say "1 main st, anywhere, usa and "google street maps" works. I dislike the Q nav system. Takes forever to put in an address/destination... if it has it, or even the road on... and its locked out when moving so your passenger can't enter data... so you have to pull over to enter data and risk getting hit.

Hey have you had any of the common problems with that year, I was thinking about getting one. Like steering freezing up or something in the cold, steering goes to the right too much, screen loading too long. You can look them up. Great looking car you have !
hey man, so i have heard this as well but never had issues with steering. ive driven in -20 degrees F no issues at all. screen works well i have had it take a while to turn on once. i restarted the car and then it worked fine. but these are rare occurances. thankks for watching!

Hard reboot the infotainment system by pressing the volume button down until the displays turn off. Usually works
Youve probably already done your transmission research but from my research into the g37s which i believe is the same transmission the best route is to just change your fluid every 30k miles without ever "flushing" i think they refer to it as a 3x1 drain or something like that.
Such a good car. Think pretty much the most common problem (source: forums) on the sport models is that the OEM rotors suck. You resurface the rotors well they do fix the vibrations but they are thinner now , meaning they will heat and warp easier. Best solution is well known aftermarket Rotor/Pads kit.

love the video. i bought my 2014 Q50 S from Naperville Infiniti. I put on 20" Vossen and Stillen exhaust. I love the look and the new sound and have rec'd quite a bit of compliments. That's the extent of my knowledge, as i'm only a visual and aesthetic car fan. I did notice the Tesla monitors that are compatible to the Q's. Had any thoughts on that or something you'd install soon? keep the videos coming.
NIce man and thank you for watching! i have heard of the Tesla monitor but have not had thoughts of installing it. Tbh i dont mind the oem set up as i am not too crazy with my electronics when it comes to cars. But it does look nice!

Hm do you spend a year on maintenance and would you recommend a 2015 q50 awd premium 3.7 with 40k miles or less clean car fax with no accidents and service history records for around 16500 and under? Would really appreciate it dope vid and awesome whip too!
Thanks for the comment! Honestly 3.7l are great! Hardly any heavy maintenance other than just fluid changes, brake pad and rotor changes, and bleeding brakes. Which those are usually less than 500$ if you do it all at once. Oil I pens probably 50 bucks with filter every 5k miles. Brakes I did 2 years ago and got new 2 piece rotors and new pads. Those were of course expensive because I changed everything but I’m good for several years after that until I need to change pads again. Im at 43k now and this car does skip a beat. I will do a tranny fluid change probably at 50k miles. I feel that price you found is pretty good, I would maybe see if there are any sport models as those have more to offer and the front bumper looks more aggressive than premium.

The Run flats and the infotainment touch screen are the 2 things I don't like about this car. Makes this car 3rd or on my list behind the GS and IS
Yeah I agree on the run flats but I don’t quite mind the infotainment system. I’m not too picky of what’s in the car when it’s comes to screens and radios and all that.
Had the touchscreen on my Acura TL go out it was a nightmare I imagine that again times 2. Knobs and buttons please

I'm getting ready to buy some RSR Downs and I've already ordered that new, awesome WaveTrac LSD. I recently had my 1pc. Aluminum Driveshaft from the driveshaft shop installed... Awesome by the way! Matt i don't know if you'll get my message but i got the same whip. I love the rims. How many inches on the rim? How do u get ur phone to sync with the interactive screen for example if i was to watch this video on youtube through my interactive screen. Can i download whatsapp n youtube apps on the interactive screen? Matt i also notice u did the exhaust do u see a difference in gas when in eco mode with the new exhaust?
MY wheels are Ferrada FR4 wheels 20inx10.5in squared. I dont think you can actually sync your phone to be able to play video on the infotainment system. you can connect via bluetooth to listen to music/text message/phone call. Unless you have a custom infotainment system, thats the only way I can see that working. As far as exhaust, no difference in mileage per gallon, still remained the same to me.

I got mine for about 32k but with pretty low miles as the car was like 50 something brand new back in 2014 if I’m not mistaken. I am not sure what they cost now but used cars in general have gone up in price like crazy. You should see some of the used 370z’s, it’s insane.

