I bought a new tank to replace mine at 55K (16 years). Any issues with the hoses or the clamps? I was wondering if this should be done after running the engine and then let it sit for a bit to avoid the plastic to be completely dry and cold.
We found all the clamps and hoses to be okay. Had both mine and my brothers done with no issues (Nc1 Mx5s) we tested it and kept checking it to make sure there was no leaks 👍🏻
This was one of my first mods on my car. I say mod because I decided to purchase the Moroso aluminum tank. I wanted to be done with it and not have to worry about it. Being new to the Miata world, I messed up and tossed the old tank. It was still in decent shape.
I think the issue with the metal tanks are the knock offs. Moroso was the first to design the tank and then came the cheaper knock offs. I’ve used Moroso parts since 1970’s and never had any of them fail. The saying “you get what you pay for” certainly applies. If you’re going to go with the aluminum tank, buy the best one. Don’t buy the cheap knock off.
@@TrinityCT11 I mainly did it due to hearing about them cracking around the neck when they get old and brittle. I know it usually happens in places with hotter climates but it’s just piece of mine and also looks a lot cleaner 👌🏻
Actually crazy timing dude I JUST bought an OEM replacement and this was the first video with an OEM 😎 goated
Great to hear mate 😁 hope it helps

Interesting looking air filter 🤔 do you have a video on it?

I’ve heard good things about them tanks. Look the part aswell 👌🏻
Made it that look like a doodle.
Any opinions on the metal ones?
It wasn’t hard at all tbf. Metal ones look imo better but I’ve heard more stories of them leaking than the OEM ones.
I expect they are more complicated therefore more likely to fail. But I don't know.
Do you know if changing the break fluid is so easy?

@@FJB8646 makes sense
@@FJB8646your so right! Everyone used to get the moroso and they never had any issues. Its the cheap knock offs which are the issue
Why did you change it, just because of the discoloration?