I don't know about your 2014 Q50, but my 2014 Q60S was assembled in Japan and all
the parts were made in Japan. It certainly is NOT an American Nissan.
You might want to try the Bridgestone Potenza summer tires. They are much quieter then
the all season Potenzas I have on my 2004 350Z. I think both are also called the Pole Position
tires. It is just that one type has a summer tread pattern and is very quiet and the other
has a more all weather type tread pattern that tends to feather on these cars and really
gets noisy. Like as noisy as old style snow tires.

Hey man, just searched carbon fiber trunk lips and found this one, not sure on the exact sku or name as this was almost 3 years ago.
To save that engine change the motor oil and filter every 3,000 miles and change the transmission oil and filter every 50,000 miles
3k miles? I feel as though that is too soon. I have heard many do 5k miles for the 3.7 L.
5k oil changes are just fine. Now about the 2016 and up models going for the 10k intervals, I just don’t know about that.

A shade over 33k with taxes with the sport package included except some of the cameras and about 17k miles. Car was about 2 years old when I got it. Luckily it was a lease that was hardly driven.
you think you can pull off 265/35/20 tires without the tires sticking out too much ?
For the set up it may even rub with those tires. Trust me I asked on this as 255/30/20 I feel is too stretched. BUt if you run coils there is a possibility of doing that. There is a guy that has these same wheels on coils running 265/30/20. That would look so great I feel.
I have heard that these vehicles well nissan n inifinit give electrical issues have u encounter that or heard of?
None so far, I know the infotainment system is one to conk out after a while.

Oh yeah, you just need to get some more components like the fog light bezels are different, the lower grill parts and I am not sure what else... I would say to check on some forums to make sure you have all the parts needed to get it to fit properly. YOu have to be mindful of sensors too if your Q will come with it.
Hearing American infinti made me cringe lol. I bought an infinti for the exact reason it wasn’t American... to my belief I think infintis are actually assembled in Japan and Importer. I’ll only buy forgein made cars, hopefully a bmw next
Thinking of 2014 q50 with 77k miles certified. I drive from the city to Elgin for work. Would you recommend this? I want a sporty sedan and a used g37 was the top of my list. I like this because of the improved interior and mpgs.

Nice ride, just bought black '15 for $18.5. 35k miles. The tires and wheels have to go.. only 17 inch and not black?... not happening. Need 19 or 20s, and I need tint. How much were your tires and wheels? Don't think I can afford those wheels, maybe i can, but have to get black something, if not infiniti black, cheaper name black. Hard to find luxury cars with black wheels.most are all silver. Had them on midnight edition altima. Someone totaled that last month. But I'm sure be happy with q50, didn't even pick up yet, just bought today, but awesome test drive. It moves.
Thanks man! Pretty good deal that you got there! I would recommend 19s or 20s for sure as I had both. 20s really compliment the car if you get the right ones of course. SO tires (non Staggered) paid like $635 and wheels were $1800, usually they go for 2300 for Ferrads FR4s. YOu can get maybe some 370z wheels sport or nismos those are nice and you can get them poweder coated black. I did that with my 370z nismo wheels back when I had that car. Then later I ran the Nismo wheels on the Q for a few months before I changed over to the Ferrada wheels.
how did you get the chrome strip on the back that says "infiniti" to be black? is there a kit online or did you just paint it??
I just wrapped the entire thing. I made sure to get each letter properly. Definitely took some time.
At 50 000 km (30 000 mi.) my engine started to develop a whinning/rumbling sound at idle that you can only hear from "inside" the car. The dealership told me that this vibration was seen before on VQ 3.7 engines. I asked if it could be the transfer case and he was clear on his diagnostic......NO..... It might go away as it came up, he said !!!! ?????? Ever heard of that before, you guys ?????

Can you be more specific as to what kind of a sound it was? I had a 2010 g37 sedan for 6 years maybe i could help
rumbling sound usually means it requires new engine mountings which is no big deal.

Not sure. Mine came with the 2nd highest amount of options. There was one trim above that which included more features. Not sure what they are though.

Hmm first time hearing this. Maybe because they prefer you visit your dealer to flush it out as i cant see why you would want to leave the same fluid in the car after 50k miles.

i heard that exhaust is good. I might do ARK full catback exhaust. But mines AWD they dont have alot of options for catbacks exhaust that are not super expensive.
Yes, I have Q50S 3.0 twin turbo AWD (405hp). In Russia there are only 3.0tt (405hp) AWD and 2.0t RWD. Oh no, I've had this on for a year now and its like new. Cleans up well with wax and detailer too. No issues at all being low, luckily the roads are not too terrible where I live, but the city is a whole different story lol. Thanks man, the wheels are Ferrada FR4 20x10.5 +28 offset. tires are hankook ventus v12 evo 2 255/35/20. I would make sure to get hub rings (Not Spacers) as these will vibrate without them, im lowered on RSR springs and there is no rubbing or scraping anywhere.
I hate triptronic that's not stick i really wish it was 6speed with a clutch. Now that's full power out of a car

where did you get that tow hook or whatever it’s called (the red thing in the front) also did you put that red lining on the bottom of the front bumper or did it come like that?
For the tow hook I bought it on amazon a few years back and the red lining was just some pin stripe tape I applied myself.

Hard shift is due to too much clearance in 2-3 gear clutch pack, I have 2008 G35 and it has a same hard shift issue

I have the AWD Q50s. I put 20 x 8.5 just to make sure I got no rubbing or anything but it just didn’t give me the aggressive look I want. Will the 20x10 fit with no problem with rubbing? I tried going through the comments to find these answers but there were so many...
Should not be an issue considering i have 20x10.5 squared. I have 255/35/20 tires with no rubbing issues.

Thanks for watching! Pretty good for me, i love the stiffness and handling. Very noticeable once installed. Some prefer less stiffness and go with coils. But this to me feels good simple to install and affordable.
So far Do you have any problems with your car since you got. And do these cars give any problems at all especially the Q50
What do you mean by problems? I personally have not had anything major other than a blown shock which I got repair free under warranty. Car has been a dream and is to this day. I know the 3.0 models are notorious for the belt squeal and q50s in general are not great with their infotainment system. Others also have mixed feelings on the DAS steering. This car is great in my opinion!

I would prefer the q50 as my honest opinion only because the challenger I feel is really heavy and boaty lol. I get compliments all the time with this car, love it!

How are those lowering springs? I have a q60 in the chicago area too so i'm not trying to lower it too much
Good man, had them on over a year now and no complaints at all. I would say for Chicago just to be safe and not damage your car, dont go lower than rsr regular springs. DOnt do super downs. If you have the money you can do coils or bags but again your preference. Just be careful with coils as well as some people tend to make it super low and again potholes will have a field day on your car if you hit one. Or uneven roads and divets.

i just picked up a 2018 3.0TT love it.. i chose the q50 over the maxima cause of ... you guessed it the engine i personally put preference on the powerplant and mechanics over the interior but I LOVE the car

The maxima definitely has a much better luxurious interior then the infiniti..and truthfully the outside of the maxima is more premium looking!!!
Boy what g35 had the 3.7???
Those cast iron heavy ass wheels have got to go. People always going for looks over performance. I can tell anyone that wheels like that make cars perform worse, slower and longer distance to braking, reduced power at the wheel, heavier turning, premature brake pad wear to slow down those elephant cast wheels, puts extra stress on suspension, are prone to cracking over mediocre potholes. If you can't afford forged wheels, or at least flow form, don't fucking do this to your ride.
Was considering getting this car as my daily driver to replace my mk3 supra and leaving that as my project car. Good idea?
I guess i would recommend a test drive on this car. But i can tell you that this car is great as a daily. The sport model too has a lot to offer and is worth it.

nice in depth review, thinking about buying a '14 Q50S in gray. Love the look and features, nice to hear no major maintenance issues so far. Interested about the pre-certified warranty, was that something that the dealership offered? I have heard of dealers offering "extended warranties" what is along those lines?
Thanks man! Yeah man can't go wrong. The motor and trans are bullet proof they will last quite a while . Pre-Certified warranty was offered by the dealer with no extra cost. Basically covers everything a regular warranty would.

Easy, it applies on with 3m tape that comes with the badge when you buy it.
Did your awd light ever come on?
Nope.

Based on reliability, I have always chosen NIssan/Infiniti, Not too sure on the Chargers and how good they are but they feel boaty to me and just cheap feeling. But performance is pretty good if you get the v8 models.
